So Anna and Ella's generation, Gen Z has sparked an entire equality revolution after the death of George Floyd, at the hands of a cop, in Minnesota, which hit really close to home for Adrienne and Billie, there was rioting and protesting, Anna had already lived through the Sherman Park Riots, but in Wisconsin, which were only a couple blocks from her old house, she could hear the shouting, the shots, and see the smoke, sparked by the death of another unarmed black man at the hands of the police. Anna never really liked cops, because of her grandma, growing up where she did, seeing everything she did, and she used to go to school with a kid, whose dad use to work for the same police department as her grandma, and this motherfucker used some much excessive force on people he arrested, no matter what your skin color was, he even used excessive force on Anna's dad plenty of times, the fucking police department he worked for had to pay him off, just to leave, then he became a rent-a-cop. It was heart breaking and anger fueling to watch the video leading up to George Floyd's death, Anna wanted to be right along side people protesting and maybe some rioting, she wanted to break a lot of shit when she saw the video on the news, she did not give a damn if she got arrested, tear gased, hurt, or shot with a rubber bullet, and really didn't give a damn if there was a global pandemic happening. While the video was being played on the news, Billie and Adrienne could both see the rage boiling in Anna, then when they showed videos of the protests and rioting, a delish smirk appeared across her face and Billie spoke
"Damn, Youngblood you really want to go protest don't you" and Anna looked at him and spoke
"I will get on my hands and knees and fucking beg, if I have to"
"Love the determination and passion and no you don't have to beg" Billie said laughing a bit
"Wait, so we can go" and Billie and Adrienne saw the excitement in her eyes
"Of course, your generation is leading the revolution for equality, history is being made, and you want to be apart of it, with us along side you of course, so you don't clock a fucking cop and because it hits close to home" and Anna jumped up from where she was sitting and tackled Billie in a hug and said 'thank you' like a million times
"So when are we going" and Billie looked at Adrienne and spoke
"How long is the drive from here to Minnesota" and Adrienne spoke
"About a day, but I drive fast" she said smiling
"So we all get some rest and leave early in the morning and just fucking book it" Billie said smiling
"Hell yes, road trip" Anna said smiling, "wait what are we going to do about Ella" and Billie spoke
"Think it would be cool if she stayed with Joan" and she darted upstairs and found Ella and took her back downstairs by Billie and Adrienne and they explained what was going on and she was completely fine with it, Billie called Joan to see if it was cool with her and she was good with it and Tre was gonna watch Bandit and little Billie, so both Anna and Ella ran upstairs, excitingly
"Damn, Sonic" Billie said from downstairs, so Ella packed up some of her stuff and Joan came by and Anna hadn't seen her a while,so she was excited and Joan gave her a hug and spoke
"Hey, you little punker, you gonna go kick some racist cop ass"
"Hell yes" Anna said with a huge smile
"Nice" Joan said smiling and Ella came downstairs and Anna spoke
"I will see you in a couple days, you little fucker" she said giving Ella a hug, so Billie and Adrienne said 'bye' to Ella and her and Joan left, Anna was so excited, grabbed a backpack, packed some stuff, two pairs of clothes, the clothes she would wear to the protest, a can of spray paint, her polaroid, and some other stuff, it was about 10:30, so she went to bed, next thing she knew someone was shaking her
"Youngblood, wake up, we gotta hit the road" Billie said quietly and she sat up and saw it was still dark out
"What time is it" she said yawning and rubbing her eyes
"4:30" and she looked at Billie and saw his crazy bed head and laughed a little
"C'mon slap happy, get ready" Billie said with a tired smile and he went downstairs, so Anna changed and finished packing a few things and walked downstairs with her bag in one hand and one of her boards in the other and yawned
"Morning Youngblood" Adrienne said, giving her a hug and Anna just groaned, sleepishly
"C'mon my little protester, let's hit the road" so they put in their few bags in the back of the car and Anna hopped in the back seat, stretched out, and kicked off her shoes and spoke
"Someone wake me up to watch the sunset" and she put earbuds in her ears and fell asleep, and Billie and Adrienne were going to take turns driving, Billie was going to drive first, while Adrienne and Anna slept, so he started driving and about an hour later, Billie woke Anna up to see the sunrise and she took a picture or two with her polaroid, so about three hours later, they made a stop, for some food, coffee, and what not, at a small but what looked like cozy dinner, when Anna stepped out of the car, she almost fell over because of how long she'd been sitting
"Shit" she said, blinking her eyes back into reality, she was really out of it and Billie spoke
