Ch.6 Punk Soul

The next day was Saturday so that was the day the Armstrong family would sleep in 'til like 9:00-9:30am but Anna had something else in mind, she woke up at like six instead and went into Billie's studio, quietly to not wake anyone else and taught herself the entire Dookie album on guitar, she was so in depth in playing she didn't even notice Billie come in and standing in the doorway speechless and she spoke
"Oh sorry Billie did I wake you up"
"No, I just was up and heard you playing and came to see and dang you can play, how did you learn Dookie"
"Well you taught me to play and I just learned to play by sound and thank you"
"Wow how long you been up"
"Since six"
"Oh, want some coffee"
"That would be awesome, is it strong"
"Of course it is, look at the insomniac, you're talking too" he said laughing a little
"Good, Oakland Coffee?"
"Of course what else"
"Cool"and Billie noticed the upset look on Anna's face
"Hey are you okay"
"Yeah I'm just thinking of my dad that's all"
"Billie hug" he asked smiling
"Yeah" Billie hugged Anna and she felt safe and better
"Better" Billie asked with a sweet smile
"Yeah thank you"
"Of course lets go"
"Yay caffine"
"Ha ha yeah ya need it to live"
"Of course who doesn't" so they went up to the kitchen and got some coffee where Adrienne was making breakfast
"Good morning guys, Anna did you sleep good"
"Yeah I guess" Adrienne then had a concerned look on her face and whispered to Billie so Anna didn't hear
"Whats wrong"
"Thinking 'bout her dad thats all she's good now" he said smilng
"Okay" Adrienne said with a smile
"Anna ya like chocolate chip pancakes"
"Heck yeah"
"Good" then Billie was just sitting there smiling and then spoke
"Y'know Anna I got an idea for what we should do today"
"Yeah ?"
"I'm gonna get Mike and Tre over here later and then we can all jam does that sound good" Anna was speechless at the thought of jamming with her favorite band
"That sound fucking amazing"
"Okay then I'm gonna go call them I'll be right back"
"Ok" then Adrienne set down a plate of food and sat down in Billie's spot
"So Anna want to tell me more about yourself" she said with a sweet smile
"Sure, I'm from Milwaukee, Wisconsin if that rings a bell, I'm 13 yrs old, my birthday is Feburary 3rd, I'm an Aquarius like Billie,I'm genderfluid and lesbian as hell and I love music and want to be in a band and I suffer from depression and anxiety and I have had suicidal thoughts and I didn't tell Billie that because I didn't want him to worry and yeah, sorry if I'm rambling I tend to do that"
"No honey its fine you seem really interesting from what you told me and me and Billie are both greatful to have you in our home and you truly do seem like family because of how kind and sweet and respectful and cool and real you are and close you are to us and we will give you all the support you need right now okay we want you to know that we love and care about you, you are family to us okay" by now Anna was in tears from what Adrienne had said Adrienne got up and gave Anna a hug
"Thank you for all you guys have done for me I really appreciate it and I feel the same"
"Hey its okay to cry and its okay no need to thank us"
"But I also know you guys would'nt just do this for anyone,can I show you something, something personal"
"Sure sweety" so Anna showed Adrienne her scars and said
"I'm okay now Green Day and another band saved my life and made me realize that life is worth living and even if it is crappy that to just push through especially with music" at this point now Adrienne was in tears and just then Billie walked in
"Is everything okay, whats wrong" then Anna and Adrienne pulled apart and wiped their eyes and both looked at Billie
"Nothing Anna and I were just talk about some stuff"
"Oh okay, well Mike and Tre are up for it and will be here in an hour" Anna was so happy she got up and started dancing putting smiles on both Billie's and Adrienne's face and making them laugh then Billie took Anna down in the studio to talk and wait for Mike and Tre
"Hey, Anna do you mind me asking but what were and Adrienne talking about if thats okay with you" Billie said in a calm tone
