40 - Balance

Unlike the earlier days, Althea is already used to Rebecca's presence in some events she and Thirdy attended to. She already accepted that she shared the girl bestfriend spot in Thirdy's life with Rebecca.

In every encounter that she has with Rebecca, she slowly sees how warm of a person she is. She is a meticulous girl too and very keen to details, just like her.

Althea admits that Rebecca is fun to be with. Though what puzzles her is the inconsistency of Rebecca's treatment to Thirdy. There were times that she is very sweet to Thirdy and there were also times that she took him for granted. And this inconsistency gives Althea the uncertainties on Rebecca's treatment to her.

"I'm sorry, I'm late, Althea. Did you wait long?" She heard Alice asked her. They are set visit the MWAS stores in Manila area one Saturday morning.

"I arrived almost an hour ago but it is fine, Ms. Alice. I understand." Althea replied.

"Are you ready to go Althea?" Alice asked.

"Yes Ms. Alice, we can go now." Althea replied.

"Let's go then." Alice said. "Manang-mana ka talaga sa Mommy mo, ayaw na ayaw ma-late." Alice said while they walk towards the lift.

"Ms. Alice, I hope you won't mind me asking. I just want to know until what time is our visit to the different MWAS stores?" she asked.
Alice smiles at her as the latter understand what exactly does she means. "We haven't started and yet you want to go home already?" She asked teasing.

"I am just asking Ms. Alice." Althea said and Alice smiles at her as the latter sees Laura in her because of that little sarcasm on her replied.

"May lakad ka ba?" Alice asked and Althea smiles while shooking her head.

"Not exactly, gusto ko lang malaman kung makakaabot pa ako sa soccer game ng friend this afternoon." Althea replied.

"Gusto mong manood ng soccer game ng friend mo?" Alice asked.

"Yes, only if possible. Of course, this store visit is more important than that soccer game." Althea said. "I just want to know so that I could warn my friend not to expect me anymore." She explained.

"Saan ba ang soccer game na yan?" Alice asked.

"Sa Taft po." Althea replied.

"Nagpaalam ka ba kay Laura or kay Victor?" Alice asked again.

"Yes Ms. Alice. Sabi ni Mommy, text ko daw sya sa last stop natin, para masundo ako ng driver, in case makahabol ako." Althea replied.

"Tell your Mom, na ako na lang ang maghahatid sa iyo sa venue para hindi sayang ang gasolina. Tamang-tama, Adriatico branch is our last stop, malapit na yun sa venue ng soccer game ng friend mo." Alice said.

"Thank you Ms. Alice, but please only if possible. Kung hindi talaga kakayanin, may next time pa naman eh." Althea said.

"Crucial game ba ang papanoorin mong game?" Alice asked.

"Actually championship game na ngayon and represented din kasi ng team nila yung school namin kaya gusto kong panoorin, to give moral support na rin sa school." Althea said.

"Hmmm ... dapat pala talagang manood ka nung game, not only because of your friend but to give moral support to your school." Alice uttered and she gains a sweet smile from Althea.

"Pero no pressure ha, Ms. Alice." Althea said.

"Well noted, future Ms. President. Don't worry, I'll make sure na mabilis lang ito." Alice assured Althea.