"You good, Youngblood" he said putting a hand on her shoulder
"Yeah, just out of it" so the three headed into the diner and grabbed a booth, it was pretty vacant, so they didn't feel the need to wear a mask and Anna noticed a wall of pictures of famous people and spoke
"Well damn, plently of famous people have been here, why don't we get you on that wall" and Billie looked at the wall of photos
"Only if you're in that picture with me" Billie said smiling at her
"You know it" Anna said smiling and a waitress walked up to them, she looked really young, probably early 20's, she had jet black hair, with a streak of purple in it and a little darker complection, and chocolate drak brown eyes and Anna noticed the Green Day bracelet on her wrist and she spoke
"Hi, what can I get for you guys" she said grabbing her pen and note pad and her face was priceless once she looked up and Anna just smiled at her and she spoke
"I was at your last show, it was awesome, and I'm trying really hard not to fan girl out"
"It's okay, um just some coffee for all us, for now" he said smiling at her
"I have my own little stash of Oakland Coffee in the back, if you want that"
"Sweet, oh hell yes" she said smiling at the waitress, "by the way what's your name"
"Taylor, and can I just say that for a teenger you can really kick some ass and you're really cute" and Anna face went red and Billie and Adrienne just laughed a little and Taylor spoke
"Well, I'll get those coffees for you" and she walked away and Billie spoke
"Well damn Youngblood, everyone thinks you're cute" he said nudging her with his elbow
''She's hot okay" Anna said with a still red face and Taylor came back with the coffee and spoke
"If you guys want, I can take your picture and put it on the wall of famous people that have been here"
"Sure" Billie said smiling, so Taylor came back with an old school polaroid and Anna scooted closer to Billie and he wrapped an arm over her shoulder and they both smiled as Taylor took the photo and she looked at the picture and smiled
"Nice" and she grabbed a Sharpie and looked at Anna and spoke
"Do you want to write, Anna, Andy, or Youngblood" and Anna spoke
"Um Youngblood and thanks"
"Of course" Taylor said winking at Anna and her face went red, "so where are you guys headed" and Anna spoke
"Minneapolis, to protest and kick some racist cop ass"
"Nice, just be careful" Taylor said, and Anna could tell that she was smiling behind her mask
"We will" Anna said smiling at her, so they ordered some stuff to eat and talked to Taylor some more, she seemed cool, so once they were done Billie spoke
"Youngblood, you gotta Sharpie on you"
"Always" she said handing him a Sharpie and he grabbed a napkin and signed it, then slid it to Anna, who also signed it, as a little momento for their cool waitress and Adrienne got up and went and looked at the picture of Anna and Billie, that was now hanging on the wall and spoke
"That's a really cute picture" she said smiing, so they paid and left Taylor a very generous $50 tip and started heading out of the diner, when Taylor spoke
"Would it be okay if I gave you two a hug" and Anna smiled and spoke
"Of course" and she gave Taylor a hug, then Billie gave her a hug, then handed them a to go tray with coffee for the road
"Hope you guys have a good trip" Taylor said with a smile
"Thanks" both Billie and Anna said at the same time and with that they left and hit the road again, Anna loved road trips and seeing different places, that's why touring was one of her favorite things ever, so they stopped a few hours later and it was about 11:30, not even noon yet, they stopped, stretched their legs, got some snacks, and whatever, so once they got back on the road, the three were jamming out Motley Crue, Poison, Van Halen, Joan Jett, and of course the Ramones, all the old school, good stuff for another couple hours, Anna was taking polaroids of a lot of cool stuff and landscapes, so at about 4:00 they stopped and it was Adrienne's turn to drive, since Billie had already driven twelve hours, so Adrienne got in the driver's seat and spoke
"Youngblood, you can be my co-pilot" so Anna hopped in the front seat and Billie got in the back seat and stretched out, grabbed his phone and put some earbuds in and closed his eyes to try and fall asleep, so Adrienne and Anna just talked about a lot of stuff and just whatever
"When my mom was still alive, I never really had any good female role models, except for music wise, now I actually have some, I got you and Joan to look up to and I'm glad" Anna said smiling and Adrienne was smiling
"I'm glad Youngblood" and they talked for hours and when the sun started to go down, Anna took pictures, because it was breath taking and once the sun was completely gonna, the stars were so beautiful, and Anna just stared at them, mezmerized and Anna, as a joke, took a picture of Billie sleeping in the back seat, and Anna leaned her seat back, but was careful not to hit Billie and curled up and let the feeling of the road drift her to sleep, and you know that when Adrienne stopped for gas, she took a picture of both Anna and Billie passed out and she gave Anna a kiss on her forehead and kept driving and they got into Minnesota at about midnight and got into Minneapolis at about quarter to 1am and found a hotel a safe distance from the protests and riots and Adrienne lightly shook Anna to wake her up
