A/N: royal/thief au

———♢———

Breezy winds flew through the Whispering Woods. It was a fresh, crisp, and quiet night for all of Etheria. The loudest thing that night was silence. The ideal night for a late night heist.

There have been rumors spread around Etheria because of precious items from different princesses were stolen. If the thief couldn't have anything to steal, something in the kingdom would be destroyed. There was the trident that belonged to the royal family of Salineas, half of the gardens in Plumeria were destroyed as well as some robots in Dryl, and Princess Frosta's crown from the Kingdom of Snows.

The only kingdom that hasn't been robbed was the kingdom of Bright Moon. Home to Queen Angella and Princess Glimmer along with the adopted Princess Adora.

A slim figure approached the castle with a black hood over their head. The culprit jumped from tree to tree onto the nearest window they saw. They landed on her feet inside the room of Princess Glimmer. The thief crept around the room looking for anything of value. She found a staff with a crescent moon in its center.

The thief lifted the staff and firmly grasped it.

"Well, princess, you royals have good taste in weaponry, I'll be honest." The figure spoke.

The suspicious character left the room and shut the door behind her slowly as she could. The creams on the door were so loud, it echoed through the castle halls and a guard even heard.

"Who's there?"

The guard walked towards the figure and held her spear in front of her. The figure jumped from wall to wall and grabbed onto the ceiling.

"Show yourself, coward."

"Hey there." Just at that moment, the guard was knocked out with one jump on the head.

"These guards are stupider than the ones in Salineas."

The thief walked into a room that looked a tad similar to Princess Glimmer's. Instead, she found a girl with blonde hair in her bed.; the thief removed her hood.

"Well, aren't you a pretty one?" She whispered while tucking a loose strand of yellow hair behind her ear. "Let's see what valuable junk you have lying around here."

The woman searched all over the room for something she could trade or sell. She looked in drawers, in closets, under the princess's bed, everywhere. Until, under the bed, she found a giant sword.

"Well, well. What do we have here?" She lifted the sword and saw her reflection within the blade. The girl stared at the sword. Then, she remembered that this sword might be her ticket to freedom. She took out a sketch of a drawing that was remarkably similar to the one she was holding in her hand. If she were to trade the sword to the person who sent her to retrieve it, she could grab a way out of Etheria.

"Don't move just stand and face towards me." The crook stood up at the voice's command and saw the same blonde that was sleeping. Only this time, she had a dagger pointed to her chest.

"I always thought I'd get it in Bright Moon."

"What do you want with the sword?"

"I'm a simple person, I see what looks either valuable for money or something that looks good enough to pull off a scam and trade for something."

"That's horrible."

"Still wanna hold hands and sing 'Kumbaya'?"

"Show some respect. You're in a castle and there are people sleeping."
