Peter Parker felt jittery throughout the entire school day, becoming anxious to get to his last class, only to see Luna Pearce. After talking to her the night before, he felt as if he saw a new side to her. Never once had he seen Luna smile or even laugh. It was the greatest feeling ever and he was glad to witness such a thing, and he would give anything just to see it again. However, Luna didn't know Peter was the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and he didn't intend in telling her either. So, the boy was completely aware that Luna wouldn't act the same with him as she would with Spider-Man.

"Dude, if you're just going to stab at your mashed potatoes, let me have them."

Peter blinked, coming back to reality as he had zoned out for a few minutes. He looked at Ned, who was grinning at Peter's lunch.

The boy sighed as he shifted the tray in front of his friend.

"What's with you today? You seem out of it." Ned asked, picking up a forkful of food.

"I was out late last night. Didn't get much sleep." Peter claimed. It was partly true. Peter was constantly out late on most nights saving the city from any danger. It was his job, and he knew he had to live up to it.

"Oh come on." Ned laughed. "You should know by now that I can tell when you're lying."

Peter raised an eyebrow. "What? I'm not lying."

"Look," Ned began to explain. "I know you're actually tired and all with being Spider-Man, but I know what's really on your mind." He stated. "Thinking about Luna?"

The secret hero sighed, defeated with his best friend's intelligence.

"I saw her last night." Peter told him, slightly smiling just thinking about it. "She actually talked to me."

Ned grinned, his whole attention on the brunette boy. "Wow. That's gotta mean something right? What did she say?"

Peter coughed awkwardly, his lips forming into a thin line. "Well she didn't talk to me." He said. "She talked to Spider-Man."

"You were in the suit?" Ned asked, Peter nodding in response.

"Well it shouldn't matter." Ned shrugged. "I mean she was still talking to your true self."

Peter shook his head. "Spider-Man is completely different from myself."

It was Ned's turn to furrow his eyebrows. "But you are Spider-Man." He told him. "You're the same person, even behind the mask."

Ned knew about Peter's insecurities when it came to comparing himself and his secret identity. Peter constantly explained to Ned how different he was from everyone's beloved superhero in Queens, even though they were the exact same person. Peter hardly recognized himself being in the suit. He felt this new confidence that he never felt being Peter Parker, and Ned never understood that.
