Ch.56 A Gunshot Rings Out

So the next morning Anna was the first to wake up and stuff with her dad had been going on between him and his crazy bitch of a girlfriend that he dumped and some randome other stuff,so Anna got up an dheard crying coming from her dad's room and she went to see what it was,and her dad was sitting on the bed,crying
"Dad"and he turned around
"Oh kiddo"and she went and sat down next to him
"I-I'm really not okay right now"and she just hugged her dad and named off a couple of the many reasons he is a kick ass dad to cheer him up
"So what's wrong"
"Shit with grandpa,he has this new friend that has brought some shit and just he's showing his true colors and being a bastard"
"Oh"
"Yeah well don't worry kiddo,I got some running to do I'll be back later"and he gave Anna a hug
"Okay"and her dad left and she went in her room and started crying because she has only seen her dad cry one other time in her life and it scared the shit out of her and for some weird reason Mike was the first to wake up out of the guys,Joan and Adrienne and he was about to go on a coffee run when he heard faint crying from Anna's room and 'oh fuck' he thought to him self,so he went in her room and saw Anna sitting up against her bed with her knees pulled up to her chest and her head resting on them and when Mike came in she looked up and he saw that her eyes were red and puffy from crying and he spoke
"Hey what's wrong"he asked sitting down next to her
"My dad had a breakdown this morning because of some shit going with grandpa,who is showing his true colors after all these years and being jerk"and she sighed
"When I was born my grandpa knew that my dad would have his ass if he did or said anything to hurt me so to cover his own ass my grandpa put on the act of my grandpa and now since I'm gone he dropped the act and it isn't pretty"
"Doesn't your dad have siblings"
"Yeah Jenny I could care less about she's a mini Marie but my aunt Laurie and my dad got verbally,emotionally,and physically abused almost all the time, between being beaten,verbally abused,told they weren't gonna amount to anything,and being locked in a pitch black basement"and now Mike was pissed just hearing that because it's not right on any level and he spoke
"Well wanna go on a coffee run with me"
"Sure"so they left and headed to Strabucks and on the way back Anna started laughing
"Hmh"Mike said
"Nothing I just remember something like this happened a few years ago and I got so pissed I wanted to go spray paint my grandpa's house but my mom wouldn't let me"and Mike spoke
"Well we could go do that now"
"Wait really"
"Yeah I don't see why not"
"Heck yeah"so they headed back to Scott's and explained everything and so the guys,Anna and Joan took a ride down to Tosa to find Anna's buddies,and explained it to them and they came from fucked up families to so they were totally in,so they headed over to Anna's grandpa's house,which used to where she lived because its a duplex,her mom and her used to live on the top and her grandpa lives on the bottom,so they got there and saw that he wasn't home so Anna let everyone in with a spare key she stole back before she moved,and they all went down in the basement,in the band room and Tre's mouth dropped at the drum kits,so everyone was looking around and Anna was looking at the band wall as she called it and she remember she took a paint pen and wrote something on there and she tapped Billie on the shoulder and he turned around and she spoke
"I wrote that on there before my mom moved" and he smiled and what was written 'Saint Insomnia was here' and next to it was a range and love symbol
"Nice,so wanna spray paint some shit"
"Yep"so she went and found a shit ton of spray paint and gave everyone a can and they headed into her grandpa's house and Anna just let loose spray painting everything and Billie was standing there smiling,while she was spray paint stuff along the lines of 'fuck you' and stuff and then she saw her grandpa pull up and Billie stood right next to her because he didn't know what the fuck was gonna walk through that door and her grandpa came in and saw everything
"Anna what the hell are you doing here"
"Its just a little fucking payback from all of the shit you put my dad and aunt Laurie through, your bitch of an ex-wife drops dead and opens enough old wounds and then you gotta go and do this shit,my dad had a fucking break down this morning because of whatever the fuck you said to him you own fucking son,do you know how much fucking damage that bitch did to us, aunt Laurie she got beaten,verbally abused,told she was pathetic and a waste of oxygen,and locked in a pitch black basement,every god damn day,my dad,got his ass whooped every day,told he was never gonna be worth anythign,is a deadbeat dad,and is fucking pathetic,and me I got told how I'm never gonna amount to anything,pursuing a career in music is stupid,how I'm just like my dad,that I'm stupid and naive and had to sit and listen to her trash the people and bands I love every god damn day,so don't ever contact me,my dad,or Laurie ever again,because you're a pathetic excuse for a human being"and Mike spoke
