"Catra, you won't leave me, right?" A young Adora held a young Catra's hand, moving her fingers around hers.

"Why would I do that?" Catra asked her, kicking her leg lightly.

"I don't know. Shadow Weaver always tries to move us away and she's always saying that you're a bad person," Adora gasped. "Catra, I want you to promise me that you won't leave me. I promise you something, now it's your turn,"

"I promise. Forever," Catra smiled, cupping her cheeks with Adora holding her arms.

Adora nuzzled her nose on Catra's and both girls fell back to the ground, luckily it waking anyone.

Adora woke up to the memory that had appeared in her sleep. She rubbed her face. She saw Catra fast asleep on the edge of her–their bed. It had exactly a year since Catra joined the Rebellion and gained redemption and a few trusts from Etheria. Adora felt happy again. Catra was back. She was here and she wasn't evil.

Adora had noticed she and Catra had gotten closer since the war of Etheria ended. Lots had happened at that time. Causalities were carried throughout every kingdom, princesses and subjects were gravely injured, the newly sided Lord Hordak's fallout with his brother could have nearly been fatal for him had the princess Entrapta didn't help him, hearts were broken, friends became enemies, enemies became friends, and finally, the death of the Horde Prime.

Adora used her foot to pet Catra's fur. For a moment, Adora didn't see the young, former villain, she saw the girl she had spent most of her life with. She smiled and giggled at the things she and Catra used to do before the war drove them apart. The games they played, the stories they made up, the playful, oblivious banter they used to have as children.

If only she could tell her child self what she was in for. The losses she would withstand; the ups and downs of a legendary hero; the heartache of leaving her best friend behind; everything about the Rebellion.

Besides the war and destruction, Adora did find happiness after. Alongside with the Rebellion and formers Horde soldiers, they were able to rehabilitate Etheria to its renowned glory.

She heard Catra groan an exhausted mewl. She huddled herself and shivered a bit. Adora, with pity for her, covered Catra more in the blanket. Adora felt Catra's tail wrapped around her leg. She soon came face to face with Catra. Catra noticed Adora's dreadful mood.

"Are you ok?" She grumbles, tucking a hair behind her ear.

Adora crawled over to Catra's side and kissed her lovingly and purely. Catra tilted her head and kissed Adora, holding her waist. The girls had done this many times but the way this one kiss felt, it made seem like they were kissing for the first and last time; affectionately yet bittersweetly.

Adora pulled from the kiss, resting her head on Catra's. "Don't leave...ever." The blonde whispers, chastely planting another small kiss on.the other's lips.

"What are you talking about?" Catra said.

"I don't want you to leave me," Adora sternly spoke over her question.
