Ch.87 The Shot

So Joe went back to Wisconsin and stuff, Anna still wasn't very talkative,but she was getting better, slowly but surely, and she was bored one day, so she was just deciding what music she wanted to listen to and so she looked up some music related to Green Day and one of the bands that popped up was a band called, 'The Longshot' so she checked them out and low and behold it was Billie singing,and she loved it, so she listened to every song they had,which was like one full album and a couple EPs, so not a lot, but she loved every song, they gave her confidence boost,and the lyric, 'Everyone is happy and everyone is gay' that really made her smile and she immediately wanted to learn the chords,and she discovered that two of their songs were in Ordinary World, so she grabbed her phone and earbuds and went down in the studio, and grabbed Frankie, and figured out the chords by listening to the songs,so she was smiling,jamming out to some of her new found favorite songs,and Billie found her down there and she was in such a daze, playing, she didn't even notice that he was down there, and he just sat their, smiling,and watched her, and when she was done Billie spoke
"So which one's your favorite,Youngblood"and she spoke
"I don't know,I love them all"and Billie just laughed a little smiled
"You seriously taught yourself every song"and she nodded and spoke
"How did you not tell me about this,how many other side bands you got"and he spoke
"I lost track probably like four"
"Wait what"
"Yeah"and Billie grabbed a guitar and started jamming with Anna to some Longshot songs and they jammed for a while and had fun and Anna had a smile on her face,which made Billie smile and Anna spoke
"Do youy wanna know why I freaked out that night"
"Sure Youngblood"and she sighed
"Joe asked me why I don't go back to Wisconsin and I gave him a run down and I just had really bad memories playing over in my head and then I tried to not cry,by thinking of the countless good times we've had,and because I was on the topic of my family, I automatically thought about booze,then New Years,then I just broke down"and Billi gave her a hug
"It's okay Youngblood, I get it"he said smiling and she spoke
"This may sound really weird, even though I'm not talking a lot, but do you think we could do an interview,or something, like just us"
"Of course"so Billie went and called their manager and boom they had an interview with KROQ, so they headed over there and stuff and it was kinda like the 102.1 interview, over the air, and stuff so they started and the host spoke
"So here with us, Billie Joe Armstrong and Anna Kushner of Green Day,you guys have a recent album out Unconsious Perception and toured, now back underground, and Anna you've been dominating the skate world,how has it been"and Anna spoke
"Good"
"So why haven't we seen you lately"
"Well we had to go back to my hometown for reasons and it was really hard and when we came back here I just was really mentally messed up and self-destructive, I wasn't talking, hardly eating and sleeping and fading away,and it was really hard and I felt really bad, it affected the guys and Adrienne and pretty much everyone who cares about me"and Billie spoke
"But slowly but surly she's getting better"he said smiling
"And it was really hard for everyone,and Youngblood don't feel bad, we worried about her because we love her and it was just like one minute she was this talkative, energetic, motivated kid, then the next, not talking, unmotivated, anxious, but it comes along with being human, you have ups and downs, and you got people right by your side"and Anna realized something and spoke
"Since I'd been little, it'd been in my head that you aren't allowed to have downs, only always be happy, otherwise then you were a screw up, but I'm human, and I have amazing people to help me through anything"and Billie was smiling a little and laughed and spoke
"When Mike and Tre saw her after a while, I can only think of a couple other times that I've seen them that happy"he said smiling and Anna smiled and spoke
"Speaking of skating, Stacy fricking Peralta, I love him, he's amazing, I was upset because I was known as the first girl to skate for Powell Peralta and since I don't identify as a girl most of the time, I picked a gender neutral name and he had everything, every title changed"she said smiling and Billie spoke
"When we had a little get together and it was mainly Bones Brigade and Stacy was there and I swear Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk and the rest of them told me that they don't think that they had ever seen Stacy that happy before, and he even told Anna one time that she has that fun loving energy and lights up a room, and I for sure don't disagree with that"he said smiling and the host spoke
"Sounds like it's been pretty eventful,so you guys got anything new in the works" and Billie spoke
"Well what we will say is that Anna wrote this amazing song after I took her to Christie Road, it sounded like Still Breathing and Christie Road combined but it sounded awesome and that's for sure going on the next album" and the host spoke
"Well thanks guys,it's been nice having you"