"Anna had a fucking breakdown because she saw her dad having a breakdown,which you gave him because you're an old bastard"and then Billie started going off on him and while that was happening Joan got an idea so she grabbed Anna and went in the basement and grabbed two baseball bats and went back up by everyone and in perfect motion Joan and Anna smashed her grandpa's kitchen table,well Anna did with her good hand,and then she walked outside and everyone followed and when she saw her grandpa come outside she spoke
"This is my fucking childhood and you built it"she said while pointing the bat at her old swingset,and then single handedly,literally smashed the whole thing,dropped the bat and everyone left,they didn't care if he called the cops or not,so they dropped Anna's buddies off somewhere then headed back to Tosa and got ice cream and sat up on the roof of the church and Anna spoke
"Thanks guys for helping me do that"and Billie spoke
"Of course,Youngblood'and he gave her a hug and Anna spoke
"And Joan that was probably the best idea ever"
"Thanks'
"Yep,and wait did we show Joan the skate park"
"No,what about it"Joan said
"You'll see'' so they headed over to the skate park and Joan saw it and spoke
"Holy shit it looks like a Green Day bomb went off on it"
"Yep"so eventually everyone headed home and passed out.So the next morning Billie was the first one to wake up,so he went on a coffee run and then took little Billie on a walk around the neighborhood and was smiling at how happy what he had planned was gonna make Anna,so eventually he headed back to Scott's and saw Anna sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and he spoke
"Hey Youngblood"
"Hi Billie"and Billie went and sat down next to her and she pet little Billie and spoke
"I think my dad is doing what he was doing back in Oakland,like leaving and stuff"and Billie spoke
"Yeah that sounds like him"and Anna spoke
"I'm just glad he only played a few shows and didn't come on tour"
"Why"
"Just the life on the road would burn him out more"
"Yeah,we're playing at the Rave tonight"he said smiling and Anna spoke
"Huh"
"Nothing"Billie said smiling
"Yeah,okay"she said taking a taking a drink of her coffee
"So what should we do,since the show isn't till later"and Anna spoke
"Wanna go walk around the Rave,since it's dead right now since its like 11:30"
"Sure"so they headed inside and wrote a note and Joan walked in and Anna spoke
"You just woke up didn't you"and Joan spoke
"Yeah smashing tables with baseball bats take a lot outta you"and Anna laughed a little
"Yeah"
"So where you guys going"
"The Rave"
"Can I tag along"
"Of course"so they headed over to the Rave and as usual blasting some music,so they got their and went in and the manager came up to them and spoke
"What are you guys doing here so early"and Billie spoke
"We were bored and just wanted to walk around"
"Okay,have fun"and she walked away,and Anna spoke
"You see those double doors"she said pointing to a set of double doors
"Yeah"
"That's were you got lost apparently and by coincidense"I can't spell and Billie spoke
"Oh yeah"so they walked around and went in pretty much every room and had fun and once they walked outside Billie spoek
"So what should we do now"and Anna was smiling
"Drive around downtown,blasting music and annoy people"and she was smiling like an idiot,which made Billie smile,because he thought when she smiled it was cute and he spoke
"Good plan"he said smiling,so they got in the car and Billie spoke
"So what you wanna blast"and Anna already knew the answer to that
"Van Halen"
"Smart kid"Joan said
"Like father like daughter"Anna said,so they drove around downtown blasting Van Halen and Anna sang along to almost every song and Billie was smiling to death watching Anna in the rear view mirror having a good time,and thinking 'man she has a kick ass taste in music'so they did that and eventually made their way back to Scott's and everyone was up and Billie spoke
"So practice''and everyone agreed,and Anna still couldn't play because of her arm so she just sang most of the time or else watched the guys and Joan play and was smiling,so after practicing for a while,then packed up and headed to the Rave and did a soundcheck and stuff as normal and Billie was smiling like no tomorrow and Anna spoke
"Billie I've never seen you smile this much are you high"and he spoke
"We talking sugar or caffine"
"Both"
"Sugar,no caffine,yes and I don't think Mike made another iconic bass riff"and Mike started laughing and spoke
"No,no I didn't"so Anna went up in the rafters as usual and Billie followed her and she spoke
"What's got you smiling so much"
"What I have planned for later and how happy it'll make you"
"Okay"she said smiling and then she noticed Billie had an upset look on his face and she spoke
"Hey what happened to high smiling Billie"and he spoke
"I'm just afraid that what I have planned might open old wounds for you and I don't wanna see you get hurt again"and Anna spoke
