Ch.46 Scars/Strung Out

So the tour went on and it was now March 6 and they were all back in Wisconsin for a show at the Pabst Theater,and they were staying at Scott's like normal and Anna didn't sleep at all,so she went and got coffee for everyone and like two cups for herself and she set the tray of coffee on the table for everyone when they woke up and she went out and sat on the porch and watched the sun rise,drinking her coffee and listen to music on her iPod,and hours passed and Billie woke up and found her and sat down next to her on the stairs
"Hey"he said smiling
"Hi"Anna said in a small voice,and Billie saw how sleep deprived she looked,and that she was rubbing her wristband,so he held her hand and smiled
"Hey whats up"
"Um today marks a year that I've been clean and I just don't really know how to handle it"and Billie didn't know that and so he just gave her a hug and spoke
"Well I'm proud of you,because you're strong"he said smiling and she smiled back and he spoke again
"Did you stay up all night"
"Yeah I was stupid and I fuck I don't know I just keep thinking about when I wasn't okay and I just don't wanna fall again"and she now had tears streaming down her face,and Billie hugged her again
"Hey its okay,if you fall I'll catch you and if you go there again,okay"he said smiling
"Okay'she said smiling in a small voice and Billie spoke again
"You can let anything out at the show and say whatever you want"and so Anna just smiled and leaned against him and closed her eyes
"Thanks Billie"
"Of course"he said giving Anna a hug,and he came up with an idea to cheer her up
"Wanna go get ice cream it makes everything"
"Sure"so they grabbed their boards and headed over to Baskin Robbins and got ice cream and went and sat on the giant staircase,and ate their ice cream and Anna spoke
"You're right it does make everything better" and Billie smiled,and then she started silently crying and Billie just hugged her
"Hey its okay,whats wrong"
"I-I was thinking about it again,I-I'm sorry"
"No no you have nothing to be sorry about and its okay"and Billie held her wristband hand with his and smiled
"Hey look at me"so she did,with tears still rolling down her face
"You're okay I've got you"and he just smiled and Anna spoke
"Thank you"she said in almost a whisper and she was still hugging him,so he got out his phone and started playing music to cheer her up and it worked,she stopped crying and was at least smiling,and that made him smile,and he was still holding her hand and he spoke
"Do you wanna walk around for a little bit"and she just nodded her head,so they carried their boards and walked around for a bit and Anna wouldn't let go of Billie's hand but he didn't mind,so walked around and stuff and once Anna was fully calmed down,they headed back to Scott's and her dad was already gone,at work,so they walked in and Anna just gave Adrienne a hug and she saw how tired she looked and looked at Billie with a concerned face,so Anna let go and went over by where the guys were sitting and Billie took Adrienne outside to talk to her and she spoke
"Whats wrong with Anna"
"Today marks a year that she's been clean and she stayed up all night and she doesn't know how to handle it and keeps thinking about it from time to time"and Adrienne spoke
"Oh I didn't know that"
"Yeah nether did I and I told her that I wouldn't let her do anything or fall again,so can you help me with that"
"Of course,just so she is okay"so they headed back in the house and Anna,Mike,and Tre were all talking,so they sat down and Billie smiled at Anna and she smiled back and he was trying to come up with ideas to distract her and he came up with an idea
"Hey want me to teach you some skate tricks"Billie asked smiling,and Anna immediately perked up,and nodded,so they went outside with their boards and Billie showed her some tricks and how to do them and she got all of them down,because they were easy and so they skated around her neighborhood for a while and Anna was happy,just riding and doing little tricks and having fun,so they headed back and decided to practice before the show and they came up with a list songs to play

