This was by far the last thing Peter Parker ever thought would happen tonight. He was currently hugging the girl he fell so hard for, and he couldn't quite believe it. Peter had never held Luna like this before, and he couldn't help but feel surprised. The feeling was indescribable.
The cold wind was rustling through the trees, and Luna felt how red her cheeks were getting as she held the boy. Luna no longer cared about anything else at the moment except for the brown-haired boy who had his strong arms wrapped around her waist. The girl couldn't control her breathing, mostly because she was so relieved to see Peter after the situation that happened inside.
Peter was also having a shitty night just sitting outside and looking at the stars. Somehow Ned had convinced him to come to this stupid party, and Peter was dumb enough to agree to it in the long run. The boy didn't have anything against Liz Allan, or her house parties, but this wasn't exactly what Peter Parker liked to do on a Friday night. He would've much rather been out in the streets in his suit, like he always did.
However, he couldn't help but feel a little glad that he actually came once he ran into Luna Pearce.
The two were holding one another, and Peter was getting more confused by the second. It also didn't help that he was completely flustered.
It took a moment for the boy to realize that Luna was crying, soft sniffling coming from her runny nose. The sound made Peter's heart ache.
"Hey.." Peter softly spoke, gently pushing Luna away so he was able to look at her. He leaned his head down in hopes to look into her eyes, but there was no such luck as the girl turned her head away, refusing to let him see her in such a state.
Peter quickly looked around, making sure no one was paying attention to them as he took Luna's hand and led her to the side of the house.
It was dark and quiet, especially since the house was so large and there wasn't anyone around. It made Luna feel 10 times better just being alone with the person who somehow made her feel safe.
Peter Parker never expected to see Luna as Liz's house. It was so strange just randomly seeing her in a place like this, and the boy almost thought he was imagining things when he saw her.
He was sitting on one of the chairs, his elbows resting on his knees as he was admiring the stars. Ned was busy inside, along with MJ and Betty while Peter decided to lay low in the backyard without risking Flash humiliating him in front of everyone just like he did the time before, which was almost a year ago.
It was then that Peter realized it was Luna who rushed out of the back door, looking like she was being suffocated from being inside that house. Peter couldn't quite believe his eyes at first, and he was even more surprised one he knew that it was really her.
Normally, Peter would keep his distance since the two weren't exactly on the best terms, but just seeing how on edge she looked, he knew he had to see if she was okay.
