Ch.69 Best of Both Worlds

So the week went on and Anna had probably the most anxiety a person could possibly have,and it mad Billie and everyone else upset,knowing they couldn't do anything to help,besides try and cheer her up,so they played shows and Anna was killing it,channeling that anxiety and frustration into playing,but at the same time she was there but was also distant,everyone knew that she was in a daze,especially Billie,he had anxiety about when it was gonna finally hit her,because he knew what the aftermath would be and it breaks his heart just thinking about it,and he knows he can't do anything to stop it,so the day of the funeral finally came,and Anna woke up paralized with so much anxiety she was visibly shaking,and the only way she stopped was if someone hugged her and everytime she talked she stuttered so she just didn't talk,so to distract herself she tried playing 'Frankie'but her hands were shaking so much she could barely hold the pick and it broke everyone's heart to see that Billie legit almost started crying,because it was like watching a younger version of himself,filled with that much anxiety,so she stood there with 'Frankie' around her,shaking with tears in her eyes,so she set 'Frankie' down and went over by Billie
"I-I can't e-even play"and she had tears running down her face,and Billie just hugged her
"Its okay Youngblood,it'll be okay"so once Anna stopped crying Billie smiled to see if that would make her smile and it worked,he got a smile outta her,he'll take what he can get,so everyone tried to relax as much as possible before the funeral and Billie basically hugged Anna the whole time,so she felt better,and because it broke his heart so much to see her basically paralized with so much anxiety that she was shaking,it made him want to cry,so everyone eventually got ready and stuff and finally left and in the car Billie was hugging Anna the whole time,so she didn't shake,so they eventually pulled up to the church,same one as the times before,and got out and Billie held Anna's hand and everyone walked in and just like last time,a wave of heads turned and looked at them
"Anna"two little kids said running over by Anna,it was her younger cousins from Kentucky and Anna let go of Billie's hand and crouched in front of them
"H-Hey guys"and she gave them both a hug and one of her younger cousin,Ella spoke
"Who are those people behind you"
"T-Those are m-my friends"Anna said smiling,she was happy to see her cousins,she just wished not under these circumstances and her other little cousin Issac spoke
"Who are they"
"T-This is Billie"and Billie smiled at her younger cousins
"T-That's Mike"Anna said pointing at Mike
"T-That's Tre"she said pointing at Tre
"T-That's Joan"she said pointing at Joan
"A-And that's A-Adrienne"she said pointing at Adrienne and her cousin Ella spoke
"I'm Ella and this is my little brother Issac"and everyone said a variation of 'hi' and Anna spoke
"D-Do you guys w-wanna know something c-cool"and he cousins nodded
"M-Me and my f-friends are a-all famous"and her cousins looked in shock and Ella spoke

"That's so cool"and Anna was still smiling and someone walked over by them,it was her mom's younger sister

"Damn"and Anna remembered
"D-Damn the l-last chaos f-free time I-I saw t-them was Uno, D-Dos, Tre era,I-I was six"and Billie spoke

"Well I won't let her"so everyone kinda just ignored them and for once didn't make a scene until Anna's grandma noticed she was there and she came over by them

"I-Its my m-mom's funeral"
"Yeah but she killed herself over you so you don't deserve the right to be here"and Billie was just standing there worrying to fucking death that anything that her grandma would say might get to her and Adrienne just wasn't having it
"Anna does have the right to be here,it's her mom's funeral for gods sake,and the kid actually has morals and respect and do you even know what she did when her mom came over and basically tried to turn her life upside down,she ran away because of how upset she was and like it or not she was Tiffany's flesh and blood too and she wouldn't even want her own mother dictating if her kid can come to her funeral,so drop it"and Anna's grandma didn't want to be the one to start and,or cause a scene,so she just walked away and didn't say anything and Anna gave Adrienne a hug

