"You got the heart of a phoenix, So let them see you rise, Let them know that you mean it, Let them see you rise" -Olivia Holt, "Phoenix"
We have all heard the sayings, "If you love something, set it free" and "Try to reason about love and you will lose your reason". We have all heard those wise sayings at some point in our lives. I've made my own saying, I think. "If you love something and it leaves, it wasn't yours to keep". We may like someone or something and those feelings might be mutual or not reciprocated. Today I hung out with a good friend and my crush. My friend and my crush happen to be the best of friends, where their parents are friends so they always see each other. This good friend of mine likes my crush. I felt like a third wheel when I was hanging out with them. I felt like I wasn't included as much as I should have been. I like this boy a lot. I like my friend because she's a nice person to keep around. Clearly, I love both of these people in different ways. He left with her. "When you love something and it leaves, it wasn't yours to keep". Me and him were meant to be friends and I'm meant to continue being friends with his crush because his crush isn't me. I'm setting my feelings free and saying I don't like him anymore so that my friends can be more than friends and they can be happy. It's like a huge relief to set my crush aside and to just focus on my self and my friendships. Woooooo.