"You too,thanks"so after that Anna and Billie just drove around for a little bit listening to music,so nothing new, then headed back home and Anna went down in the studio,just to chill and was listening to music and she came across some lyrics that she hadn't seen before and she read them and smiled, because just by the lyrics it sounded like it was a song about Adrienne and Anna, and Billie came down there and saw Anna reading the lyrics and spoke
"So what do you think Youngblood"he said smiling and she spoke
"I love them"and Billie was smiling, since Anna seemed really happy and he grabbed her had and started dancing and he spoke
"C'mon dance with me Youngblood"he said with a smile and Anna just laughed a little and smiled and started dancing with him and memories of when Billie gave her Frankie and they danced around, came flooding back to her, which made her smile even more and Billie was just happy that she was happy and it was like time itself had stopped, because of how care free and happy the moment was and it was awesome,so they just danced around for a while and had fun and relaxed and Billie spoke
"So Younblood,whatcha wanna do"
"I don't know, you got any ideas"and Billie had a smirk on his face and spoke
"Wanna maybe play a Lonshot show"and Anna immediately smiled
"Hell yes,that sounds amazing"
"Good,you cool playing with some different people Youngblood"Billie said smiling and Anna spoke
"Uh,yeah"and Anna was a little nervous about playing with different people, she didn't know if they'd like her, her playing style, or even be cool with her playing with them
"Okay, and don't worry, believe me they'll love you" and people went and called some people, so while he was doing that, Anna went and found Adrienne, outside with Bandit and little Billie
"Hey 80"and Adrienne turned around
"Hi Youngblood, what's up"and Anna sat down next to her
"I get to play a Longshot show with Billie and I'm honestly a little nervous about playing with different people"
"Believe me Youngblood, I know it'll be just fine, you always kick ass on stage"she said smiling
"Okay"and Billie found them and spoke
"Come here,Youngblood"and she went over by him
"You're really gonna like them, and we're playing at the Golden Bull a little later"
"Okay"and they headed down into the studio and just chilled, Anna was messing around on Whatersname and Billie was listening,and he liked what he was hearing, it sounded like she was making a new riff or something and Billie spoke
"That's really good Youngblood"
"Thanks" and Billie heard talking upstairs, and he spoke
"Sounds like they're here,c'mon Youngblood"so they headed upstairs and Billie introduced her
"Youngblood this is Kevin Preston, he plays guitar, David Field, drummer, and Jeff Matika, bass player" and they said hi to her and stuff,so they all headed down into the studio and talked and Anna got to know who these guys were, and they learned about her, and Billie spoke
"So who's up for jamming"and everyone was up for it, so Anna grabbed Whatsername and Billie spoke
"What song ya wanna play Youngblood"
"Chasing a Ghost"so they jumped into that and after they were done Billie was standing there with smile on his face and his hands on his hips,looking at Kevin, David, and Jeff and there were all in astonishment of Anna's playing and Billie spoke
"Told ya"and Kevin spoke
"Dang,kid, you can play"and Anna spoke
"Thanks"so then they jammed some more,and Anna got more comfortable and everything was good and Anna actually had a little smile on her face, which made Billie smile, Anna was actually having fun, and she actually really liked these guys,they could play and they were cool,so after jamming for a bit,they chilled and stuff, so they eventually headed over to the Golden Bull and stuff,so after awhile, next thing they know, they're ready to kick it and Billie spoke
"A new addition to the Longshot, also in Green Day and Foxboro Hottubs, welcome to the Shot, Youngblood"and Anna smiled a little,so they jumped into Love is for Losers,and Anna was having so much fun, she saw Adrienne and the guys, and she was actually smiling, so the set went something like this; The Last Time, Taxi Driver, Chasing a Ghost and of course, Anna's favorite lyric in that song
"Everyone is happy and everyone is gay" and she was actually singing along side Billie,and to hear and see her sing again, for sure put a smile on Billie's face; Body Bag, Love is for Losers, Cult Hero, Kill Your Friends and Anna for sure got her spunk back on that song with the lyric
"Fuck the world it's judgement day"and Billie say that tiny spark still in her, that made his day alone; Happiness, Soul Surrender, Turn Me Loose, Goodbye to Romance and so one full album down, and Billie was just smiling his ass off, because of how happy Anna was, he knew that playing or just jamming was a release for her, even though she still might not be as talkative, playing shows helps, and Billie gave her a hug, so then they jumped into Devil's Kind and Anna was having fun,for sure, then I've Got My Problems, Southern Girls, Can't Make it On Time, A Million Miles Away, I am Rock, Give it All to You, and of course they had to play Fever Blister, and Anna played her fucking heart out and was even jumping around and acting cynical a little and it was awesome,and Billie just well