"Of course Youngblood" and her mom's dead beat husband got word that they were there and he was one who had no problem causing a scene
"Anna you ungreatful brat,and that's putting it nicely why are you here"
"I-Its m-my mom's funeral"
"You don't deserve the right to be called her child"and Billie was ready to go
"Okay listen,one don't talk to her like that,she is still a kid,and two she actually has morals and respect and like it or not she is Tiffany's child adn not even you can change that so just stop and was Anna the one who rammed those pills down her mom's throat,no she wasn't so stop saying shit like she killed her mom,Tiffany did that,not Anna,so stop and you are a poor excuse for a husband let alone a man to talk to the child of your wife, so if you want to be blamed for making your wife's funeral a living hell,then go ahead do something,just not Anna"and her mom's husband had a stunned look on his face and he finally spoke
"Anna just so you know I will never forgive you for any pain you put your mom through"

"Hi former partner in crime how's your pathetic life been"that was a reference to their childhood nicknames they had
"F-Fine,l-look who b-behind me"and everyone just looked at her cousins with a death glare

"H-How in t-the h-hell d-do you not k-know who G-Green Day and J-Joan J-Jett is"and her cousin just gave her a dirty look

"She has fought plenty battles and most on her own at 14,so now she doesn't have to because she has people that love and care about her unlike anyone in you fucked up family,as seeing you're a result of it"Adrienne said,and she was ready to go

"You are nothing but a depressed,suicidial,mental,weak,pathetic excuse of a cousin"and Billie was hugging Anna,so she didn't got at someone and so she didn't have a breakdown and he whispered to her
"Don't listen to her, Youngblood"and Joan wasn't having this
"Leave Anna the fuck alone,whatever messed up version you were told is wrong so go bother someone else"and Ava had the guts to

"I'm Joan fucking Jett that's who and your cousin is probably one of the kick ass punkers ever so screw off before I actually get pissed"and her cousins walked away,so the service started and they sat through the mass and people said stuff and Anna didn't want to say anything so the service ended and stuff and when they were walking into the gathering area Anna's younger cousin Luke jumped her from behind and had her on the ground and he managed to break her brabbed wire necklace and choked her a little bit, but she's bigger and stronger so she kicked him in the private and punched him and was on the ground and stayed on the ground and then Ava tried to punch her,but failed and she ended up getting slapped by Anna instead
"Don't fucking touch me"and Billie and Joan were tyring so hard to not dying laughing from watching Anna slap Ava, and Anna went over by Adrienne,with the the broken remains of her necklace,and she had tears in her eyes and Adrienne gave her a hug
"It's okay, Youngblood,I'll get you another one"she said smiling,and Anna blinked her tears aways and went over by her younger cousins and gave them hugs
"Do you guys wanna go to a concert and see me and my friends perform"and Anna realized her stutter was gone,victory and Ella asked her mom and she spoke
"Anna you want us to come and see you guys live"
"Yeah,I want Ella and Issac to have a fun time"it was an innocent question,she just wanted her younger cousins,who she never sees to have a good time
"Well I don't see why not"
"Okay great,its at the Fiserv Forum tonight at 7:00"
"Okay and I think Mamaw wants to see you"and Anna's stomach dropped
"O-Okay"shit her stutter's back and and went back by Billie

