So fucking close.
It was finally going to happen, the moment Luna had been waiting for ever since she realized how much she loved this boy. She was going to feel everything she wanted to feel with the person she wanted to be with. The person who made her feel a mountain of emotions every time she was with him. However, the destined moment was quickly ripped away from her in an instant from the simple sound of May returning home.
As the door opened, Luna and Peter wasted no time jumping away from each other, separating themselves to be as distant as possible. Peter quickly stood up from the couch, sliding back all the way to the other end of the sofa, but Luna stayed seated as she scurried to the other side. Both of their heart rates were rapidly beating as they watched May walk into the apartment.
The older woman spotted the two, probably noticing just how red their cheeks were. She quirked an eyebrow as she set her purse down.
"Am I interrupting something?" She asked.
"No!" The teens yelled at the same time as they looked at May with wide eyes.
You just happened to ruin the best moment of my entire life, and now it probably won't happen again.
Peter let out a shaky breath, nervously crossing his arms as he prepared for his aunt to embarrass him yet again. It was always a personal hobby of hers.
May seemed intrigued by the situation, already very much aware of what was going on. Just looking at Peter's face was enough to know that there was a potential moment that had been interrupted.
Surprisingly, she decided to ignore it.
"Hello Luna." The woman smiled. "It's good to see you."
Luna was completely in shock, not really knowing what to do with herself as she awkwardly sat on the couch. She looked at May and offered a tight lipped smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, um- y-you too." She responded.
"Peter just seems to never tell me when you're coming over." May waved off, eyeing Peter with her eyes.
The boy nervously laughed, his foot tapping on the floor. The state of shock that he was experiencing from a couple seconds ago seemed to have a hard time disappearing from his mind. "Sorry May."
"Hm.." the woman hummed, crossing her arms in amusement.
Luna gulped as she looked back and forth between Peter and his aunt. She was shaking from embarrassment and she had no idea what to do. She was still in a daze, and by the looks of it, Peter was too.
"I should go." Luna quietly muttered, slowly standing up from her spot on the sofa. Once she grabbed her phone and shoved it in her jacket pocket, her and Peter locked eyes.