"Youngblood, wake up we're here" and Anna woke up, yawned, and spoke
"Fuck that was fast"
"Told you I drive fast" Adrienne said with a tired smile, "wake Billie up" so Anna jumped on top of Billie to wake him up
"Shit Youngblood, you scared me" he said rubbing his eyes and Anna got off of him and spoke
"80 told me to wake you up, we're here"
"Cool" so Anna grabbed her bag and her board, Billie grabbed his bag, and Adrienne grabbed her's and they got a room, and Adrienne was drained from driving, so she went right to bed and since Billie and Anna both slept, they weren't really tired and Anna was too excited and their hotel room just so happened to have a small balcony, so Billie and Anna sat out on the balcony and Billie spoke
"I think we might stay another day, I think 80 wants to show you around and she has a surprise for you, and plus if anything happens at the protest" and Billie could tell something was on Anna's mind
"Whatcha thinking Youngblood" and Anna spoke
"Well I kind of have an idea of when we leave, going to Milwaukee to protest too, because I know Wisconsin is one of the most segregated states, like it or not, it's my home town and I want to protest there and help and fight for equality in a place that's close to my heart and I understand if you say 'no' but I will actually get in my knees and beg"
"You don't have beg, Youngblood", he said with a small laugh, "I understand, and that sounds like a good idea, we can do that" and Anna basically hugged him to death
"Well this is going to be a very eventful few days" Anna said with a smirk and Billie just laughed a little
"Yeah, it sure is" and Anna stood up and spoke
"Well I'm going to try and get some more rest, wake me up for the sunrise"
"Okay Youngblood" Billie said giving her a tight hug and she went back in the room, crawled in bed, and tried to get some more rest, Billie just sat out on the balcony, thinking, he was honestly scared for Anna, he didn't want anything happening to her at the protest, because he knows cops are assholes, he knows Anna doesn't care if she gets hurt, but he does, he knows she wants to fight for equality, she always has, and that's one of the things he and Adrienne love about her, all Billie knew what that the protest was going to be unpredictable, he just sat there for hours thinking, so after four hours of thinking, he woke Anna up at around 5:30 for the sunrise, so they got some coffee and sat out on the balcony, watching the sunrise, it was almost like watching the clam before the storm and Anna spoke
"With you and 80, it's like you guys are my best friends, some what of parental figures, and cool aunt and uncle, all at the same time, I can't really put a name for what you guys are like to me" and Billie just smiled at her
"I understand Youngblood, we're your family, that's what we are, but hey we are pretty cool though" he said smiling
"Yeah"
"So what's the plan for today" Billie said taking a drink of his coffee
"Well, most likely protest, march along, speak out, spray paint some shit, maybe light a cop car on fire, who knows" and Billie just laughed a little
"80's gonna stay here, in case she needs to bail us out" so they just chilled out on the balcony, listening to the sounds or police sirens, yelling, and watching smoke erupt into the sky and Anna had a devilish smirk on her face and spoke
"This is gonna be fun" and Anna quietly snuck back into the room, grabbed her board and her two cans of spray paint, and went back out on the balcony and managed to spray paint most of her board white, then spray paint 'ACAB', 'BLM', and 'No Justice, No Peace' in black and Billie spoke
"That's really fucking good Youngblood" and she laid her board down to dry, so they just sat out there and talked for a few hours, then eventually Adrienne came out on the balcony with them, with a cup of coffee and saw Anna's board and spoke
"That's really fucking cool Youngblood"
"Thanks 80" Anna said smiling, so Anna told Adrienne about her idea to go to Milwaukee and Adrienne was completely onboard with it, so after a while, they got ready, went and got something to eat, and a few things to bring to the protest and headed back to the hotel, where Billie and Anna got ready for the protest, they both wore clothes that they didn't really care about, were baggy, and didn't really have any identifible logos, wrting, or markings on them, that made them kind of unable to, from a distance, for anyone to recongnize them, and Billie had a backpack that had whatever they were bringing to the protest and they both could tell that Adrienne was worried about them, which was understandable, and Anna was just excited as hell to protest, ready to go, ready to punch a racist or cop in the face, so Adrienne gave them both hugs and Billie spoke
