Ch.51 Welcome to Paradise

Billie woke up before everyone else and just sat on the floor leaning against Anna's dresser just watching her,in a none creepy way and she was still passed out and he had tears in his eyes trying to not start crying and started thinking of what they were gonna do in Oakland and he smiled at it and how happy he gonna try to make Anna,he knew that they would have to help her through this with love and support,but thinking about it broke his heart to see her like this, how a kid so awesome,real,loving,strong,and caring could fall like that hard,twice,Billie also knew that the amount of shit she has went through since she has been three,people can only deal with so much until they break,and that thought,that Anna being the strong kid she is and pulled through for so long could break,made him cry but had to stop in case Anna woke up and she did and she saw Billie sitting there smiling and Billie spoke
"Hi"he said smiling
"Hi"she said in a small voice and Billie got up and gave her a hug
"Are you excited"and she just nodded and smiled and that made Billie smile,and they went out by the guys,Adrienne and Joan and they all gave her a hug and Billie spoke
"So who wants coffee"and everyone raised their hand and he laughed,so him and Anna headed to Starbucks and got coffee for everyone and Anna just held Billie's hand but he didn't care,and when they were walking back, Anna sniffled and Billie noticed
"Hey whats wrong"
"I-I just I gotta get out of here,there is too many painful memories and the people and the places alone"and Billie pulled her into a hug
"Hey its okay I get and you won't have to be around here much longer'
"I know but its just I don't know"
"I get it"he said smiling
"Now lets head back so Mike doesn't loose his shit without caffine"he said laughing and that made Anna smile and laugh a little
"Yeah"so they headed back and everyone got coffee so no one lost there crap,so they all relaxed and listened to music,then packed,then relaxed after that and just took it easy then Scott showed up
"Hey guys,hi sweety"and he gave Anna hug
"I just came to say goodbye,and then I have to head back to work"
"Okay I love you dad and don't get arrested while I'm gone okay"
"Okay I won't"he said laughing
"Well have fun you guys,call me when you land,okay"
"Okay bye dad'
"Bye love you bye guys"and they all said bye to Scott and he left ,so they relaxed for a little bit then headed to the airport and boarded their flight and began their 4 hour trip back to California and when they landed they just drove home and  Joan spoke
"I'm gonna kick it in the studio on the couch"
"Sounds good"so she went down in the studio and Anna went up to her room and just jumped on her bed and smiled and little Billie followed her and jumped up on the bed next to her and she sat back up and saw Billie standing in the doorway smiling and Anna spoke
"What"
"Nothing just you"
"Okay" and he went and sat on the bed next to her
"So what do you wanna do"
"I don't know,oh wait I have to call my dad"so Anna grabbed her phone and called her dad
"Hi dad,we just got back to Billie's house"
"Okay kiddo"and he sounded super happy
"You sound really happy"
"Yeah guess what"
"Huh"
"The bitch died"
"Holy shit really"
"Yeah Tosa PD just called and told me"
'Ha,does Jenny know"
"I bet and I can only imagine the look on her face"
"Yeah god that just made my day"
"Good,bye sweety I gotta get back to work"
"K bye dad"and she hung up,and fell back on the bed laughing and Billie had a confused look on his face
"Huh what happened"
"My grandma died,the bitch finally dropped"she said smilling
"Oh well then she can't effect you or your dad anymore so thats good"
"Yeah,I gotta call my other aunt and tell her man she's gonna get a kick outta this"so she called her aunt
"Hey aunt Luarie guess what"
"What"
'Grandma died"
"Wait really"
"Yeah Tosa PD just called my dad'
"Well then she is officially gone,thats good"
"Yeah"
"Wait does Jenny know
"Yep"
"Oh man I can only see her face"
"Yeah,well I'm gonna go,bye"
"Bye Anna"so she hung up and was just laughing
"So what should we do"
"Ice cream"so they headed and got ice cream then hung out and relaxed and they headed up to the point and Anna spoke
"Do you think we should show Joan the ledge"
"Sure I don't see why not"
"And can I ask you a favor"
"Sure"
"Um can you keep up and check up on my dad from time to time since I kinda can't um right now"
"Of course"and Anna gave him a hug
"Thank you,um can I explain why"
"Sure"
"So my dad like me,my grandma fucked us both up but he has way more time on me, like the mental abuse we are so hard on our selves and we say bad things about our selves and we feel like we don't deserve anything nice,anyway basically she put us down so much where for him,he is a terrible dad,he is never gonna amount to anything and is a bad person and for me I'm never gonna amount to anything and pursuing a career in music is stupid  and she just fucked us up and that is one of the main reasons we are the way we are and my dad is so hard on himself and basically self destruction but just verbal and not sleeping or eating that much and thats why I want you to check up on him" and then when she was done talking she started crying and shaking
"God everytime I go somewhere and he's not there I worry so fucking much about him,that I might come home and fucking dropped dead on the floor" so Billie just pulled her into a hug
"Hey its okay I'll check up on your dad and its okay she can't do any shit to you anymore and he would never do that to you he loves you too much and hell I would never let him do that its okay" and he just hummed and she calmed down
"Sorry"
"Hey you have nothing to be sorry about,you just care about your dad"
