Victor and Daniel took less than an hour to reach the restaurant where Richard Reyes, Sr. requested to meet them. They were surprised when the restaurant staff assisted them going to an exclusive function room.
"Ganito ba kaimportante ang usapan na ito at kailangang nasa exclusive room pa?" Daniel asked his brother.
"I don't know, I am just expecting na sa dining area lang tayo." Victor replied.
"Wala man lang bang binanggit kung para saan ang usapan na ito, Kuya?" Daniel asked.
"I asked him about that, pero hindi naman sinabi eh." Victor replied.
Richard, Sr. is already at the venue when the Monteiro brothers arrived. He was all smile when they enter the small function room of the restaurant.
"I'm sorry for the abrupt notice and thank you for coming Victor and Daniel. I really appreciate this." Richard Sr. said.
"I sensed that this talk is important that was why I did not hesitate to accept the invitation." Victor replied.
"Order anything you like, it's on me." Richard Sr. said.
"Coffee will do. My wife will cook my favorite later for dinner, ayoko pong mawalan ng ganang kumain." Victor politely replied.
"So what is this talk all about, Sir?" Daniel asked.
"I would like to ask permission from both of you." Richard, Sr. replied.
"Permission for what, Sir?" Victor asked.
"Please let me take care of you mother." Richard, Sr. replied.
"Excuse me, sir. Did I hear you right? You were asking us to allow you to take care of our mother?" Daniel asked.
"You heard me right." Richard, Sr. replied.
"And why would you like to do that? Do you think we are not capable of taking care of our own mother?" Victor asked.
"Please don't get me wrong Victor. According to Aurora, she already told you about us and that is where I am coming from." Richard, Sr. replied.
"Yes, she told us about you and her. But that was before when she was still fifteen years old." Daniel said.
"At wala po syang nabanggit about you and her, at present." Victor seconded.
"Can we just go straight to the point here? Are you and my mother in a relationship? Is this your subtle way of asking us for her hand?" Daniel straightly asked.
"No we are not, though we remained good friends." Richard, Sr. replied.
"You are only good friends, not even best friends. Also, according to you, you are not in a relationship, so what made you believe that we will let you take care of Mama?" Victor said.
"I love her." Richard, Sr. replied.
"We love her too, therefore you are no exception." Victor straightly said.
"I'm sorry, Sir but I don't think I could grant your request. I don't about my brother but it is a 'NO' for me. Kaya naming alagaan si Mama, but thank you for the offer anyway." Daniel uttered.
"It is a 'No' for me, too." Victor seconded. "We are her family, we should be that one to take care of her." He added.
"But how can you do that if you have your own family to take care of? Paano nyo aalagaan ang Mama nyo kung nasa Italy sya at nandito kayo sa Pilipinas?" Richard, Sr. asked.
