After the family day at school, the Reyes family went straight to their mansion in Makati to have their dinner. Thirdy could not deny his happiness dining again with his parents. He recalls that they only have this kind of instances on Christmas and New Year's vacation. And Thirdy also agrees to sleepover at the mansion and spend more time with his parents.
"Thirdy." Richard called when he sees his son alone at the lanai.
"Dad, bakit hindi ka pa nagpapahinga? You and Mom had a long day today. From the airport you went straight to my school for the event. Masama sa iyo ang mapagod, Dad." Thirdy said
"We did not travel by air for thirteen hours therefore I'm fine. Mas matagal pa nga yung pinaghintay namin sa airport kesa sa byahe namin. Pati na rin yung travel from the airport to your school, imagine mas mabilis pa yung byahe namin from Cebu to Manila." Richard said.
"Di bale, pagdating ni Ate Athena we will immediately fly to Cebu para kumpleto tayo." Thirdy said.
"I am looking forward to that, I missed your Ate Athena also." Richard said.
"Thank you for coming to my school event, Dad. This means so much to me." Thirdy said.
"I understand they don't have this kind of event sa school nyo once you reach senior high school. So technically, this is your last Family day and I don't want to miss it, like the three previous years. Mabuti na lang, napilit ko yung doctor ko na payagan akong magbyahe dito sa Manila." Richard said.
"On the condition that you will not come here for work, I know that, Dad. Mommy already told me." Thirdy said.
"Naunahan na naman ako ng mahal na reyna." Richard uttered.
"She just missed me so much, that's why excited na syang magkwento." Thirdy said, giggling.
"I know, son and I missed you so much too." Richard said.
"I missed the king and the queen too, Dad." Thirdy replied.
"How are you son? How's the prince of the family?" Richard asked.
"Ok lang naman, Dad. Sobrang busy na sa school kasi malapit na ang finals." Thirdy replied. "Sorry Dad ha, mukhang hindi kayo aakyat ng stage on my graduation, unlike nung kay Ate Charmaine at Ate Athena." He apologized.
"No need to apologized, son. Hindi naman namin hinihingi ng mommy nyo na paakyatin kami sa stage. It is enough that you do well in school. Ready ka na ba for your senior high. Hindi pa rin ba nagbabago ang isip mo? STEM pa rin ba ang gusto mo?" Richard said.
"Dad, please understand. Mas gusto ko ang IT kesa business administration." Thirdy said.
"I understand son, believe me I do. Baka lang kasi magbago ang isip mo kung sakaling ako ang magtanong eh. At least I give it a try." Richard said.
"I'm sorry, Dad, I know this is another disappointment." Thirdy said.
"Stop apologizing Thirdy, your mom and I does not want you to take course just to please us. Kayo din ang mahihirapan kung hindi nyo gusto yung course nyo. I don't want that to happen." Richard said. "If you want information technology, then go ahead and take it. And please, I don't want to hear you say that you are a disappointment, because you are not." He added.
"Thanks Dad, baka si Luke or Lily, magmana kay Ate. Perhaps they can take over the business when they grow up." Thirdy said.
"Don't worry about the business, son. We will take care of it. And when the time comes that my doctor forbids me to continue working, we might sell some shares to someone interested to run it." Richard said.