'Yeah"so they headed back home and Anna held Billie's hand the entire time but he didn't mind and she didn't talk and when they got back everyone was in the kitchen talking and they saw that Anna looked upset and she grabbed little Billie and went up in her room and went out on the ledge and Billie went in the kitchen and Adrienne spoke
"Hey whats up with her"and he sat down by everyone
"Well when she called her dad today he told her that her grandma the one who hated everything her and her dad stood for died she was as bad as it sounds was really happy and anyway when we were out she asked me to check up on her dad from time to time and she explained why and she said that her grandma fucked both her and her dad and her dad has way more time on her and she put them down so much basically her dad is a terrible dad and person and will never amount to anything and her that she will never amount to anything and pursuing a career in music is stupid and she is one of the reasons that they are so hard on themselves,just altogether completely fucked up their self esteem"and Adrienne looked at him in shock
"God does she have no one fucked up in her family"and Billie just sighed
"And she said everytime she goes somewhere and her dad isn't there she worries so fucking much about him and that she might come home and he be dropped dead on the floor,then she broke down and started crying and shaking" and Joan spoke
"Man that kid is way to grown up for her age its almost concerning"
"Yeah that amount of crap she's seen and been through will do that,and this morning when we were still at Scott's I started crying to know that a strong kid like her could break like that twice and the first time she got through it on her own god that had to be tough"
"Well the important thing is that she has us now to help her through it"
"Yeah,well I'm gonna go check on her"so Billie got up and went up Anna's room and knocked on her door and no answer,so he went in and Anna wasn't there but then he saw the window open,so he walked over and stuck his head out the window and saw Anna on the ledge and she was sitting with her knees pulled up to her chest with her head resting on her knees,so he got an idea and went back downstaris and made hot cocoa and nodded to Joan to follow him so they headed back up to Anna's room and Billie stopped at the door and turned to Joan
"I'm gonna show you something and you can't tell anyone,okay"
"Okay"so they headed into Anna's room and Billie grabbed the little radio and then climbed out the window and Joan kinda looked a him like he was crazy but she just followed his lead and climbed out the window and ended up on the ledge and so they sat down next to Anna and she looked up and her eyes were red and puffy and Billie smiled and handed her a cup of hot cocoa and gave her a hug and she saw Joan and smiled and spoke
"So do you like the ledge"she said to Joan
"Yeah its cool and the view is cool" and Joan just smiled at her to try and cheer her up and it worked a little,and Billie turned on the little radio and Anna cheered up a little bit and Billie spoke
"Y'know you having me check up on your dad just shows how much you care and love your dad and thats not a bad thing at all"
"Yeah I know he's like my only biological family left besides my aunt and he's awesome,I remember one day I was talking to my aunt and she said that she gets a kick out of him parenting since she's ten years older then him and I told her that his parenting paid off because I'm a music freak like him and I have a crap ton of Cds and and iPod from 2008 and she got a kick out of that"and Anna was smiling,which made Billie smile and he spoke
"Didn't some kid at your old school trash you for having Cds and an old iPod"and Joan spoke
"Some kid did that"
"Yeah and I laughed in his face and he told me I wasn't cool,no one is real anymore"
"Apparently,you would have been just fine in our generation"Joan said
"Oh I know that,I used to go to school and say I was born in the wrong generation and it would confuse the fuck outta kids in my class" and Joan just laughed
"Nice"so they sat out there and just relaxed and had fun talking,and eventually looked at the time by after a while and Billie spoke
"Holy shit its one in the morning"
"Oh dang"so all three of them climbed back in the window and Joan said goodnight to Billie and Anna,then went back downstairs and headed down to the studio and Billie spoke
"Do you want me to crash on the couch  or leave you alone"
"Um no I'll be fine"
"Okay,Billie hug"and Anna nodded and Billie gave her a hug
"Night Anna,love you"
"Night Billie,love you too" so Billie left and Anna knew she wasn't gonna sleep tonight,she was too worried about her dad,she knew that her bitch of a grandma's death was gonna bring up some old shit from the past with her dad and it was gonna bother him so she went out on the ledge and waited until everyone was asleep and she needed to clear her head so she grabbed her phone and she snuck downstairs and grabbed her board and went out the back and started skating and she used everything her dad taught her about looking out for cops and skated up to the park and sat up on the playground and she got her head clear mostly and riding helps so she headed up to the skate park near the park and skated around for a little bit and then saw a cop car
"Oh shit"and she started skating like hell but the cops caught up with her only because she fell
"Fuck" and one of the cops got helped her up and they walked back to the cop car and one of the cops spoke
"Whats your name"
"Anna Kushner"and the other cop had a weird look on his face
"Wait are you Marie Kushner's grandaughter"
"Yeah"
"What are you doing in Oakland"
"Its a long story"
"You know that the curfew is 10:00"
"Yeah"
"Why are out"