"C'mon my little anarchist, let's go" he said ruffling Anna's hair, so they left and of course they had masks, they were walking to the protest, it was a good 45 min to an hour walk, but it was completely worth it, so once they got to the protest, it wasn't as violent as the news had protrayed it, which was to be expected, people were marching, yelling 'No Justice, No Peace', 'Black Lives Matter', and 'I Can't Breathe', there weren't many cops there yet, so it was as violent, since it was mainly the cops making it violent, so Anna took this opportunity to spray paint the sidewalk with 'ACAB', 'BLM', 'I Can't Breathe', and 'Fuck the cops', she also spray painted an abandoned police car, then when she was done, she went back over by Billie and put the spray paint back in his backpack, even he spray painted some stuff and Anna knew that she had to stay close to Billie, so then they were just chilling on top of the cop car they just vandalized, having a smoke and yelling back, 'No Justice, No Peace' and 'Black Lives Matter' and Anna was holing up her board that she spray painted and once more cops started to show up, Billie and Anna ditched the spray paint, incase they got arrested, soon police in full riot gear showed up, and the next thing Anna knows, she's being yanked of the top of the cop car and thrown on the ground and her arms put behind her back and she turns to see Billie in handcuffs to and one of the cops spoke
"Well what do we have here, the Green Day frontman himself and his little side kick" the smug cop said and Anna knows if she ever gets picked up by the cops to not say anything, unless you ask for your one phone call, then she was lifted to her feet and her side hurt, from being thrown on the ground, so they were taken down to the police station and Billie asked to call someone, so he called Adrienne, who came and bailed them out and when they were leaving the police station, Anna flipped off the cops who arrested her and Billie and Billie spoke
"Sorry that the protest was short lived Youngblood"
"It's fine, we still get to protest in Milwaukee, so it's fine'' so the rest of the day was spent by Adrienne showing Anna around and eventually the pulled up to this place and Anna was stuck in a daze, so she didn't notice, until Billie spoke
"Youngblood, we're at like one of you favorite places ever, a skate shop" and a smile immediately appeared on Anna's face and the overhead sign read 'Familia Skate Shop' and before they walked in Adrienne spoke
"This is my brother's skate shop, he's also pro" and Anna's mouth dropped and she spoke
"Your brother is pro and owns a skate shop and you never told me" and Billie and Adrienne just laughed at Anna's reaction and walked in and Adrienne spoke
"Hey little brother" and Adrienne's brother jumped over the counter
"Holy shit Adrienne, what are you doing her" he said giving Adrienne a hug and she spoke
"Well, these two decided to take a road trip to come protest" she said looking at Billie and Anna, "Youngblood this is my brother, Steve" and Steve spoke
"You're Andy Kushner, kid of Scott Kushner, you both skate for Powell Peralta, right" he said shaking Anna's hand and Anna's twitching started acting up she spoke
"Fuck, I'm sorry" and Billie and Adrienne just looked at her, concerned and Billie spoke
"Youngblood, what was that"
"Stimming or tics, it comes from my anxiety or the fact that ADHD runs heavily in my family don't know if I have to but those two things can be linked to stimming or tics similar to a person who has autism, I've had it my whole life, off and on, it just happens randomly, it got worse as I got older, I just hid it for a while, because I was embarassed about it"
"Well, you're not alone Youngblood, if you have ADHD welcome to the club I have it too, so do Mike and Tre and I stim sometimes"and Anna never knew that
"Oh cool" and Adrienne spoke
"You don't have to be sorry or hid it Youngblood, it's okay" Adrienne said, giving her a reassuring smile and Anna spoke
"Yeah, we skate for Stacy and are close with the original Bones Brigade"
"Shit, that's sick, I'm sponsored by Spitfire, Send Help Skateboards, and Hard Luck Bearings"
"Cool, you skate bowl and ramp or street"
"Street, man you've kicked in the door for skating, you have no clear how many girls, LGBTQ, or people from all over the gender spectrum of all ages have come here asking for your board, I hear all about you, almost everyday, plus you being from just one state over, you've impacted the skate scene more than you think" and Anna was speechless
"Wow, I never really realized or knew that" and Billie spoke
"Youngblood, you are like the first gender non-conforming pro skater and the first biological girl to skate for Powell Peralta, not only are you ripping it up on the skate scene, making skateboarding history, but also helping break society's norms" and Anna was left mind blown and Steve spoke
"So who taught you to skate"
"Well my dad for part of it, Billie a little bit, then I was mentored by the 'King of Street and Freestyle' himself, and then Stacy for a bit, now here I am"
"Damn kid, so you've skated along side the original Bones Brigade, Stacy Peralta, and who else"
"Tony Alva, Christian Hosoi and I also share a birthday with Jay Adams and Billie was also the reason I got to skate with like all of Bones Brigade"
"That's fucking cool, I also own an indoor skatepark not far from here and we got a half pipe, we don't have a bowl though, so while you're still in town, feel free to skate up there, and it's vacant because of the pandemic, so you get like the whole place to yourself and I'd like to see what you got"