"It's okay I don't care about what happens to me as long as you are okay"and now he had tears streaming down his face and was hugging her and sighed because he knows where that stems and spoke
"God you are the sweetest kid ever"and they let go and Billie had his head down and was holding Anna's wristband hand in his and Anna saw Mike down on stage with a concerned look on his face looking up at them,and Anna held out her hand and singled for five minutes and he nodded and went back by Tre and she looked at Billie and spoke
"Hey look at me"and he did and Anna saw his red and puffy eyes and he sniffled a little
"It's okay,the point is you want to see me happy so you plan stuff to make me happy and that makes you an even more amazing person''and Billie smiled a little
"Now come on lets go have a kick ass show"she said smiling ,so they got down and Anna was still holding Billie's hand to make sure he was okay and she explained to Adrienne,Mike,Tre,and Joan what was going on with Billie and the next thing Anna knows is her,the guys,and Joan are walking across the stage and Billie's eyes are still noticably red and puffy and he's still a little bit upset and she speaks into her mic
"How you guys doin"and she gets cheers back
"I need a favor,on the count of three I need you to scream,'you're awesome Billie,we love you',can you do that"and she got cheers back
"Alright ready,1,2,3"and she looked at Billie"You're awesome Billie and I love you"and all you heard was
"YOU'RE AWESOME BILLIE WE LOVE YOU" and after that he was smiling and walked over by Anna and gave her a hug and then went back over to his mic and spoke
"Love you,Youngblood"and she smiled so then they jumped into St.Insomnia,well Anna sang,so after a few songs tehy played Youngblood and Billie went over by Anna and wrapped his arm around her and was smiling and so was she and as usual
"Anna's my little Youngblood"and then everyone's favorite part
"She said fuck you I'm from Oakland"and they were both smiling,so after like,Bang Bang,Platypus,Let Yourself Go,99 Revolutions,it was King for a Day and Billie was Billie as usual and Anna was laughing so much she could barely sing and was on the ground laughing her ass off and seeing that made Billie smile and once Anna got back up she spoke
''My gay eyes Billie,my gay eyes"and he spoke
"You expect anything less"
"Nope"and the guys and Joan were laughing,so it started winding down and stuff so after about four more songs they played Good Ridance and Billie was smiling because Anna was singing with him and after the song he spoke
"Okay Youngblood I think it's time for your surprise"and Anna was filled with antisipation
"Laurie come out her and meet you kick ass niece"and Anna's face was priceless and she ran and basically tackled Billie with a hug
"Thank you thank you thank you"and Laurie walked out on stage
"Of course Youngblood,now go meet your aunt"and she went and gave her aunt a hug and she spoke
"This is my Aunt Laurie and this is the first time I have met her in my life,that I can remember and she is the coolest aunt ever,she practically raised my dad and is supportive and is awesome,she has over come cancer twice and is just again awesome,Billie I fricking love you for making this happen"and she handed her aunt the mic
"Anna is one of the most kick ass,awesome,amazing,talented, real kids ever and I'm proud to call her my niece" and walked over by her mic stand
"This next song I wrote a while back,and I dedicated to it Billie and Adrienne,and its about everything they have done for me and my dad,it's literally called Thank You and this time I wanna dedicate it to my amazing aunt"so they played Thank You and Anna couldn't stop smiling and after the song ended Anna ran and gave her aunt another hug and Billie spoke
"Scott get your ass out here and see your sister"he said smiling and he did,he came out smiling and gave Laurie a hug and then he went over by Billie and gave him a hug and spoke
"Billie I thank you a trillon times over man you're the best for making Anna so happy"
"Of course,man"so the show was done and everyone hung out back stage and chilled and kinda introduced in a way and Anna spoke
"Ice cream"and Billie spoke
"I swear that's not even a question anymore"so they packed up and headed over to Tosa and got ice cream and chilled and everyone caught Laurie up on pretty much everything and was left in shock,so then they all headed back to Scott's but he went and kicked it with Laurie at a hotel room and so everyone else passed out and it was just Anna and Billie left awake,so they went outside and sat on the porch and Anna was feeling guilty as fuck because meeting her aunt kinda opened up some old wounds and she didn't want Billie to be upset and she tried so hard to hide it but failed and started crying and Billie hugged her
"Hey it's okay"and she was really crying and starting to shake and wouldn't stop and Billie looked at Anna
