The collaboration project of the Art Club and ITOrg smoothly continue until the exact school foundation day. Their hardwork is paid off because their exhibit is the most visited as different artist of the Art Club showcase their artistic talent right before their audience's eyes.
"Congratulations on the success of this project Althea Marie." Thirdy gladly told Althea.
"Congratulations to us, Thirdy. Mabuti na lang you come up with this idea." Althea replied.
"And we are glad you accepted it." Thirdy said.
"Sayang, we could have done this before pa. Senior High school na tayo next year, baka hindi na natin magawa ang ganitong activity, since mas magiging busy na tayo sa senior year natin." Althea said.
"Why are you planning to transfer school on your senior high?" Thirdy said.
"Hindi naman, but syempre hindi na tayo ang hahawak ng art club at ITOrg. We have to pass it on sa mga juniors." Althea said.
"We can have other collaboration work. Nakita mo naman how the new technology works on your art work." Thirdy said.
"Yes you have a point in that, but please don't get offended, I enjoy doing my work using the present technology but I like making my masterpieces using the traditional way. My paint brush and color palette will always be my best friend. I can't live a day without them." Althea said.
"How I wish paint brush na lang ako." Thirdy said.
"Huh? Pick up line ba yan?" Althea asked smiling.
"Slight, wag mo nang basagin please." Thirdy said.
"O sige na nga, pagbibigyan kita. Aber, bakit mo naman gustong maging paint brush?" Althea asked
"Para you can't live a day without me." Thirdy replied and Althea could not help but laugh at him.
"I'm sorry for laughing, hindi ko napigil eh, ang korni na inulit mo lang yung sinabi ko eh." Althea said.
"I don't mind na pagtawanan mo ako, ang importante napatawa kita." Thirdy uttered and Althea just smiles at him. "Speaking of Senior High School, have you decided about your strand?" he asked.
"Pinag-iisipan pa ba yun, ABM of course, I need to prepare myself for a huge responsibility ahead. This early, my dad is already talking about retiring, he is just waiting for me to finish my schooling." Althea replied. "How about you, have you decided your strand?" Althea asked
"STEM of course, hindi na ako lalayo sa science and technology." Thirdy replied.
"But isn't your dad eyeing you to handle your business in Cebu?" Althea asked.
"I don't know yet. Hindi ko alam kung kaya kong hawakan ang business, my sister is doing a good job, siguro mas magandang kung sya na lang." Thirdy said.
"Bakit naman hindi mo kakayanin? Kung kaya ng ate mo, siguradong kaya mo rin." Althea said.
"Madali lang siguro, if I am interested. I actually don't see myself, managing the Royalties Hotel. This early, I can say that it is not my cup of tea. I cannot tolerate an annoying hotel guests. I cannot endure irritating employees. In short I really don't have patience in dealing with different kind of people." Thirdy said.
"Kawawa naman ang dad at sister mo, looks like only the two of them are stuck in taking care of your family business." Althea said.
"Mas kawawa ang buong pamilya namin, if we lose the business due to incompetence of the one managing it." Thirdy said.
"So what is your plan in the future? Don't tell me you don't have at least one." Althea asked.
"Finish my study, I guess. That's one." Thirdy replied.
"And then?" Althea asked.
"And then what? Matagal pa naman ang future na sinasabi mo, I still have a lot of time to think about it." Thirdy said.
"Hindi ba mas maganda kung ngayon pa lang pinag-iisipan mo na yan para mapaghandaan mo?" Althea asked.
"Hindi ba mas maganda if I enjoy my youth first, since minsan lang naman ako teenager." Thirdy replied. "You talk as if, you already know what's in store for you in the future." He said.
"Yes, as mentioned earlier, I am preparing myself in managing our business immediately after I graduate in College. Then I will also take my MBA while I handle the business and have my one-woman-exhibit." Althea said
"Whhooaaa, that is huge, nasaan dun yung enjoying your youth? I did not hear about going out with your friends." Thirdy asked.
"I am enjoying my youth while I am preparing myself for the future. I don't have to go out with my friends very often. I can do that once in a while and it does not need to be included in my future plan." Althea said
"That is very admirable, how do you do that?" Thirdy asked.
"Proper time management, a big portion of my time is allotted to my studies. Every Saturday, I am having my training for the family business, then I do some of my art works in my free time every weekend." Althea replied.
"I can't do that, sa soccer practice ko pa lang kulang na kulang na ang oras ko, wala pa dun yung gimik namin ng mga friends ko." Thirdy said.
"Soccer and gimik with friends, parang hindi ko narinig yung tungkol sa studies mo ah." Althea commented.
"Given naman na yung studies eh, I have no choice but to finish that." Thirdy said.
"Just that? Do you want to graduate with flying colors and make your parents proud?" Althea asked.
"My parents do not expect me to excel in my studies, my dad said as long as I don't waste their money because of failed grades, he does not mind if I am not as good as my two sisters." Thirdy said.
"I can't believe I am hearing that. Don't you want your parents to be proud of you?" Althea asked.
"Althea, being an honor student is not the only way to make your parents proud. As long as I don't give them a failing grade then that would be enough. As the saying goes, you only live once. Therefore make the most out of it, enjoy and be merry." Thirdy replied.
"I don't know about you Thirdy, but enjoying and being merry today will not guarantee that you will have a stable means to feed your family in the future." Althea said.
"There are a lot of financial institutions who offers investment programs where our finances will earn interest that will support my future family." Thirdy said.
"I still believe that I should not bank on to my parent's resources, I have to have the means to support myself and survive." Althea said.
