Luna and Shannon got back to their apartment as fast as they could. The teen thought she would've calmed down once they got there, but she was still freaking out as they barged through the front door.

The two were out of breath as Shannon slammed the door shut behind them, locking it tight.

The woman was on edge, and she was breathing heavily as she kept looking out of the peephole.

Luna carefully watched her mother, and she could tell just how scared the woman was still feeling. What they went through was definitely chilling. The last thing the two girls expected was for something like this to happen. Luna wanted to explain this to her, but she wasn't able to. How could she clear this up when she didn't even know what was going on herself?

"Mom, you need to calm down." The girl said, watching as the older woman paced around the living room.

"Calm down?" Shannon looked at her in disbelief. "Do you not realize what just happened?" She scoffed. "We were almost killed!"

"But we weren't." Luna shook her head, fidgeting around with her shaking fingers. "We were able to get away, and now we need to try and stay calm-"

"I can't Luna," her mother refused. "He did all this. Rick- or Vince or whatever the hell his name is! He's responsible for almost killing you. He had a gun pointed to your head and he was going to pull the trigger."

"I know,," the brunette nodded her head. "but I just need to figure out what happened before I start freaking out."

"He was abusing you all this time." Shannon helplessly looked at her daughter with tears forming in her eyes. "You went through hell when he was living here."

Luna stood quiet, biting her lip as she tried to prevent herself from crying as well.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Shannon sniffed.

The brunette sighed, weakly shrugging her shoulders. "I couldn't." She replied. "I was too afraid."

"It would've changed everything." Shannon quickly responded, rushing over to Luna and holding her still. "I need you to know that I would've never let him stay here if I knew about it."

The girl just stared at her mom, not knowing what to say. She wanted to believe that Shannon would've prevented all of it, but it was also too painful to even think about what would've happened if the woman wouldn't have believed her.

"You could've died." Shannon shook her head as she cried. "You almost died because of me. I wasn't able to protect you."

Luna shook out of her mom's grasp. "Don't say that." She ordered. "He was planning this all along and we just happened to be the dysfunctional family he chose to destroy even more."
