Luna was a nervous wreck, and she was wondering why she even agreed to this in the first place. This wasn't like her at all, and the thought of things not going well made her feel sick. Now that Aubrey got so excited over the phone the second Luna asked for the address, there was no turning back. No matter how much she wanted to change her mind, she knew she couldn't.
After a year of being trapped in places like home and school, it was unusual for Luna to be able to go somewhere outside of those two places. It felt unnatural.
Luna stood in front of her closet, nervously scanning the clothes that hung on the bars. There was nothing remotely close to being cute, and it made Luna want to change her mind altogether, but the girl ended up settling for a simple shirt and blue jeans. This whole thing was a ridiculous idea, and she was perfectly aware of that. However, she felt the burning need to do this in order to feel free again.
And Luna would do anything to feel that way.
Things were going to be different now, and the brunette had to take the very first step into finally being able to live normally. Luna didn't feel prepared for the night ahead of her. She didn't even have something as simple as a ride, and she already knew that she was going to have to ask Aubrey for one.
Luna wanted to back out the second she sent that message to Aubrey, but she knew better than to do that. There was no way the redhead would take no for an answer, especially after she already agreed to it.
The girl didn't even want to imagine the variety of stares she would get just by walking into a house party. The feeling of just knowing that everyone's eyes were on her made Luna want to throw up. She already got enough of that at school.
A large part of Luna was hoping that she would end up seeing Peter there since it would make everything so much better. However, Luna knew that Peter would probably avoid her just like how she avoided him during that period of time. The girl had to admit to herself that she missed him, and would give anything just to be near him. The whole thing was strange, especially since Luna hadn't felt this way about anyone.
Peter was nice to her, and all she did was push him away even though she didn't want to. Peter didn't seem like the type of person to go to one of these things, but knowing that he was going to be there made the girl feel a little at ease.
Luna constantly found herself thinking about him for the past couple weeks, and she just hoped that he was thinking about her as well.

Aubrey was sitting in the driver's seat, not being able to contain her smile as she drove. Just having Luna sit next to her in the passenger's seat made her feel excited. It took all year for Aubrey to convince Luna to do something like this, and she couldn't help but feel accomplished. Aubrey Morgan was the type of girl who enjoyed hanging out with her friends at parties, but she was also glad that she could finally hang out with her quiet friend.
