Luna and Peter sat on the floor, leaning against the lockers with their shoulders touching as they stood quiet, the silence being calming for the two. Luna had given Peter the gist of what had happened in the cafeteria, and it made the boy feel horrible that Aubrey's friends could be so hurtful. He felt irritated with himself for showing up so late all because his teacher was on his ass to finish a make up quiz. What made Peter even more angry was that Luna actually agreed with what Flash and Jess were saying, which proved how low Luna's self-esteem was. As the girl was telling him this, Peter felt the need to walk in there and punch Flash to the ground, which he is perfectly capable of doing, but was aware that he couldn't. Peter knew to never show off his strength in public, no matter how bad he wanted to in cases like this.

Peter turned his head, looking at Luna's side profile as she kept her gaze glued straight ahead. She hadn't muttered a word for a few minutes, and Peter wasn't pushing her to say anything, but he couldn't help but ask.

"Are you okay?" He muttered.

The question seemed stupid to ask, and Peter resisted the urge to curse himself out.

Luna swallowed, finally breaking her gaze away from the lockers across from her. "Yeah." She whispered.

Peter sympathetically smiled at the girl. "Are you sure?" He asked. "It's okay if you're not."

The girl looked at him, a sad smile appearing on her face as she sighed. "I'm fine Peter." She told him. "Really."

Luna didn't deserve any of Peter's help, mostly because the girl felt like she wasn't worth anyone's time. However, Peter Parker was suddenly making her feel like he actually cared about her and was worried about her whenever she was in this state of mind.

The young girl drew her attention back straight ahead, sighing for the tenth time. "I just really want to get out of here." She dryly chucked, fidgeting with the sleeves of her sweater.

Peter shrugged, running a tired hand through his brown hair. "So let's go." He encouraged.

Luna looked at him, raising a silent eyebrow at the boy who gave her a tight lipped smile. "What?"

"We have 20 minutes left for lunch." He told her, checking the time on the watch that was around his wrist. "We could go and grab some food if you want. I know a great place." He offered.

"Are we even allowed to leave?" Luna asked, confused.

"I'm not sure." Peter chuckled, not mentioning how he had to leave school many times due to Spider-Man duties. "I promise I'll bring you back in time for 4th period if that's what you're worried about. I just assumed that you needed a break from here for a bit."

Luna thought for a moment, contemplating whether or not if this was a smart idea. She had never left school before, especially during times she wasn't supposed to, but right now she was feeling more vulnerable than ever which made her want to leave even more. The encounter she had with Flash Thompson was something that ruined her entire day, and she needed to get a breather before she was able to continue on the rest of the school day.
