Hope closed the door to her room. She made sure no one had followed her. She began climbing to the ceiling to place rope over the chandelier. She fell to the ground when she heard Queen Glimmer teleporting into the room.
"Hope? What are you doing?" The queen caught the girl.
"Nothing. Totally not trying to catch a person who breaks into our home." Hope smiled.
Glimmer brought Hope down from the tiny chandelier of her room.
"Ok, you've been acting weird since
"But I'm always weird. Weird is my blood."
"I know but why are putting rope up on the roof?"
Hope took a big breather. "Mom told me about this Sandy Claws guy that has these deer people as his slaves and they fly around the world bringing gifts and he eats a lot of cookies with milk and now to keep him from breaking in, I'm gonna trap him and interrogate him vigorously."
"You mean to tell me all of this is for someone who's gonna bring presents?"
"What if there's a bomb or a stun baton inside? Do you want to get ourselves killed?"
"Of course not but was it really necessary to put the traps in your room? He doesn't come through your bedroom window."
"Oh no, this is just a backup. The other traps are in the kitchen, my moms' room, your room, and the throne room."
"In what? Bow's coming to fix a crack in there!"
"He'll be fine." Glimmer ran out of the room. "Just tell him not to be upside down for a long time!" Hope giggled.

"Hour 19. Nothing has happened. Basically, this is the most boring thing I've ever done in my life and Mom made me learn about the psycho First Ones," Hope felt herself getting sleepy. Her face fell next to her water glass and the water splashed her. She screamed. "What's that? Who's there?" She saw herself dripping in water. She slapped herself.
"Hey, get it together, Hope! Listen, you've been attacked by a monster, you've lived with two moms who literally held the world's fate in their hands, you've lived with a shadow woman for two years, you've survived that stupid dog creature's bite, and you're gonna be a big sister. Now if you're gonna sleep and become a weakling, you can sleep whenever you'd like." Hope fell to the ground and snored as she huddled herself for warmth.

Hope woke up with the sound of clanking coming from her room. She held up her plastic sword and raised it. She looked around the room to see where the sound could have come from. Hope I saw that there was nothing.
She noticed the door swaying back and forth for a tiny while. It was as if someone had just run out. Hope grabbed all she needed and left her bedroom. Hope could hear clanking coming from the kitchen. Hope instantly thought she had caught the Christmas criminal.
"Alright, you chubby man, you're not breaking into Bright Moon on my..." Hope saw her mom Adora dangling from the ceiling. "...watch."
"Hey, sweetie." Adora spat out some flour. "So...what are you doing up?"
"Trying to catch a criminal. You?"
"Same here. I just wanted to get the bait. Glimmer says it's cookies the guy. So if it's the cookies he wants, he'll get them." Adora manically laughed.
"Is it just you or is mom here too?" Hope asked until they both heard a scream by the kitchen stove.
"Yeah, she's here." Adora smiled. "Everything ok, honey?"
"Just peachy," Catra shouted back at her. "Hope, the next time you build a trap. At least give us a warning before we go walking into them!" Catra squirmed on the ceiling and used her nails to free herself.
Hope climbed to the cabinets and slice the ropes to free Adora. Both Hope's parents stared down at their daughter with their arms crossed or with a genuine smile for their child's deter to catch the unknown stranger of Christmas.
"I guess we're not getting any presents, huh?" Hope asked her mothers.
"From us? Yes. From this guy who comes in at night? Probably not any of us for trying to trap him." Adora chuckled.
"I'm sorry I tied you up."
"Kid, when we said to be prepared for anything, we didn't think you be prepared for this so quickly." Catra patted her daughter's cheek.
"So care to explain the mess?" They heard some ask them. They saw Glimmer with her hair messed up from tossing in her sleep and flour on her face.
"Adora did it." Catra falsely pointed out.
"What?" Adora asked Catra.
"It was me," Hope admitted. "I was just trying to stop his person from breaking in."
"Guys, he doesn't just break in, he leaves presents for all the good in the world. I promise if you go to sleep, everything will fine. Now if you'll all excuse me, I have to wash the flour off my face."
"Well, I feel stupid." Adora said.
"Oh yeah," Catra scoffed.
"Were you ok with hanging upside down with you being pregnant?" Hope looked up at Catra.
"Please, I fought Crimson Waste bandits and killed a giant snake when I was pregnant with you. That was just amateur hour for me." Catra giggled.
"Don't forget you nearly trying to kill me and Bow on that one mission." Adora whispered.
"Don't bring up the past."