"Oh cool, thanks"
"So did you kick some racist cop ass" Steve said joking
"No, I spray painted the sidewalk and a cop car, then me and Billie chilled on top of the cop car I spray painted and smoked, then some fucking asshole cop yanked me off the top of the car and threw me on the ground, but I did spray paint one of my boards to say 'ACAB', 'BLM', and 'No Justice, No Peace'"
"Damn"
"Yeah and after we leave, we're gonna head to Milwaukee and protest too" and Anna lifted up her shirt a little bit to reveal a huge multi-colored bruise that went from her hip to almost the middle of her side and both Billie and Adrienne's eyes went wide and Billie spoke
"That's how hard that pig threw you on the ground" and Billie sounded pissed
"Yeah, hey at least we didn't get corona from those dirty fuckers" Anna said, lightly brushing her fingers over her bruise, "it hurts when turn, twist, or move really, but I'm fine" and Adrienne spoke
"That does not look 'fine' Youngblood'' she said in a concerned tone
"I'll put some ice on it later" and Steve spoke
"So you can have a little momento from your very eventful trip to the Land of 1,000 Lakes, I'll let you put a board together, on the house"
"Sweet, thanks"
"No problem" so the deck was a black and white picture of the skyline of Minneapolis, with a red dot in the middle, the animated words that said 'Thank You' and below it said 'Familia' in caligraphy and she picked out some Indepedent trucks, Bones bearings for her wheels, and of course some Bones wheels, so all together a pretty cool board and Anna spoke
''Think you could put some rail gaurds on here for me"
"Of course" so Steve put some rail gaurds on Anna's new board
"I mean I have the board I took to the protest and spray painted out in the car, you can put it up on the wall if you want"
"Sure, if you want, I can tell you right now, you would love to see the next little girl's face when I tell her that's your board" and that put a smile on her face, so she went and grabbed her board and spoke
"Sharpie thief, you gotta Sharpie on you" and Billie laughed a little and spoke
"Always" he said handing Anna a Sharpie, so she signed her board, then handed it to Steve and he put it up on the wall
"Well damn, now I'm in the mood to skate" Anna said laughing a little and Steve spoke
"I can close up early, since no one's in here anyway, 'cause of covid, you guys can just follow me to the skatepark" so Steve closed up the shop and they headed to the indoor skatepark, so they headed in and Anna spoke
"It's kind of like the Braille house" and she had the entire thing to herself and it was so cool, so she went up on the half pipe and dropped in and she knew she had to be careful, because she didn't have any gear on, she had a really good run, until she fell and busted her shit
"You good Youngblood" and she winced in pain because she landed on her bruise and she got up and spoke
"Yeah, I'm good, I'm gonna fucking feel that tomorrow though" and Steve was impressed by her run, so she went down to the street course and started doing flat ground tricks and a few rail slides here and there and Billie saw the look of determination on Anna's face
"What trick are you gonna go for now"
"Front foot impossible"
"Okay then, go for it" Billie said smiling and she landed it and she skated away laughing, then went back over by Billie, Adrienne, and Steve and spoke
"Last time I tried pulling off one of those, I broke my arm and a contest" and she skated out of the warehouse and grabbed her polaroid and skated back by them and spoke
"Think I could get a picutre"
"Sure" and Anna handed Adrienne her polaroid and she took a picture of Anna and her brother and after Adrienne took the picture, Anna started to skate off and Steve spoke
"Hey where you goin', one for you and one for the shop" and Anna's anxiety kicked in and her face went red
"O-Oh sorry"
"It's completely fine" so Adrienne took another picture of them and Billie saw that Anna's anxiety kick in, so he gave her a reassuring smile, so Anna signed the photo and Adrienne spoke
"We should get going, I still wanna show Youngblood around"
"Well, it was nice talking to you and skating with you" Steve said smiling at Anna
"You too, man, I'd be cool to skate with you again"
"Yeah, and I know my sister will show you some cool places" and Adrienne gave Steve a hug and said bye, so Billie, Adrienne, and Anna left and they just drove around, Adrienne showing Anna places and Anna took some pictures with her polaroid, so after a while of driving, they got some to eat, and headed back to the hotel and Anna finally got to ice her bruise and when she lifted up her shirt, her bruise had gotten worse and her eyes went wide
"Holy shit" she said laughing and Billie and Adrienne looked at Anna's bruise and Adrienne spoke
"Damn"
"Holy fuck, that looks painful" Billie said shocked, so Anna just iced her bruise and spoke
"So what time we leaving tomorrow" and Billie spoke
