"Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me
And every time we speak, word's don't do it justice
It's just us from here
Here, here
And that's when she said
Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me"
-I Prevail, "Every Time You Leave"
I don't know about you guys, but when I'm in school and I put earbuds in, it's like I have transferred to another universe. I feel like I'm more powerful than my entire school combined. Music blasting in my ears is such a rush and thrill and it makes everything else disappear and not matter.
You know how one thing can hold all the pain you have experienced in your life. For me, it's a song. You probably don't know the song, but it's "Bully" by Shinedown. Every time I listen to that song I feel all the pain I have ever felt in my entire life. I realized that it's ok that I pushed all of my pain into a song. I don't feel as much as I did before I heard that song. It took all my pain away and every time I listen to it I remember everything and push it right back into the song.
