"I don't know what to do. I feel like every time I'm with her, I act like some loser. And now I have to face her again when she comes over tonight. I thought I was supposed to be used to being around her by now, but it's just getting harder. I'm actually hoping that she would be the one to make the first move, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen. Do you think I'm overreacting? I feel like I am, but at the same time I feel like I'm being reasonable with myself. What do you think?"

Tony Stark watched with bored eyes as Peter rambled on about his problems. The boy had been talking for 20 minutes straight, and he still had yet to shut up. Tony wasn't one to give anybody advice, and Peter knew this, but he still chose to talk to his mentor about his daily life anyways.

"I think," Tony blinked his eyes, trying to make it seem like he hadn't just zoned out for the past half hour. "that this whole thing is incredibly pathetic." He said.

Peter crossed his arms, sinking further down on the couch with a defeated look on his face. "Gee, thanks."

Tony rolled his eyes. "Listen, you come to the compound uninvited just to talk about your girl problems, which really isn't anything I care about. Having a heart to heart conversation isn't really my thing." He explained.

Even though Tony would never admit it, he did have a soft spot when it came to Peter Parker. The boy was someone who he never thought he needed in his life. After knowing the teenager for quite some time, Tony came to realize that he cared about Peter.

The millionaire was good at a lot of things, but showing sympathy wasn't one of them.

However, he knew he had to show at least a little bit of support to his recruit.

Tony sighed, a groan leaving his lips. "Hear me out kid," he started. "If you want this girl to fall head over heels in love with you, you can't just sit around like some idiot waiting for something to happen. It's just sad."

"But-"

"Ah ah." Stark interrupted, holding his hand up. "Coming up with lame excuses isn't going to help you. I just had to sit here and listen to you ramble on for who knows how long when there is an obvious solution here."

Peter frowned, eyeing the millionaire. "And what's that?"

"Well," Tony spoke, intertwining his fingers. "You can start by actually telling her that you like her instead of being a hopeless wimp."

Peter couldn't help but roll his eyes, almost feeling embarrassed that everyone was telling him to do the same thing, yet he was still too scared to actually go through with it.

He felt pathetic.

"She won't like me back." Peter mumbled, his voice sounding more weak than he intended.