So they practiced and ran through the whole list until they had to leave,so once it was time to leave,they packed up,and headed to the Pabst Theater,so they got there and did a sound check and relaxed and Anna sat up in the rafters and Billie found her,and sat down next to her and spoke
"What ya thinking about'
"How we're gonna crash and trash that wedding'she said smirking
"Ha nice,what were you thinking"
"A crap ton of pranks,and objecting or some shit,and like playing Why Him or something"and Billie gave Anna a confused look
"Oh Why Him is another song I wrote"
"Oh,cool,do you wanna play it tonight"
"Sure'
"Can't wait to hear it"he said smiling,and Anna smiled back,so they sat up there until it was time to go,so they eventually climbed down and Adrienne gave Anna a hug and then they walked out on stage and Billie spoke
"How you guys doing"and he got cheers back in response
"Well lets go fucking nuts,alright"and the crowd did as they jumped into Longview,and Billie was playing with his new guitar and it made Anna smile,so they played through the list and during the pause in King for a Day Anna spoke
"Anyone out there in the LGBTQ community,I back and support you and I love you,I'm gay and genderfluid and love is love and don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't wear or what you can and can't be,I love you guys,and Billie might not keep it PG 13 the whole time so fair warning"and Billie was just standing there laughing,and of course she was right and he didn't keep it PG 13 the entire time,so they played through and when Scars hit Anna started getting choked up to sing so Billie helped her and she was tearing up so after they finished the song he gave her a hug and she wiped her eyes,and they played through,then Strung Out hit and she spoke
"Um I remember a little while after I turned 13 and everything started going down hill because I realised my sexuality and I was filled with guilt and fear,and around that time nothing was going right so,I remember there were these four days,two of them I stayed home from school because of how depressed I was and also afraid I was that kids would find out that I was gay because I went to a Catholic school and the other two were the weekend anyway these four days I didn't eat,shower,or change my clothes or sleep and I put my body through physical hell,then time went on and I got more and more depressed,to the point I was numb almost and on this day a year ago I cut for the first time and stopped the same day,because music helped and it saved my life,I was this close to ending it and music saved me,so I walked up to my mom and I rolled up my sleeve and I showed her and it was only five little scars on my wrist but still,and anyway I credit Green Day and one other band for saving my life and making me feel human again and today marks a year that I've been clean and anyone and I mean anyone who wants or feels the need to cut,don't I love you and I care,listen to Green Day or any band and feel something,don't destroy yourself like I did,get better like I did,you'll feel so much better,its hard but its worth it,and I fucking love you"and when she was done and looked at the guys they were in literal tears and so Billie,Mike,and Tre all walked over to her and gave her a hug,then Mike and Tre walked back where they were and Billie and held up their wristband hands and he spoke
"Green Day loves you and please don't self harm,we love you and we care and if no one else in your life does,we do,and Anna is the toughest kid I know,hell she survived her dad being in a coma for two weeks,being brutally beat up multiple times,being in the hospital for six weeks,she has over come depression and severe anxiety,cutting almost all of her family off and being on her own most of the time,and I love her and I takes fucking guts to get up on a stage in front of people you don't know and say everything she just said" and the crowd lost it and Anna gave Billie a hug,so then they played through and after Good Ridance, Anna spoke
"This is a new song and its called Why Him,and its about this jerk that my mom is marrying,and basically she lost her relationship with me because she picked him and not her own flesh and blood,but whatever we can't pick our parents"so she played it and the lyrics alone,you could tell had anger in them

And after she played it,she looked up and Billie looked speechless and he gave her a hug and spoke
'That was filled with pure anger,hate and emotion,I love it'
'Well I do my emotions in my songs"
"I know,wanna play Thank You now"
"Yep" and so they stood in front of their mics and Anna spoke
"This next song is called Thank You" so they played Thank You and by the end of it Billie and Anna had tears of joy streaming down their face and Anna spoke
"Give it up for Mr.Billie Joe Armstrong,Mr.Mike Dirnt,and Mr.Tre Cool" and the crowd just cheered like hell,then Billie spoke
"Give it up for Anna,one of the strongest people ever,great performer,and the defenition of awesomeness"and the crowd cheered like crazy
"We love you and good night"and they walked off stage and immediately Adrienne hugged Anna and spoke
"How are you so amazing"she said smiling
"I don't know"
"Well I'm proud of you and I love you and you are one of the strongest people I know"
"Thanks'
'Yep" and Adrienne gave her another hug and then she walked over by Billie and spoke
"So are we meeting with fans"
"Yep"so they walked out where all the fans were and so they met with fans and this one girl walked up to Anna and her wrists had fresh cuts on them,so Anna took a tissue out of her pocket and wiped the girl's wrists off and gave her a hug and signed whatever she had and Billie came over and gave the girl a hug too and she was crying and spoke
'Thank you guys so much I love you and your music and I just Anna gets it"and Anna nodded and gave the girl another hug and spoke
"You're gonna stop right"and the girl nodded and said thank you again and walked away,and Billie gave Anna a hug and spoke
"It is so sweet and just indescribible when you help people like that and you are amazing"
'Thank you"
"Yep"Billie said smiling,so they met with more fans and had a great time,then headed backstage and Anna spoke
"Celebratory ice cream"
"Of course"Billie said smiling,so they packed up and left and headed to Baskin Robbins and got ice cream and went up on the roof on the church,and they all talked,laughed,adn ate their ice cream and had an awesome time,then headed back to Scott's and he was home,but already passed out,so they were quiet,and Mike,Tre and Adrienne all passed out,so it was just Anna and Billie,so they went out on the porch and sat on the stairs and Billie knew something was up with Anna
"Hey whats wrong"
"Just that I don't even think my mom acknowledged what today is,and that kinda hurts"
"Well thats just not right"and Anna just leaned against Billie,and he gave her a hug
'Yeah but whatever"she said yawning,and she was so tired,she passed out,leaning against Billie and he looked at her and saw that she was passed out and smiled,so he carried her in the house and put her in bed and kissed her forehead and whispered a small 'goodnight' and left and then passed out on one of the couches,after a long day.