"Its okay Youngblood"so Anna and everyone else went over by her great grandma

"L-Long story,um Nicole is bringing Ella and Issac to a show tonight,would you wanna come"
"Of course,honey I would love to,and now we can both hit on girls''her aunt said nudging her and Anna laughed a little
"S-So this is Billie,M-Mike,T-Tre,Billie's w-wife Adrienne,and J-Joan"and her aunt said hi to everyone,okay maybe there are two sane people left in her family, her aunt Chrisy and her uncle Shannon
"Bye C-Chrisy I'll s-see y-you later"so everyone left and for once they walked out unharmed and when they got outside Billie spoke
"Well it could have been worse"
"Y-Yeah"so they left and headed back to Scott's and relaxed for a little bit then practiced and Anna could actually play now,so she had a smile on her face,which made everyone smile,so they practiced and stuff,relaxed,then packed up and headed over to the Fiserv and did a soundcheck and practiced some more and as usual Anna went and chilled in the rafters and Billie found her and spoke
"Y'know you aunt Chrisy is pretty cool and actually sane"
"Yeah"and Billie pulled her into a hug
"Love you Youngblood"
"Love you too Billo"
"Hey your stutter's gone"Billie said looking at her with a smile on his face
"Oh yeah,that's good"so they chilled up there and Anna got down and Billie followed her and she went and grabbed something.it was her fricking skateboard and she started skating around on stage and Billie was just dying laughing and recording it and Anna spoke
"What do you expect from me"
"Nothing less''his said between laughs,so after Anna skated on stage for a little bit she went and grabbed Frankie and started playing while riding her skateboard and Billie was recording it
"Youngblood here has made rock'n'roll history and found her signature move"and she gave him a thumbs up,so after that all happened they chilled for a little bit,then before they knew it they were walking across the stage and Anna saw her cousin's,their mom,and her aunt in the front row and Billie spoke
''Youngblood has a very special signature move for us later that made me laugh my ass off so yeah"and they jumped into Bang Bang,so after like five songs they played King for a Day Anna spoke
"Okay,one I'm gonna laugh to death in about a minute,from Billie and two will my aunt Chrisy get her butt up here"and security got her on stage
"This is my aunt Chrisy,she is gay just like me and is awesome,so now we both get to hit on girls"and her aunt laughed
"And your about to laugh to death in a minute"and her aunt walked off the stage back into the audience and Billie being Billie,had Anna laughing her ass off on the ground so hard, she couldn't even sing,so like two songs later they played Youngblood and as usual Billie was standing next to Anna with his arm around her and they were both smiling and singing
"Anna's my little Youngblood"and everyone's favorite part
"She said fuck you I'm from Oakland"and they flipped off the crowd,so after that they played Revolution Radio and between switching songs Anna brought her cousins up on stage and she crouched down to their height
"This is my cousin Ella and Issac and this is their first Green Day concert, so what do you think of it" and she handed Issac the mic
"It's really cool and loud" and then Ella
"I like it,and my cousin's famous,and why does Billie call you,Youngblood"and Anna and Billie were laughing
"That's his nickname for me" and she gestured at them to wave at the crowd and they did and she gave them hugs and they went back in the audience,so then Anna went and grabbed her skateboard and when she walked out on stage a people realized what she had they went nuts,so they jumped into American Idiot and Anna was,playing while riding her skateboarding smiling,so then they played Boulevard of Broken Dreams,Good Ridance,Ordinary World and Thank You
"We love you,thank you and goodnight"and they walked off stage and Anna met her aunt,cousins and their mom back stage and for some random reason her mom's sister started going off on her
"You just acted like your mom didn't just kill herself and played a show like nothing even happened,shame on you"
"I did nothing wrong okay,I wanted to just bring Ella and Issac here to have a good time"and Chrisy spoke
"Nicole,the kid did nothing wrong,and she's happy so what if she's not in tears"
"Yeah well I'm leaving"and Anna gave her cousins hugs and said goodbye and right before they left Billie pulled her mom's sister aside
"It just hasn't hit her yet and when it does it won't be pretty so be nice to her"
"I guess you're right,thanks"
"Yep"and they left and everyone hung out for a while and eventulaly Chrisy left,so they packed up their stuff and headed back over to Scott's and they could do what ever now,so everyone pretty much relaxed and took it easy and Anna was sore as fuck, from being takled by her cousin,playing a show and stakeboarding,she was just laying on the floor and Billie laughed at her a little,so Anna went over by Billie and sat dowm next to him and well
"Billie hug attack"and he pulled her into a hug and was smiling and so was Anna,which made everyone else happy,and Anna was so sore and tired as hell that she passed out in Billie's arms and Adrienne spoke
