13 - Ally

Althea remains sitting at the couch despite hearing someone opens the door. As far as she knows, only she and Madam Chairman have the keys to the rest house she is in now located in Tagaytay. She does not have strength to move as she feels very tired due to lack of sleep plus different things running on her mind.

After her talk with Victor and Laura, so many questions came in and the more she seeks the answer, another question adds up. She called her Mamita several times the previous night but the old lady did not pick up. She thought that since the truth came out, Mamita prefers not to talk to her for a while.

"The next time that you make me worried, you'll be grounded for two weeks." Mamita said as soon as she enters the house and sees her slouching on the couch.

"I was calling you but you were ignoring my call." Althea sadly replied.

"I was not, perhaps tulog na ako nung tumawag ka. Medyo napagod kasi ako dun sa event na pinuntahan ko, kaya maaga akong nakatulog. Ako pa ba ang hindi sasagot sa tawag mo? Ayoko kayang magtampo ka sa akin. Sabi nung guard, pumunta ka daw sa mansion, bakit hindi mo ako ginising? We could have run away together." Mamita sweetly said then sat beside Althea on the couch.

"You'll do that for me?" Althea asked.

"Of course, I am offended, because until now, you don't see me as an ally." Mamita said.

"I don't want to disturb you, Mamita. Also, I thought ayaw mo na akong kausapin since alam ko na ang tutoo. Ewan ko po Mamita, there's so many things running on my mind right now." Althea replied.

"I can help you sort things out, if you let me." Mamita said while she sweetly strokes Althea's hair. "Why don't we talk about it over breakfast, may dala akong food for you." She added.

"Wala po akong ganang kumain, Mamita." Althea replied.

"Sige na baby, kahit konti lang, mukhang hindi ka pa nagbreakfast eh" Aurora said.

"Nag pancake na po ako sa McDo before I went here." Althea said.

"I'm so glad na dito ka nagpunta." Aurora said.

"Alam ba nila Daddy kung nasaan ako?" Altheas asked.

"I did not tell them. Di ba secret nating dalawa ang place na 'to." Aurora said.

"The first time you brought me here. Sabi mo po, I can come here when I feel confused or at least wanted to be alone. Tell me the truth Mamita, kaya mo ba binili ang property na 'to kasi you know that this will happen?" Althea asked.

"With all honesty baby, yes, ako ang pinakamatagal mong kasama, kaya ako ang mas nakakakilala sa iyo. Alam ko na kapag upset ka, gusto mong mapag-isa. When you are confused, you want to spend time alone with yourself too. Pinaghandaan ko ang revelation tungkol sa pagkatao mo, baby, that's why I acquire this property for you. Para hindi ka na pupunta sa lugar na hindi ako sigurado kung magiging safe ka." Mamita explained.

"Why did they give me away?" Althea asked.

"Daniel and Allona love you very much Althea." Aurora said.

"Mamita, you don't give away someone you claim that you love." Althea said.

"That is not true, you don't hold on to the person you love if you think there will be a better life in store for that person, away from you. But that does not mean na hindi ka na nagmamahal, you just choose to love that person afar kasi yung ang makakabuti para sa kanya." Aurora explained.

"I don't understand, di ba, kapag mahal mo dapat kasama mo." Althea said.

"Hay naku baby, bata ka pa talaga, masyadong mababaw ang tingin mo sa pagmamahal." Mamita commented. "If you believe na dapat laging magkasama ang nagmamahal, paano na yung mga OFWs" she asked.
