Some people didn't get what others went through, and it sucked knowing that you couldn't tell them without looking like a pathetic freak. High school students had no problem putting other people's feelings down, especially when it came to a certain girl.

Luna Pearce was an easy target, and she knew that people enjoyed talking about her behind her back. It was no secret that the girl was a loner, but it still hurt whenever she heard the whispers about her when other students walked passed. She was standing near her locker, facing away from the swarm of students as she gathered her books. Luna didn't fail to overhear a few comments as a group of girls muttered names in her direction. You would think Luna became used to it by now, but it only grew worse over time.

It was a Wednesday morning, and Luna was dreading the school day ahead of her. She had two tests that she was bound to fail, and the girl also didn't like the idea of going to 6th period. Everyday Luna despised going to her English class, not wanting to see the beautiful eyes that belonged to Peter Parker. The whole thing was silly, mostly because all Luna wanted was to talk to him, but at the same time she didn't. It was complicated.

Little did Luna know, as she stood in front of her locker, there stood Peter Parker standing all the way across the hall near Ned's locker, his attention drawn to the back of her head. His eyebrows were furrowed to the max, wanting nothing more than to just swallow his frustration and walk up to her. The boy just wanted to hear her voice, and maybe even try and get the girl to talk to him after not speaking to each other at all for the past two weeks. Peter stared at the girl, afraid that she would randomly turn around and catch him looking at her, but a small part of him actually hoped that it would happen. That way he could at least get her attention for one second.

"Earth to Peter?" A voice rung through the boy's ears, causing him to lightly shake his head and focus on what was going on.

"Hm?" Peter looked at his friend.

Ned sighed, rolling his eyes at the brunette. "You're doing it again." He told him.

"Doing what?" Peter asked.

"That thing you always do these days." Ned pointed out, gesturing to the girl across the hall. "Staring at Luna and completely ignoring the fact that I'm talking to you."

It was Peter's turn to roll his eyes. "That's not what I'm doing." He grumbled, lazily crossing hs arms.

"Oh yeah?" Ned questioned. "What was I talking about for the last 5 minutes?"

Peter mentally cursed, having no idea what Ned had been babbling about the entire time his focus was set on Luna. He had been so worried about the girl lately, he couldn't help but look at her for minutes on end whenever she came into his line of sight.

"You were talking about Star Wars." Peter shrugged, his answer coming out smoothly.

"What about Star Wars?" Ned smirked.