"About 6am, it's only a five hour dirve, but 80 drives fast" and they just relaxed and eventually fell asleep, the next morning Anna was the first one up, so she went and got some coffee for the three, then took a shower since she hadn't showered in like three or four days and changed, then went and chilled out on the balcony, then about fifteen minutes later Anna felt someone wrap their arms around her and spoke
"Morning floof head" and it was Billie and her twitching just had to act up, because she accidentally hit Billie
"Shit, I'm sorry" Anna said panicked and her face went red, then she just ended up staring at her lap
"Hey, it's okay Youngblood" Billie said smiling at her and he noticed a bruise on her thigh, since she was wearing shorts and he spoke
"What's that from"
"Stimming, when I stim sometimes I slap my thigh, most of the time really hard"
"Damn" and Anna laughed a little and spoke
"I got a big bruise on one thigh and spray paint on my other leg, so it looks like I got fucked by an artist" and Billie just laughed and spoke
"I mean kinda" and Anna twitched again and ended up hitting the metal bars of the railing of the balcony
"Ow fuck"
"You good Youngblood"
"Yeah, my stimming or tics are either anxiety induced, sensory induced, or it may come from ADHD if I have and I have sensory overloads, I used to get them in school a lot I just never realized it" and Billie just had a puzzled look on his face and spoke
"We should get that checked out when we get back to Oakland"
"Yeah" and Billie was thinking about what would help her stimming or tics that ended with her saying 'ow' and spoke
"Does it help if someone hugs you or holds you, so you don't hurt yourself when you stim or tic"
"Yeah, but I usually end up hitting whoever is hugging or holding me, because of it" and Billie pulled Anna into his arms and she was basically sitting in his lap, not facing him
"Billie, I don't want to hit you"
"It's fine Youngblood, just breathe, in and out" and Anna leaned her head back onto Billie's shoulder and just closed her eyes and breathed, surprisingly her stimming or tics calmed down and almost completely stopped at that moment and he looked down at her and spoke
"Well I am glad to be your anxiety, sensory overload, and possibly ADHD safety net, Youngblood" he said smiling, just then Adrienne came out onto the balcony, with a cup of coffee and spoke
"I'm gonna die of too much cuteness, why are you two so damn cute" she said smiling and both Anna and Billie shrugged their shoulders and Billie spoke
"Figured out how to stop Youngblood's harmful tics or stimming"
"Oh cool, how" Adrienne asked taking a drink of her coffee and Anna spoke
"Someone just has to hug or kind of hold me, so my arms can't move and I don't stim or tic and hurt myself"
"Well it is for sure a very cute solution" Adrienne said smiling
"You are so small, cute, and huggable, Youngblood" Billie said hugging Anna a little tighter and Anna just laughed a little, smiling, and spoke
"I don't know, why are you so short, small, and cute"
"Good genes" Billie said smiling
"C'mon adorable people, let's get going" Adrienne said walking back inside, so they got ready, got their stuff together, and checked out and started the five hour drive to Milwaukee and Anna just sat, looking out the window, with earbuds in her ears listening to music, Billie could tell that Anna had anxiety about going to Milwaukee, she always did and she spoke
"Wake me up when we get to Madison, I know a really cool, old school, famous diner there" and Anna fell asleep and Billie and Adrienne just talked, mainly about Anna's twitching. So about two hours later they rolled into Madison and Billie woke Anna up and she gave then directions to the diner, they put masks on and went in and Billie spoke
"Damn, this is fucking cool" and Anna's socially anxiety kicked in and her hand started twitching, Billie noticed, so he held her hand and she looked at him and he just smiled at her through his mask and spoke
"Just breathe Youngblood" so they went and grabbed a booth in the back and got coffee and something to eat, then got back on the road and the closer they got to Milwaukee, the more Anna was twitching or stimming, she ended up hitting the car window, hard, with the back of her hand
"Fuck" and Billie turned around and looked at her
"You good Youngblood" he said with a sympathetic smile
"Yeah" then Anna twitched and slapped her thigh really hard
"Ow fuck" and Billie looked at Adrienne and spoke
"80, pull over" so Adrienne pulled over and Billie got in the backseat by Anna, so basically Billie was leaning up against the car door and the seat with his legs stretched out across the backseat and Billie pulled her into his arms, wary of her bruise, so Anna was leaning up against him and her legs stretched out across his legs, basically in his lap, and Billie just hummed 'Ordinary World' and kept his arms wrapped around her, then Billie just talked to her to distract her mind from her twitching and of course they both ended up laughing their asses off, so about another two hours later, they rolled into Milwaukee at about 10:30am and headed over to Scott's house, and figured out the plan for the protest, what they were going to bring and stuff like that, so they relaxed a little bit before getting ready, so they left at about noon, headed into Downtown Milwaukee and found a protest and Adrienne dropped them off, so Billie and Anna marched along with people, chanting 'Black Lives Matter', 'No Justice, No Peace', and 'I Can't Breathe' and of course Billie and Anna had masks on, Billie could see the look of determination on Anna's face and she spoke