"Oww oww oww" like he does during shows sometimes and it was amazing and Billie wrapped his arm around Anna and spoke
"Youngblood is back baby"and he was smiling so much and the crowd cheered and Anna had a smile on her face, and Anna went over by Adrienne,Mike,and Tre and Adrienne gave her a hug and was smiling so much, along with the guys and it was a really good show, legit everyone was all smiles and Anna went over by Billie and spoke
"Go have a couple beers,it's part of rock n roll,just a couple though"and Billie spoke
"Wait really Youngblood"
"Yeah,just don't get stupid, even though I'm still sensitive and not as talkative, I can still have fun, and I know you won't get stupid, because you have me and 80 to keep you in check, and nothing hard"and he gave her a hug, looked down at her and spoke
"I won't get stupid and it won't be like last time"he said smiling and he meant it,and Anna always wanted everyone to have, and she didn't want just being there restrict that and she knew that he wouldn't get stupid and knew his limit and he has people to keep him in check, she could deal with the bad memories later,so Anna went over by Adrienne and Billie went somewhere
"Hey Youngblood"Adrienne said smiling, Anna could tell that she was really happy and Anna spoke
"Y'know I want everyone to have fun right"
"Yeah"
"Well, since you guys watch yourselves around alcohol for my sake, it's fine, just don't get stupid, I want everyone to have fun and I don't want my bad memories restricting anyone's fun, so I told Billie to go have a couple beers and I got reassurence that he won't get stupid" and Adrienne spoke
"Youngblood you don't restrict anyone from having fun, we just don't want to see you hurt, because of bad memories, that's all"
"And I can deal with those later and it's because you guys love and care about me"Anna said smiling a little
"Yep"Adrienne said smiling
"If Billie's having fun, then I'm good"she said looking over and smiling at Billie and saw him having fun and sighed and smiled and looked back at Adrienne and she was smiling and spoke
"I'm glad that you're getting better Youngblood"and Anna spoke
"Me too" and Billi came over by them and saw both Anna and Adrienne smiling, and smiled and spoke
"How you doin Youngblood"and Anna spoke
"I'm good, just watching you have a good time"she said smiling at him and they were all smiling and Anna started laughing a little, and of course there was some rock music playing in this place and Billie spoke
"C'mon Youngblood,dance with me"he said smiling, so along with the majority of people, they were dancing and having fun and they both had smiles on their face and they didn't know that Adrienne was recording them, nothing new, and they were just dancing having a good time and Billie spoke
"I had two beers,that's it"and Anna just smiled a little bit at him and,so they stuck around and had a good time and Billie spoke
"So what do you wanna do now, Youngblood"
"Skate"and that one word put a smile on Billie's face
"Okay then"and he turned Kevin, Jeff,and David and spoke
"You ain't seen nothing, till you've seen her skate" so they headed over to Fremont skate park and Anna always has a board with her, why would she not, so a trick for skaters especially is have their earbuds under their shirt,and that's exactly what Anna did and she grabbed her board and started listening to Metallica's Creeping Death/Jump in Fire, because she was missing her dad and that's what they use to listen to everytime before they'd go skate, and she just hit it, Billie,Mike,Tre,Kevin,Jeff,David, and Adrienne, who of course was recording her skate, were all watching her, she was ripping it up and she was pulling everything off and either catching major air or landing everything, it was amazing and Billie got ahold of Stacy, to get over there and watch Anna skate,so little bit later Stacy showed up and just watched Anna in awe, ripping is up, and she was still going strong, for not actually being on a board in a while, pretty sure she even invented some new tricks, it was awesome, Kevin,Jeff,and David were all standing there in shock and Billie,Mike,Tre,Adrienne,and Stacy were standing there, watching her in awe,smiling, so after some really good skating she rolled up by everyone and Stacy spoke
"I'm pretty sure that you just came up with some new tricks"he said smiling and Billie spoke
"That was an amazing run, Youngblood, you're back"and Anna spoke
"In black"and Billie just laughed a little and Kevin spoke
"How can someone as talk as you do all of that, that much, that fast on and skateboard"and Anna spoke
"Passion, I don't know"and they were astonished by her skating,so everyone just chilled for a while and had fun and eventually Kevin,Jeff,and David left and Stacy just could not stop smiling and was so happy Anna was actually skating again and he eventually left and everyone headed back home and it was a really good day, adn the rest of it was filled with movies,laughter, and smiles, so all good, so far.