"Billie look"she said pointing at Anna and Billie looked down at her and saw she was passed out and smiled and he spoke
"She was so tired she passed out"so eventually everyone passed out and stuff,they were worn out too,and Billie fell asleep with a smile on his face and Anna woke up at like 2:00 in the morning and it hit her,her mom was dead and she started crying and shaking and hugged Billie and he woke up and hugged Anna immediately
"Its okay Youngblood,its okay"
"B-But I'm the reason she's dead'
"No, no you're not,that was her choice she did that not you,you didn't make her"
"But I-I don't have a mom anymore"
'You have Adrienne,right"
"Y-Yeah"and she just kept crying,because it finally hit her and it broke Billie's heart because he knew it was coming and it hurt him to see her like this or even go through, remotely, what he went through when his dad died and all he did was hug her and calm her down and made sure that she knew that it was okay and she cried so much and wore herself out that she fell asleep again and Billie just hugged her and sighed,he started thinking back to when his dad died,and it fucking hurt,but he did it to think of what even made him feel a little bit better when it finally hit him,music,the most diverse form of expression in the world,and he had tears in his eyes,his heart being broken,knowing it finally hit Anna and not knowing how she would be tomorrow,and think about his dad,and he just hugged Anna,which made him feel better,she always makes him happy,no matter what,and he had to think about how he was gonna play this,he knew that Mike was gonna get it the most out of everyone because he was there for Billie when his dad died,he needed to clear his head about this,but slight problem,Anna's practically on top of him and he sighed in defeat and smiled
"Damn it Youngblood,why are you so cute''he said in a whisper and hugged her,her goes another sleepless night.
(5:00 am)
Anna woke up and Billie noticed and smiled at her
"Morning Youngblood''she kinda just had a blank expression on her face and he gave her a hug
"Wanna go watch the sunrise"and she nodded her head,so they grabbed coffee as usual and headed over to the football field and sat up in the bleachers and watched the sunrise and Billie being Billie,pulled out his phone and took a picture of Anna watching the sunrise,almost stuck in a daze and posted it and the caption was 'She's my little sunrise' and he smiled at it and set his phone down and gave her a hug,he knew Anna was gonna be sensitive today,but he knew of somethings that she's good at to get all those fucked up emotions out, playing and skateboarding,so he started coming up with ideas,so Billie played some music on his phone to see if that would cheer her up a little bit and it kinda worked,and she smiled a little,which made him happy,he'll take what he can get
"Wanna know something that'll mess with Adrienne when we go back"
"Hmh"
''Call her 80"he said smiling
"She'll get a kick outta it"and Anna smiled back and then her face fell
"Come here Yougblood"Billie said with open armsand Anna scooted over by him and he hugged her
"I'm gonna hug you til you feel better"he said smiling and Anna wasn't complaining about that,so once the sun was fully up they walked around for a little bit and like no one was out and Bilie was holding Anna's had and he was humming,because he knew that it always cheered her up and calmed her down,and she thinks its cute,because she thinks Billie is the cutest person on Earth,but hey she has a point,so after that they went to Starbucks and got more coffee and Billie legit how childish this sounds,got Anna a cookie to try and cheer her up and she kinda laughed a little at it but it was appreciated,so tehy walked around for a little bit and Billie texted Adrienne what happened with Anna and stuff so she knew and gave everyone else the run down,so they knew what was up, and apparently some kid from Anna's old school was walking on the other side of the street and yelled
"Yo Kushner you're from Wisconsin not Oakland"and Anna flipped them off and so did Billie and he spoke
"She said fuck you she's from Oakland"and they walked away,so they headed back to Scott's eventually and Anna went and pet little Billie,which brought a little smile to her face and then Adrienne gave her a hug and Anna spoke
"Hi 80"and Adrienne laughed
"Did Billie tell you to say that"and Anna nodded
"You can call me that,since you have a nickname for Billie and we both use yours for you"and Anna gave her a thumbs up and she went back over by Billie and he was smiling,and he had the 'I have something planned' look on his face so Anna knew he was gonna do something,so they relaxed for a little bit and Billie spoke
"Come on Youngblood"and Anna just looked at him confused and Mike spoke
"So where we going"
"You'll see"and Billie grabbed his and Anna's boards and him,Mike,Tre,Adrienne,and Anna left and Anna knew that are well but had forgotten about some stuff so they got where Billie was gonna take them and it was another skate park,Anna had completely forget that Milwaukee,well technically West Allis,where her dad lives,right on the edge reight before Tosa starts,had another skatepark and Billie saw that look on Anna's face and it said it all and she gave him a hug,so they went over there and Anna saw her buddies and went up to them