"Y'know what if we make the news, fuck it" and she made her way to the front of the march or protest where there was someone with a megaphone leading the marching and she spoke
"Hey, think I could say something"
"Of course" the dude leading the march said to her as he handed her the megaphone, so Anna took the megaphone and climbed up on a parked car on the side of the street, and just then, people pulled out their phones to record her, including Billie, and she took her mask off, and spoke
"I'm not here for the publicity, believe me and I know many of you might know who I am, I'm here to help fight, fight for equality, I grew up on the North side of Milwaukee, I witnessed police brutality almost every day, it has to stop, Wisconsin is one of the most segregated states and I hate that, this is my hometown, my friends live here, and watching it be plagued with so much brutality is heartbreaking, watching another mother cry on the even news because she lost a child at the hands of the police, the ones who are supposed to protect us, but instead kill and hide behind the badge, it has to end, I just came from the protests in Minneapolis, I was arrested and I don't care if I'm arrested today, I will help fight along side people for change, until that change I say 'No Justice, No Peace', 'Black Lives Matter', and 'I Can't Breathe' and thank you for letting me speak, it means a lot" and she was in tears and people were cheering and clapping as she hopped down off the car, put her mask back on, and handed the dude back his megaphone and he put a hand on Anna's shoulder and spoke
"See this here, this is the revolution, your generation is the revolution, that will help change the world, thank you so much for those words, you right now are family to us, everyone here at this protest and they will have your back no matter what, because we are the kind of people that support each other and fight together" and Anna had tears rolling down her face and went over by Billie, who hugged her and when she looked up at him, he was in tears and spoke
"I am so proud of you Youngblood" he said smiling, just then the cops showed up, both Milwaukee cops and Tosa cops and they tear gassed the place and one of the protesters threw it back at the cops, before it could hurt anyone else, just then Anna saw some of the Tosa cops that her grandma used to be in Cahoots with and she spoke
"Billie, I'm at least 95% sure that I'm about to get arrested" just then cops started arresting people left and right, so her and Billie started running
"Kushner, get your ass back here you little punk, police don't move" and the next thing Anna knew, she was being slammed up against a building, with her hands behind her back and then thrown to the ground, then the cop punched her in the face and handed her over to a Milwaukee police officer and Billie was recording the whole thing
"She didn't do anything wrong, you're violating her right to assemble and protest peacefully" and the Tosa cop who roughed Anna up spoke
"Sir put the phone away, now"
"No, I can legally record you" and then the cop punched Billie and handcuffed him
"You're using excessive force on us and we didn't even do anything illegal, this is illegal" so the Tosa cop handed Billie off to the same Milwaukee cop, who put Anna and Billie in a squad car and Billie spoke
"I'm so suing their asses" and Anna spoke
"See exactly why I don't like cops, especially Tosa cops"
"Fucking pigs" Billie hissed, so they were taken down to the Milwaukee Police Department, were processed, then Billie called Adrienne and she came and bailed them out and they headed back to Scott's and when Anna took off her mask, it revealed a busted lip and bloody nose, plus she already had a back eye forming, so did Billie and when Billie saw how bad that cop roughed Anna up, both him and Adrienne were fucking pissed
"I'm gonna have that fucking pigs badge" so Adrienne cleaned up Anna's nose and lip and her and Billie both iced their eyes, then Billie showed Adrienne the video of Anna speaking at the protest, so they just relaxed and when Billie turned on the TV, the news was on, and boom it was the video of Anna on top of the car speaking at the protest, just then Anna's phone rang, it was Joe
"Dude, you never told me you were in town and you're on the news" Joe said shocked
"I know, me and Billie also got roughed up by a Tosa cop, we both have black eyes, I have a messed up nose and busted lip"
"Oh dang, I'll let you go so you can relax, nice talking to you"
"You too man, bye" and Joe hung up, then her phone rang again, it was Celia
"Hi dork and yes I'm in town, I forgot to tell you and yes, I know I'm on the news" and just as she said that, another video played on the news of Anna and Billie getting roughed up and arrested
"Well, I love you loser, I miss you, and I hope you feel better, I saw the video of that cop hurting you"
