'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the castle. No, it's not that story so don't have a hassle. Inside lied Catra, tossing and turning in her new bedroom. It was Christmas Eve and she couldn't sleep. She had no idea what Christmas was. She only learned it from Adora considering she was in Bright Moon far longer than her.
Adora told her friend about the joy of this winter holiday. The family around you, the presents, the food, the blessings. All Catra could think about how the day could have been celebrated every year had their childhood and life not been a lie.
Adora also told her about a jolly person who comes bringing gifts to those who had been a good soul. Catra had only been in the Rebellion for nearly five months. It made her think. When she and Adora had been in the Horde, they had been good for soldiers of the evil armada. Why hasn't this person visit them?
Catra then thought out a plan to get vengeance on this lively one. One that will trap this heisting, uncultured swine. The young lady thought it all through and hoped her plan would be this will be the end of this 'burglar's' heist.
She jumped right from her bed. When the entered the main hall, she saw the biggest tree she had ever seen. Lights of every color blinked around, tinsels of gold and red wrapped around the tree, and presents in the shiniest of wrapping paper Catra had ever seen. She stared up at the tree.
Why wouldn't the Horde tell her and Adora about this day? A day of gifts; a day of the hearth; a day of...happiness.
She felt anger boiling in her again. She may have been redeemed but a part of her couldn't control the emotions that the try to keep away. She stared up again at the green fir and pushed it to the end of the window. Two ornaments fell a noise filled the room from her accident. The girl jumped and a knot tied in her stomach.
"It was just an ornament." She said and got rid of the plant with the scent smelled pleasant. Catra felt herself being dragged out the window. Her tail had been caught in between the branches of the tree. She stopped being dragged by using her nails to dig into the tile floor. She pulled herself up and the tree fell to the ground.
Once the tree was gone, Catra grabbed every present that was under it. She placed each present by the chimney. Catra almost lit the presents but something made her pause.
"Catra?" Adora came in with her eyes like saucers. "What are you doing?" Adora asked. Catra only stood quiet with the match burning down near her finger. Adora walked up blew out the match.
"Cat, what's going here?" Adora asked, throwing the match out the window next to her.
"It's...it's not fair." Catra hugged herself.
"What isn't?" Adora held her arms.
"Everything about this holiday."
"Catra, why would think that?"
"When you told me this person comes to give gifts to good people, it made me think," Catra sat down. "Why didn't this person come to give us anything before we actually began training?"