"Where have you motherfuckers been"and they turned around
"Holy shit,Anna"and they gave her hugs and one of them spoke
"Question is where have you been"
"Long story,and don't you guys go to Tosa anymore"
"That place is fucking dead now,like its nice being the only ones up there but its like holy fuck this city is fake,no one fucking skates so we came to this one and its awesome,look at the fucking bowl"and she did and it was a super small drop in and had a fucking three step
"Okay that's fucking cool,wanna sakte this fucker"
"Thought you'd never ask"so they jumped on their boards and just teared it up,and Billie joined them,and Anna was doing shit she had never done before,like dropping in on ramps and going back on two wheels going down ramps,grinding on her trucks,and Adrienne was recording it all,and Billie had a smile on his face,knowing that she was skating all those fucked up emotions out,hell she was going so fast that she almost flew off the fucking ramp and her and her buddies and Billie were just skating it up,people were just watching them, and saying good stuff about their skating,so after almost four hours of hard skating and some bruises they chilled and just watched other people skate,and it was awesome and Anna spoke
"Y'know I've been thinking of somethings we could do when my dad gets outta rehab'
"Hmh"
"I wanna take him back to California and I want to got to everyone's skate shop like,Mike McGill's, Tony Alva's stuff like that"and Billie spoke
"That sounds awesome,so what else you wanna do today"
"I don't know,can you think of anything"
"Maybe"he said with a smile on his face
"Well what is it"
"Oh well y'know maybe going to a Van Halen concert up in Alppine Valley"and Anna tackled Billie in a hug
"Billie Joe Armstrong you best fucking person in the entire fucking world"and he was smiling that he made Anna happy
"And Van Halen fucking started playing together and no one told me"and Billie started laughing
"Yep Youngblood"he said giving her a hug and she spoke
"I swear to god I can't even,you're amazing and I love you"
"Love you too Youngblood,so you wanna go see Van Halen or what"
"Hell yes"and Anna said bye to her buddies and stuff and everyone left and stopped back at Scott's and dropped their boards off and grabbed some stuff,and Anna was so excited that she was almost shaking,so they headed up to Alppine Valley which is like a 30 minute-1 hour drive,so they got there and headed in and Anna almost lost her shit,they got fucking front row seats,and Anna gave Billie multiple hugs for that,and it made everyone happy that Anna had a smile on her face,so then it finally happened, Van Halen came out on stage,in the fucking flesh and Eddie spoke
"How you doin Wisconsin"and the crowd cheered
"Well we have an awesome surprise for you tonight,Anna get your punk ass up here"and Anna thought she was gonna loose it and she hugged Billie
"I fucking love you so much"
"You too Youngblood,now get up there"and she did a crew member handed her Frankie and Eddie started laughing because of the Frankenstrat design and Anna spoke
"Billie Joe Armstrong you amazing as fuck motherfucker,I love you and can I 51-50 someone's ass"and in the crowd Billie was laughing and so was Eddie,and they jumped into Jump and Anna was smiling her ass off, they played Jump,Best of Both Worlds, Run Around, Change, Hot for Teacher, Poundcake,Running With the Devil,Panama, Ain't Talking bout Love,Beautiful Girls and Dreams Eddie spoke
"Anna's dad Scott he's in rehab and he's a huge Van Halen fan and this show is being broadcasted,Scott I'm dedicating this show to you and give it up for Anna"and he gave her a hug and got down off the stage and hugged Billie like a million times and they enjoyed the rest of the show and had an amazing time,so after the show Eddie invited everyone backstage to hang and Alex Van Halen gave Anna,yes Alex fucking Van Halen gave Anna some signed drum sticks to give to her dad and she gave him and hug and Eddie gave her a pick she could not stop smiling,so eventually they left and frove back to Milwaukee and Anna passed out in the car,leaning on Billie, so they got back to Scott's and Anna is a very short,small 14 year old,why idk,and Billie carried her in the house and put her in bed and whispered
"Night Youngblood"and eventually everyone passed out.
(Time skip-2:30am)
Anna woke up with her mind racing after a terrible dream,and she went out in the living room and laid down next to Billie and hugged him and he woke up a little bit and heard a little sniffle and looked down and Anna laying next to him
"Hey Youngblood,what's wrong"
"I'm not okay"and he wrapped his arms around her
"It's okay Youngblood,I'm right here"
''I'm sorry"
"It's okay you have nothing to be sorry about"and she was crying a little bit more now
"I-I thought about it"and Billie sat up
"Come here Youngblood"and she sat up and he just hugged her
"It's okay"and he went and got her Rev Rad hoodie and she put it down and she laid back down and so did Billie and he hugged her to make sure that she was okay,and she passed back out and he whispered
"It's okay Youngblood,I got you".
