The Rebellion had grown. The princesses and their powers had become stronger. Catra knew that it was her time to act now. If no one in the Fright Zone was going to take action, she will. She knew no one would help her overthrow Hordak. She herself couldn't overthrow Hordak. She could, however, get herself closer to ruling.

Horde Prime could have arrived at any moment. Hordak was only concerned about waiting around until his brother arrived. Catra had other plans. Not Adora, the princesses, or anyone was going to get in her way now. Catra thought about it. Once everyone was gone, she could finally get her way.

The way she wanted Shadow Weaver to feel when she said she wasn't good enough. The way she wanted Hordak to feel for ever doubting her. The way she wanted Adora to feel that way she left and decided that everything they had wasn't good enough. Including her.

Catra had just received word that Horde Prime was on his way. This was it. It was really happening. The time had come for a new era to rise. An epoch of evil to legislate. The Rebellion will be gone, there will be no more princesses and no more She-Ra.

"Catra! Please don't!" She heard a voice echo.

Catra's eyes opened with panic. For a second, she felt Adora was in the room with her. Catra would never admit it; she couldn't get that princess out of her head at times. She didn't know why. They each made a choice. A choice to either stay or leave.

Adora chose to leave. She chose to stay. Catra also knew that Adora was too good and naive for the Horde. Maybe leaving was the best for her. At least she had left with telling her than never returning without telling her she was fleeing.

Catra made those thoughts disappear.

Catra knew what she was doing wasn't right. It was doing any good for the Horde or the world. It did, in her viewpoint, feel so promising to be on top. To see enemy lines collapse and crumble. She was never taught well. She was always taught to show no mercy, to destroy, to fight and to be a villain.

She was never going to let anyone take advantage of or hurt her. She was never going to be the weakling they all thought she would be. She was finally going to show them.

She had her plan all thought out. Once the Rebellion is gone, it will feel such a relief to finally win. She got rid of all the things that could've stopped her. She was second-in-command, she got rid of that princess, and Hordak was at his most vulnerable. He was too focused on Entrapta's "betrayal" that he was practically waiting for her to walk through those doors and be reunited with her. Nonetheless, Catra was in no reluctance to tell Hordak a lie.

Catra could've had the choice to go to Bright Moon and destroy the princesses herself but she thinks that it could be fitting if everyone had a glimpse of their beloved royals suffering. It seemed pretty cruel to destroy a place so beautiful as Etheria but she couldn't just let it be infected with people who can't even control their princesses.

She-Ra herself couldn't save all of Etheria in an hour. She thought.

Catra never saw herself as someone who was a monster and who wanted to destroy for fun. Now, she couldn't see it any other way. The princesses had no idea what was in store for them. They had no idea what was coming for them.

"You can come with me. You could join the Rebellion. I know you're not a bad person, Catra. You don't belong with the Horde."

"It's not real, Catra! As much as I wish that things could be simply the way they used to be, there's no going back."

"Why did you do it?" The dreams come back like if they want to get her.

Catra had a very brief moment of contemplation. Was this really what she wanted or was it just something her mind has been brainwashing her with? Wasn't it too late for her? Did Adora really mean what she said in the portal? Could that be the cause of her portal nightmares?

Catra looked towards her mirror. She started down her outfit and held her cheek. She would never forget the hurt she felt when Adora left her. When Shadow Weaver blamed her constantly for no good reason. When that princess said why Adora left the Horde. When Shadow Weaver lifted her up into the air in front of those Rebels.

She looked up at the mirror and saw a delusion for a short minute. She could've sworn she saw the very Catra in the portal. The one that glitched and sounded distorted, wickedly smirking before disappearing. The one that was the nightmare, the monster of Etheria. She felt inspiration for a change in her apparel.

I think it's time for a change.

Catra laughed at the evil Lord Hordak on his knees.

"Hey. Cheer up, boss. You said so yourself. Big Bad Horde Prime got your signal. You wanna conquer Etheria before he gets here; he doesn't sound like the type to accept failure."

"What do you want?" He growled.

"We're done with your little vanity projects. It's time to crush the Rebellion, for good." Catra dropped the crystal that kept him stable. "And you're going to help me do it." Hordak crawled to get it. "I think you and I are going to do great things together." She smirked.
