On Monday afternoon after class, Althea got surprised to see Thirdy standing outside her classroom.
“Uy Thirdy, what are you doing here? Wala ka bang soccer practice?” Althea asked.
“Tapos na.” Thirdy replied then he took the books Althea was holding.
“Thank you.” Althea said. “Mabuti na lang napadaan ka dito sa room namin, may taga dala ako nung mga books ko.” She added while they walk together going to their favorite bench.
“Hindi naman ako napadaan lang, hinintay talaga kita.” Thirdy said.
“Wow ha, ano ang kailangan mo, bakit mo ako hinihintay?” Althea asked
“Wala lang. Nanliligaw ako eh, syempre kailangan umpisahan ko nang mas alagaan ka.” Thirdy replied, smiling. “Bakit ka natigilan? The last time your two Dads and I talked, they already gave me the wooing permission. Ayaw mo pa ba Thea?” He asked
“What if ayoko nga, anong gagawin mo?” Althea asked.
“Nothing, pareho pa rin ng dati. Maghihintay pa rin ako kung kelan pwede.” Thirdy replied.
“So hindi mo na rin ako susunduin sa classroom ko after ng last class ko like today?” Althea said.
“Ayaw mo ba? Just tell me if you feel awkward ha. I can wait you sa bench gaya ng dati.” Thirdy said.
“It is not that, naninibago lang siguro ako. Parang last week lang, naghihintay ka lang sa akin sa bench. Pero ngayon biglang nasa labas ka na ng classroom namin naghihintay.” Althea said.
“Again, just let me know if you are not comfortable with this set-up. Naisip ko lang naman na mas maganda siguro na puntahan na lang kita sa last class mo. Mahirap na baka maulit pa yun nangyari noon kasi mag-isa ka lang.” Thirdy explained.
“Grabe ka sa akin, do you think I cannot take care of myself?” Althea asked.
“Hindi naman, but it would be better if someone will take care of you, too.” Thirdy replied.
“Someone like you?” Althea asked.
“Yes, someone like me.” Thirdy replied and they both sat on the their favorite bench. “But of course, it does not mean I will forbid other guys to show interest in you. I don’t have the right to do that for now.” He added.
“For now? Wow ha, that is new. Confident ka nang magiging boyfriend kita.” Althea commented.
“Hindi naman masyado, pampalakas lang ng loob. Pero tell me honestly, binawi ba ng Daddy mo yung deal natin? Do I still have to wait for you to finish your senior high school?” Thirdy asked.
“Wala naman nabanggit si Daddy na binawi nya yung deal nyo.” Althea replied.
“How about you? Ok lang ba talaga sa iyo na manligaw na ako. The priviledge of winning the game does not change my mind that I will wait for you if you feel you are not yet ready for the wooing part.” Thirdy said.
