Luna saw his face.

His handsome and glowing features.

His loving expression that was staring right back at her with eyes full of light.

The face of her father.

The way he was looking at her made the girl want to sprint towards him. He was waiting for her, and she was gladly accepting his offer to come closer.

David Pearce was a loving father who was willing to do anything for his family. He went above and beyond to make sure that his wife and daughter wouldn't have to worry about a single thing.

When he first met Shannon in college many years ago, she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his whole entire life. He saw her from a distance, but she was enough for everyone else who was at that frat party to disappear.

They locked eyes, and that was it.

Shannon and David became a couple, and it wasn't long before he proposed to her right after they graduated. They were young and in love, which meant they didn't want to waste another second not being married.

So that's what they did.

Shannon and David Pearce were happily married, and that's as al they needed in order for them to start their life together.

After two years of marriage, the couple finally decided to try and start a family.

And then came Luna Pearce.

She was everything they ever wanted.

They were such a loving family. Luna was the happiest little girl, and she had an amazing relationship with her parents. It was almost impossible for Luna Pearce to be unhappy. All the girls her age envied how much she was so full of life.

But everything changed when Luna was 15 years old.

David Pearce passed away from stage 4 lung cancer.

He died from a disease that his own wife and daughter didn't even know about.

He didn't want them to worry.

He didn't want them to be scared.

Luna Pearce couldn't help but resent him for what he did after his death. She couldn't even process the fact that he didn't tell her what he was dealing with, and instead Luna was just slammed with it when he was already gone.
