42 - House Rules

On their way home, Thirdy was too worried at Althea. This is the first time he saw her too agitated. He offered to bring her home but she begs off and hurriedly leaves Thirdy and Rebecca as soon as the drive arrives at the snack house. He continuously sends viber messages to her to ensure that she is alright. "Nasa subdivision na kami." was Althea's brief and last viber message to him.

When Althea arrived home she saw Laura watering the plant in the garden and the queen on the house stops what she is doing when she sees Althea arrived.

"Good evening, Mom." Althea greeted Laura and the latter coldly accepted the greetings.

"Go and change, I will wait for you in your Dad's office." Laura told Althea and walks towards the house.

Althea was left dumbfounded, since she was little, her dad's office is the part of the house which she does not want to go into. Most of the time her Dad and her Mom uses the room to discuss about the business as well as the important things about family. As much as possible she and her siblings avoids going into this part of the house.

"Ate, where have you been? We are waiting for you for two hours already." Vino said when she meets him along the stairs.

"I watched Thirdy's game. Di ba sinabi ko sa iyo at nagpaalam din ako kay Mommy." Althea replied to Vino.

"I know that, Ate. But we are expecting you to be home before six." Vino said.

"Kumain pa kasi kami eh." Althea said.

"Did you call Mom that you will be late going home?" Vino asked.

"I forgot to do that, nawili kasi ako sa kwentuhan namin ni Thirdy at Rebecca." Althea replied.

"Sige na Ate, bilisan mo nang magpalit ng damit. I'm sure Mom is already waiting for you sa office ni Daddy." Vino said.

"Why am I in trouble?" Althea asked.

"I can't believe you asked that Ate. Did you forget? Sasama tayo dapat kila Dad Daniel at Mama Allie magwatch ng movie." Vino replied.

"Oh my goodness, I forgot about that." Althea said.

"Sila Lauren, Carrie at Nathan na lang ang sumama sa kanila." Vino said.

"Bakit hindi ka sumama?" Althea asked.

"I want to be here in case you will need me." Vino said and Althea got moved at her brother's declaration.

"Thank you bro." Althea said. "Sige palit lang ako ng damit. Ayokong maghintay nang matagal si Mommy." She added then she quickly runs to her room to change.

A few minutes after, Laura heard someone knocking at the door. "Get in." She said then the door opens and Althea came in. "Sit down." Laura firmly said.

"Mom, I'm sorry." Althea immediately replied.

"Why are you apologizing?" Laura asked.

"I was not able to call you after the game. Thirdy invited Rebecca and I to have some snacks. Nalibang ako sa kwentuhan namin and I was unable to noticed the time." Althea explained.

"You were not able to notice the time and my numerous calls.  Do you know how much you made all of us worried? You were not answering your phone and the driver was waiting for you for more than an hour. Nakalabas na daw ang lahat ng tao na nonood ng game pero wala syang nakitang Althea na lumabas. Pati si Alice inistorbo ko pa to confirm na naihatid ka nya sa venue. At pati sya nag-alala sa iyo. " Laura asked.
