Things went back to normal for Thirdy and Althea few weeks after the locking-up incident.  Like the usual, Thirdy and Althea mostly seen sitting on the bench near the gate to wait for their driver after their class.  One day, Althea got a nice surprise when sees a familiar face approaching.

“Daddy.” She is excitedly exclaimed and runs towards Victor.  “What are you doing here?” she asked.

“I had a meeting within the vicinity so I decided to pick you up.” Victor replied.

“Good afternoon, Sir.” Thirdy greeted.

“Good afternoon, Thirdy.  Anong ginagawa nyong dalawa dito?” Victor asked.

“Waiting for our sundo.” Althea replied. “Actually ako lang pala.  Sinamahan lang ako ni Thirdy sa paghihintay.” She further said.

“How will you get home, Thirdy?” Victor asked.

“Mag-commute lang po ako.  Sa Sta. Rosa po kasi ako uuwi today.” Thirdy replied.

“So are you leaving now?” Victor asked.

“Yes, Sir.  I can now leave since dumating na po ang sundo ni Althea.” Thirdy replied.

“Come on, let us drop you off kahit sa sakayan lang.” Victor offered but Thirdy was quick to decline.

“Thank you for the offer, Sir.  But I can get a ride dyan lang po across the street.” Thirdy politely replied.

“Ikaw ang bahala.” Victor briefly replied.

“Sir!” they heard someone called and saw Santino rushing towards them.

“Santino, do you need anything?” Victor asked.

“Nothing, Sir.  I just want to say my ‘hello’ to you.” Santino replied.

“That is a very thoughtful gesture, Santino.  Mukhang kakagaling mo lang sa practice ah.” Victor commented.

“Yes, Sir.  We are preparing for an important game.” Santino replied.

“Goodluck on your game then.  I remember when I was still your age.  My brother and I used to play basketball, too.  Though we were not able to try-out for the school varsity.” Victor replied.

“Perhaps we could play sometime, Sir.” Santino said and Victor took the invitation as if Santino is proving on something, and that is his excellent basketball skills and if his hunch is correct, bragging is the best word to describe it.

“Not a bad idea, I will ask Daniel if he could join us.” Victor said.

“Great, sali ka sa amin Thirdy para 2-on-2 tayo.” Santino said.

“Basketball is not his thing, Santino.” Althea butts-in.

“Oo nga pala, hindi ka marunong mag-basketball kasi soccer ang sports mo.” Santino sarcastically commented.

“I know the basics in basketball, my dad thought me.  I can join you if Sir Victor will permit me.” Thirdy said.
