The girl was startled as the bell rang through the intercom, signaling for students to finally pack up their things and leave.

Luna closed her notebook, shoving it into her backpack and not caring about the mess that was in it. With one huff, she stood up from her chair and began making her way out of the classroom.

The hallway was crowded with a sea of high school students pushing one another to exit the doors to the front.

Luna slowly made her way to her locker, opening it and stuffing her unneeded books inside. She curses as one slips from her grasp and onto the square tiles.

"Hey sport."

Luna looked to her right, seeing her one and only friend leaning against the locker next to her own.

Aubrey Morgan. The beautiful and popular red head who every girl wanted to be.

Aubrey was perfect. She had a slim yet curvy figure and full lips that constantly had red lipstick coated on them. Her fashion sense was top notch, always consisting of skirts or styled leggings.

She faintly smiles. "How was your day?"

Luna shrugs, bending over to retrieve her book. "Same as ever."

When Luna Pearce first transferred to Midtown High, sometime last year, she kept to herself and chose not to associate herself with anybody. She wasn't good at making friends and she wasn't going to force herself to try. But, during her first week, Aubrey saw the girl and decided to say hello. Even with her group of friends telling her not to, she chose to do it anyway. Aubrey knew that Luna was shy when she first approached her by her locker. The way Luna looked down towards the floor and the way she quietly spoke was enough for Aubrey to know she wasn't very social.

Luna made friends with her almost instantly. Aubrey would smile and wave to the quiet girl every time they would pass by one another in the halls. The two even spoke everyday by Luna's locker when school was finished.

But, there was an obvious problem.

Aubrey was popular, and Luna was the opposite.

The redhead had her own group of friends who always questioned her about the friendship she had with Luna. They didn't see the need for Aubrey to even give Luna her time of day, but Aubrey didn't care what her friends thought.

There were times when Aubrey would ask Luna to sit with her and her group during lunch, in which Luna always declined.

Even though Aubrey had her friends with her most of the time, she never failed to say hello to the quiet brunette at least once throughout the day.
