"It's their six month birthday- it's a very big deal."

"No it isn't," Kat tried to brush Sam off, "Their one year birthday is a very big deal. Not this."

"I'm sorry, who are you and what have you done to my sister in law?"

"Ha ha," she rolled her eyes, "I just- I don't want anyone posting this on instagram or snapchat for Tom to see and feel bad that he won't be there."

"What are you talking about? I thought he said he was flying out today so he could be here?"

Kat now gave him a look, "It's about to be noon. You really think he's still coming?"

"Um, yeah. Why wouldn't he?"

"Just- trust me, Sammy. He's not going to make it and he's going to feel like shit if he sees everyone else here making a big fuss of today and I do not need my hubby to feel bad."

"Honestly, I think you're just- would you look at that. Tom's calling."

"Uh huh. Can you watch the food while I go talk to him?"

"Of course- and tell him if he wants I'll go pick him up at the airport."

Kat only rolled her eyes playfully, quickly heading upstairs into their room where she answered the call as soon as she closed the door.

"What's wrong?"

"I um... I won't be able to make it back today for the twins' birthday like I originally planned. I'm sorry."

"Baby, you left not too long ago, I wasn't expecting you to make it back for today. Besides, it's just their six month birthday. It's no big deal."

"O-okay."

"Wait... are you crying?"

"What? No!"

"Bubba, please don't cry. It's fine."

"No it's not! I-I told myself if I took this role nothing for work would ever come before the twins yet here I am missing a month birthday because they won't let me off set."

"It really isn't that big of a deal. I can facetime you if you want- it'll be like you're here."

"No it wouldn't. I- god this has just been a shitty past couple of days."