"She asked me to tell her more about myself and I did and there is also some stuff that I haven't told you because I didn't want you to worry and I told Adrienne and then I started crying and I told her about how I'm better now and then she started crying and she hugged me and then you walked in and yeah"
"Can you tell me if thats okay"
"Well you know how I showed you my scars and I said I was okay now well I explained to Adrienne that I quote 'I'm okay now Green Day and another band saved my life and made me realise that life is worth living and even if it is crappy that to just push through especially with music' and I also told what I didn't tell you so you wouldn't worry is that I suffer from depression and anxiety and I have had suicidal thoughts" and now Anna was in tears crying
"I-I'm sorry I d-didn't tell you" she said in a small voice
"Hey its okay and I get you didn't want me to worry but I care about you and I love you and I wish you would have told me but its okay I get it its fine"
"Billie hug" Billie asked and Anna nodded in response with tears still rolling down her cheeks,Billie calmed her down, and just hugged her until she stopped crying and completely calmed down
"Hey guess what Mike and Tre are here you ready to jam with your favorite band" Anna immediatley cheered up and ran and grabbed Frankie
"Hell yeah"
"Okay then, guys come down here"
"Hey Anna"Mike said
"Hi"
"Sup Anna" Tre said
"Hey"
"Guys you will not believe what she can do on guitar, she woke up 6am and taught herself the entire Dookie album just by hearing plus she can shred like hell"
"So Anna whats your favorite song off Dookie"
"Thats a hard one but I would have to say Longview"
"Then lets play that" Billie set up the mic stand, Mike stood in place with his bass in hand and Tre sat down at his drums and Billie stood besides the mic stand with Blue around his neck and Anna stood there with a confused look on her face
"Wait you guys want me to sing"
"Yeah of course" and she was honestly nervous to sing, but just went with it
"Okay" then Anna stood behind the mic stand with her guitar around her neck ready to jam when Billie spoke one more time
"Adrienne come down here with the video camera" she did and set it up so it captured Billie,Mike,Tre,and Anna then she sat down on the couch and watched as Tre counted off
"1,2,1,2,3,4" then they jumped right into Longview and Anna didn't miss a beat and shredded her guitar and hit every note and was in perfect harmony with the guys, she was stuck in a trace until the song stopped and looked around to see everyone with their mouths wide open,speechless
"Dang am I that good" and Mike spoke
"Holy crap how can a 13 yr old play that fucking good who taught her" then Anna looked over at Billie who raised his hand and spoke
"Yours truly"
"Holy shit Billie how"
"I don't know I just showed her the basics and she taught herself from there I really didn't do anything" and Anna spoke
"You did plenty"
"So whats your second favorite song off Dookie"
"Pulling Teeth" then they played Pulling Teeth then played the entire Dookie album and it was all recorded on the video camera
"Hey Billie why did you have Adrienne record it"
"So you can take the tape and show your dad when he wakes up"
"Oh smart,thank you" then Billie turned to the guys and asked if they wanted to stay for dinner, which they obviously did so during dinner they talked about music which left Adrienne smiling in awe at how they all got along arguing over who the best bands were and Tre was there so they all definetly laughed and Anna had a good sense of humor too. After dinner Mike and Tre left then Anna walked up to Billie and asked
"Um Billie I have some songs I wrote and I was wondering if you would help me work on them"
"Of course its not too late lets go to the studio" so they went into the studio and worked on Anna's songs and by the time they were done she had finished four songs so that was a start then Billie had something to tell Anna
"Hey Anna"
"Yeah"
"Y'know how you said you are lesbian and genderfluid"
"Yeah"
"Well there is pride fest tomorrow and I was wondering if you would want me and Adrienne to take you" Anna immediatley jumped up and hugged Billie and said yes like a million times
"Okay then, we should probaly get some rest if we're gonna do that tomorrow"
"Okay, night Billie"
"Night Anna" Anna went to bed so ecstatic for tomorrow.
