"This is a sucky way to spend a birthday."

Tom only hummed, continuing to look down at the instructions for the crib, not paying any mind to Kat.

"Tommy!" she groaned after a while, making him look up instinctively.

"What's wrong? Are you okay or do you need me to go get you something?"

Kat only frowned when Magdalena rushed in, an equally concerned look on her face, "Did I hear you yell mija? Are you okay?"

"I'm only 28 weeks and you two are exhausting me. I can't even begin to imagine what you'll be like when the twins get here."

Magdalena rolled her eyes, "Are you okay or not? Can I go back to cooking Tom's birthday meal?"

"Yes."

"You really don't have to do that, Maggie!" Tom called after her but returned to the pamphlet the second she left.

"I hate that you call her Maggie."

"Why?" he laughed, finally setting down the pamphlet to continue building the crib.

"It's just weird. And you know, we could've hired someone to put the cribs together."

"No way. This is my chance for the kids to see me as something more than their dad 'the actor'. I want them to see me as their dad- the one who literally built the bed they sleep in."

"The most they'll think is blah blah blah."

"Don't belittle their intelligence bebe. They're going to be smart as fuck- look at them listening to Beethoven."

"Against their will," Kat rolled her eyes, "When can I play them Queen or the Beatles or oh! Nirvana!"

"When they're done with the classics."

"But-"

"Please? For my birthday?"

Sighing deeply, Kat nodded, "That's a sucky birthday wish though. You know some guys would wish for sex or- hell even a blowjob."

"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that," Magdalena grimaced, handing Tom a plate filled with food.

"I'm so sorry, Maggie," Tom blushed as he took the plate, "And thank you for this."

"Of course. Katalina, your food is waiting for you downstairs."

"Why can he eat up here and I can't?"

"It's his birthday."

"This is my house. You can't just tell me where I can and can't eat."