"Um I needed to clear my head,and my dad is back in Wisconsin and he has full custody and my mom has no connection to me"
"So who do we need to call"and she grabbed her phone and unlocked it and gave it to one of the cops
"Go in my contacts and find the one that says Billie and call him"
And meanwhile back at home,Joan woke up with a bad but similar feeling and went and checked on Anna,she wasn't there,so she went around the house and looked for her and even looked on the ledge and she could not find her so she went and woke up Billie
"Billie wake up,wake up Anna's gone"and he woke up and they both went in the kitchen and he spoke
"Wait Anna's gone"
"Yeah I woke up and I had a bad feeling so I went and checked on Anna and she was nowhere"
"Oh shit"and then Billie's phone rang
"Anna"
"No um this is a member of the Oakland PD,we picked up Anna for being out after curfew,we'll take her down to the police station and you can pick her up"
"Okay thank you" and hung up and looked at Joan
"She got picked up by the cops for being out after curfew"and he was kinda laughing and Joan spoke
"Billie dude why are you laughing"
"I am kinda surprised that she got picked up,because when she rides she rides when we ran from the cops man did she fucking ride"
"Oh"
"Yeah so lets go pick her up"
"Yeah"so they left
Meanwhile the cops drove her to the police station and by law they do have the right to hold her,but they didn't put her in a cell she just sat in a chair and waited and the cop who asked her about her grandma waited by her in case she tried to make a run for it and a few minutes later Billie and Joan showed up
"Anna you good"
"Yeah I'm good" and the cops spoke
"Wait by Billie you meant Billie Joe Armstrong and oh my god Joan Jett"
"Yeah,so can I leave"
"Um yes but um so your dad gave you permission to come to Oakland right"
"Yeah Billie called and asked and he was fine with it"
"So then you would just have to sign some papers" the cop said to Billie and he spoke
"Okay" so the cop handed Billie some papers and he signed them and handed them back to the cop
"Okay Anna you are free to go and say hi to your grandma for me"
"Um thanks and okay"so Billie,Joan,and Anna walked out of the police station and Billie started laughing
"Huh"
"I just can't believe you being your dad's kid actually got caught"
"I fell off my board"and Billie stopped laughing
"Oh"and Joan started laughing
"Why are you laughing"
"Same as Billie"
"Oh" and Billie spoke
"So you waited til all of us were asleep,snuck out of the house way after curfew and rode around and from the cops,fell off your board and got picked up by the cops"
"Are you mad"
"Actually I'm kinda proud,because that is something I would do ,but you just got caught"
"Oh wow"
"And I think your dad would be too"
"Yeah he taught me how to look out for cops and and tips to run from them"and Billie started laughing
"You have the coolest dad ever"
"Yeah"
"And next time you do that try not to get caught and leave a note at least so we don't freak out" he said still laughing a little
"Will do" so they headed back home and Joan said goodnight,well good morning in this case and headed back down in the studio and so it was just Anna and Billie and he spoke
"Just don't scare us like that,just leave a note and try not to get caught and we won't ever be mad at you,it just kinda scared Joan when she couldn't find you and it scared me when she said you were gone'
"Okay and I'm sorry I just needed to clear my head because I couldn't stop thinking about my dad"
"You don't have to be sorry and I get it"
'Okay"
"And its like four in the morning,so do you wanna sleep and wake up at like two in the afternoon and be all fucked up or stay up, caffine high and music and just be slap happy the rest of the day"
"Stay up,caffine high,music and slap happy"
"Okay then"so they went in the kitchen and Anna hopped up on the counter and Billie made coffee,and handed Anna cup of coffee
"So do you wanna go on the ledge or the backyard"he said hopping up on the counter
"Um backyard"
"Okay"so they got down off the counter and grabbed a blanket,so with their coffee, they headed into the backyard and laid the blanket down in the grass and Billie turned music on outside but not really loud so no one woke up and got mad and Anna spoke
"Y'know my dad kinda got irritated because I stay up really late"
"Well I see where he's coming from but you've done that so long you can't stop right'
'Yeah"
"Well what do ya think your dad will think 'bout you getting picked up by the police"
"I think that he will tell me to just not get caught next time"and Billie started laughing
"What"
"Just that you at 14 can say that,I don't know"
"Can I explain something"
"Sure"
"Y'know how like I keep saying I want to leave Wisconsin behind and the people in it"
"Yeah"
'Well the song Walk Away from !Tre! really hit me in a way not a lot of other songs do,like I heard it after I was better from not being okay and I,it really just made me think like when I hear that song I literally think about me holding all of these fucked up things that have happen in my life there growing up and throwing them down on the ground and walking away and leaving it all behind and actually walking away and I don't know that song just really, I could realate to it and like the song Walking Disaster,by Sum 41 I fell pure freedom and emotion so again I thank you for making that song"and Billie gave her a hug and spoke
"Your welcome and we get to see Sum,Blink,and Fall Out Boy in like two weeks"
"Oh yeah"
"And I bet for Blink I can pull some strings and make sure you have an amazing time,and I think for Sum and and Fall Out Boy,hell I will make sure you will have the best time ever"and Anna gave Billie a hug
"Thanks Billie'she said smiling,which made him smile