"Hey deep breathes you have to calm down"and she tried so hard but she couldn't and she passed out of lack of breath in Billie's arms and he had tears rolling down his face so he ran inside and woke everyone up and they punched it to Children's Hospital and took her in the ER and she was admitted and they were in the waiting room and Billie was a wreck and spoke
"God I think that was the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life,I never wanna see her like that again,it scared the shit outta me"and he had glossy eyes and Mike spoke
"It's okay she's tough"
"I know just that kid can't get a break and it was scary seeing her like that,and I couldn't help her and it was just really bad"and Joan spoke
"It's just another severe asthma attack like usual"
"I know but still"and she spoke
"I know ,and no offense to anyone else but you are the one who cares about and loves Anna the most outta all of us"and that made him smile a little
"Yeah,she is my little Youngblood"and Joan nodded for Billie to follow her and he did and they went down to the cafeteria and got coffee that was actually somewhat strong this time and sat down at a table adn Joan spoke
"It'll be another hour or two until we can see here,so don't worry,and I know easier said then done"and he spoke
"Yeah I know,that was just the scariest shit ever,god"
"I bet but she's a tough kid"
"Yeah I know"
"And what even caused it"
"When we were up in the rafters at the Rave I kinda got upset because I didn't want her seeing her aunt to open up old wounds and she said she doesn't care what happens to her,as long as I'm okay,I swear she's the sweetest kid ever"
"Yeah"
"And I know where her saying that stems from and she cheered me up so after we got back to Scott's and everyone passed out we were sitting out on the porch and I think she felt really guilty about feeling bad because she didn't want me to be upset and she tried to hide it and just broke down in my arms"and he sighed and Joan spoke
"Like you said sweetest kid ever"and he smiled a little
"Yeah,and I know she's gonna feel guilty as fuck"and she spoke
''She only feels guilty because she cares remember"adn Billie was smiling a little more
"Yeah"so they talked and joked for a little bit,and headed back and saw the doctor talking to Adrienne and then walking away and they went back over by everyone and Billie spoke
"So same as last time"
"Yeah"
"Can we see her"
"Yeah"so they headed to Anna's room and she was awake and Billie spoke
"Hey"he said smiling and Anna felt guilty as fuck and he gave her a hug and when he looked at her and saw that she had glossy eyes and he hugged her again
"Hey its okay"and she started crying a little and Billie just hugged her and calmed her down
"So how you feelin"
"Steroids"and he smiled a little
''Okay,Youngblood"and he just hugged her because he knew that she was still upset
"You feel guilty because you don't want me to be upset don't you"
"Yeah,sorry"
"You only feel guilty because you care,and that makes you even more awesome,here scoot over"and she did and Billie sat,laid next to her and she spoke
"Wait what are we gonna tell me dad"
"We can just tell him that you got really worked up about not being able to play"
"Damn that actually sounds legit"and Billie smiled
"Well I am good for some stuff"and Anna punched him playfully in the arm and he laughed a little
"Get some rest Youngblood"and she passed out and she was out,and Billie had a nurse bring in extra chairs as usual for everyone and they passed out and Billie stayed up to make sure that Anna was okay and he looked at her passed out and smiled and whispered
"Love ya,Youngblood"so about 10 hours later,everyone was still passed out and Billie's phone rang and he looked and it was Scott,so as quietly as he could,not to wake Anna he got up and went out in the hallway and answered it
"Hey Billie,I tried getting a hold of everyone,no answer,no note,where are you guys"
"Scott,I'm sorry"
"Billie what's up"
"Anna's in the hospital"
"And you didn't call me what happened"
"She had a bad asthma attack and we took her to Children's and they gave her steroids and she's sleeping it off"
"Okay so nothing major"
"I swear I was stitting right next to her trying to calm her down and it was the scariest thing ever,I'm sorry"and now Billie had tears in his eyes
"Billie its okay,I get it,you don't have to be sorry,me and Laurie will be there in a little bit"
"Okay,bye"
"Bye"and Billie hung up and wiped his eyes and went back into Anna's room and she was sitting up and she spoke
"Hey Billie"she said sleepishly and he smiled
"Hey Youngblood"and he went and sat back down next to her and spoke
''That was your dad,he just asked what happened and I told him you had an asthma attack and that's it"
"Okay"and she gave him a hug
"Whats up Youngblood"
"Nothing just want a Billie hug"and he smiled and laughed a little
"You could've just asked"
"I know"and he hugged her back
"So your aunt and dad are on the way over here"
"Okay"so everyone woke up and Mike went on a coffee run and a little bit later Scott and Laurie showed up and Anna was discharged and everyone hung out and stuff and eventually Scott went and kicked it with Laurie again to catch up and it was a good end to the day.
