It had been two years since Catra fell into a deep blackout. It all started when it was just a casual day...for fighting the Horde. It was assumed that she fell out of a skiff and her head took a really rough landing.
Two years later and Catra was still as stone. Adora remained frenzied ever since. She was distracted from everything: quality time with her friends, social events, even fighting. What could she do? Catra could be on the verge of death and she would probably be fighting or laughing with her friends. She spends every night by Catra's bed.
Scorpia would even sneak out to find her and when she found out Catra was in a rather injurious condition, she was absolutely crushed. Adora offered to let Scorpia visit her and would inform her the moment Catra is awake when she wasn't around.
Glimmer and Bow were trying everything they could to get Adora's mind off Catra for at least a moment. So they had a whole plan.
"I don't know, guys. I need to stay with her in case she wakes up." Adora said, fixing her bed.
"She's been out of it for two years. That's been a long time since you've had fun." Glimmer replied, teleporting to her bed.
"I don't have time for fun, she's in there and could probably wake up at any moment." Adora snapped.
"I'm not gonna judge but, why do you care so much about her? I mean, didn't she try to kill us? Multiple times?" Bow added.
"You guys don't understand, she was my best friend growing up in the Fright Zone. She was always misunderstood and mistreated by everyone. Bow, if Glimmer were to join the Horde unexpectedly, would you miss her and want to kill her?"
"Yes and no."
"Well, then you would know exactly how I feel."
"Come on, Adora! It doesn't look like Catra's going to wake up anytime soon. Maybe if you get out and punched something or relaxed, things will get better." Glimmer told Adora, laying her hand on her shoulder.
"Who knows? Something big could be happening just out the door." Bow grinned.
"ADORA!!" The three heard.
Scorpia then kicked the door open.
"Scorpia? You're here, early." Adora spoke.
"I know but, I went to sing Catra a lullaby and all of a sudden, her eyes just BAM! opened up." Scorpia claim and smiling like it was the happiest moment in her life. Matter of fact, it was.
Adora cupped a hand over her mouth. "She's awake." She breathed.
"Way to foreshadow, Glim." Bow elbowed Glimmer lightly on her ribs.
"I didn't know that would happen." Glimmer stammered.
"Are you positive that she's awake?" Adora responded, her eyes wide with anxiety.
"Will you just come on?!" Scorpia shouted, lifting Adora off her feet and carrying her on her back.

"Catra?" Adora whispered as Catra fluttered her eyes more open.
"Oh beautiful feline, you're alive. Don't you ever, ever scare me like that again!" Scorpia gushed.
"Woah, okay. Scorpia, I was only asleep." Catra spat, her voice sounding a tad dry.
"No, you weren't, " Adora told her.
"Hey, Adora."
"Catra," Adora whispered.
"How long was I asleep?" The cat-like girl asked.
