"No way out
You can talk the talk but it doesn't matter
No way out
Cause I'm walking right into a disaster
You know it used to be fun but not anymore
So right now
It's more than I can afford
No way out"
-Dead Girls Academy, "No Way Out"
I live in this crappy town in New Jersey. I want to leave the town, not New Jersey. I love New Jersey more than I love my mother. This town happens to be probably the worst town in New Jersey because it contains the worst people. There's no escape.
I can't wait to graduate and go to college and graduate and get a job doing what I love in South Jersey. I love art. I want to draw, paint, design, I want to do anything that involves art.
When I get asked that annoying question that is "What do you want to go to college for?" I always answer art. They give me a weird look and try to convince me to change my plans. My grandparents especially, but I'm going to get further in art than my grandma did being a girl scout leader and my grandpa being in the military.
I have artistic dreams that are painting covers for magazines. Designing or taking photos of somebody. I can even play guitar, so I'm pretty helpful when it comes to that. I have a lot to offer and I want them to notice that, but they don't see it.
Once I get out of this town, away from this family, I will be happy. I won't have to see my grandparents as much, maybe every holiday and I won't have to see the brats as much. My life will be perfect.
I will be living my best life in South Jersey by the beach. I will have many art projects to work on and I'll have friends to hang out with every weekend. I'll have a dog and cat in a small house or an average sized condo.
That's all I want, why can't people understand that?