"I miss you too dork, you can come over and spend the night with me if you want, since I'm probably leaving tomorrow"
"Okay, I'll be over in a little bit, bye loser"
"Bye dork" and Anna hung up and Anna didn't realize she was smiling until Billie and Adrienne were looking at her
"What" and Adrienne spoke
"Nothing, you guys are just cute"
"You and Billie are cuter" and Billie just laughed a little, so a little bit later, Celia showed up and she was wearing a crop top and some tight jean shorts and Anna's faces immediately went red when she saw her and Celia wrapped her arms around Anna's neck and Anna put her hands on Celia's hips and Celia spoke
"You like what you see" Celia said with a smirk
"O-Of course I do, i-it's you" Anna said, with still a red face
"Aww is someone flustered" and Anna blushed a deeper red and buried her face in the crook of Celia's neck
"You're killing me" and Celia laughed a little
"Good, now let me see those battle scars" and Anna showed Celia her black eye, her busted lip, and the bruise on her side and Celia spoke
"Does that mean I can't kiss you anymore"
"You can, it just hurts a little bit"
"Y'know those scars make you look tough and hot" Celia said running a hand through Anna's hair
"Mmh really" Anna said before kissing Celia
"Uh huh, now let's go ice that eye and that side of yours"
"Lemme guess, icing my side is just an excuse to see me shirtless"
"Yes, and I want to make sure that my loser is okay" Celia said smiling, so they went back inside and Anna took her shirt off, sat in Celia's lap, on the couch, and Celia held an ice pack on Anna's side, while Anna held an ice pack on her eye, and Anna still had a slight blush on her face and Celia was running her hand through Anna's hair and Anna spoke
"You're gonna make me sleepy" and Celia spoke
"Good, your body needs rest to heal, plus I bet your insomniac ass needs it anyway" and Anna just laughed a little and Celia ran her hand through Anna's hair until she fell asleep, eventually Celia fell asleep, Billie passed out not shortly after, and Adrienne took the melted ice packs from Celia and Anna's hands and covered them up with a blanket, then took the melted ice pack from Billie's hand, covered him up, then placed a small kiss on his forehead, then she went to bed herself. The next morning Anna woke up snuggled in Celia's arms and it looked like she was the first one awake, she was gonna change that, so she started kissing at Celia's jawline and Celia woke up
"Mmh yes loser, what do you want" Celia said with her eyes still closed
"For you to wake up" Anna said shifting in Celia's lap so she was now facing her and Celia opened her eyes and spoke
"I can manage that" she said kissing Anna's nose and in response Anna legit giggled
"Fucking cutie" Celia said as Anna got up, so Anna went and made some coffee and not shortly after Celia hugged Anna from behind
"Let's see how your battle scars are" she said turning Anna around to face her and Celia looked at her eye
"Your eye looks badass" and Anna just smiled at her, then Celia kissed her and spoke
"Your lips are still kissable, so that's good" then Celia looked at her side and Anna pulled her pants down a little so Celia could see her entire bruise
"Looks like a painful rainbow" Celia said laughing a little
"Feels like it too"
"No more getting roughed up" Celia said in a joking, serious tone
"Hey, I can't promise anything" Anna said raising her hands in defense, laughing a little, just then Adrienne walked in
"Morning adorable people" she said smiling
"Billie still passed out" Anna asked, taking a drink from her coffee
"Yeah, how you feeling Youngblood"
"A little sore, but I'm good, gotta a badass black eye through" and Adrienne just laughed a little, Anna grabbed her coffee and smokes and went and sat out on the porch, on the steps, pulled out a smoke, lit it, then took a drag and a few minutes later she heard someone come out onto the porch behind her
"Morning Youngblood" Billie said ruffling Anna's hair, then sitting down on the steps, a cup of coffee in hand and smiled at her, then spoke
"So whatcha wanna do today, my little protester" and Anna laid back on the porch and spoke
"Take it easy today"
"Sounds good, how you feeling"
"A little sore"
"You gotta badass black eye though" Billie said laughing a little
"Yeah, the bruise on my side is a painful rainbow" Anna side laughing a little, so eventually Celia and Adrienne cane outside by then and they just took it easy, chilling outside, talking about whatever, and once it got later, Anna cooked some dinner, watched the sunrise, then once it got dark out they had a bon fire, Anna being the little pyro she is, all together a pretty chill day and eventually they dropped Celia off at house and Anna said 'bye' to her
"See ya dork, love you"
"Bye loser, love you too" and Celia pulled her into a kiss, a quiet passionate one, that caught Anna off guard, a kiss Anna quickly melted into, and when they let go, Celia spoke
"Have a safe trip loser and call me" and Anna was still a bit shocked by that, she found herself mindlessly nodding and Celia walked away, Anna just stood there love struck and just for shits and giggles, Billie honked the horn to scare Anna and it worked
"Shit, what the fuck" she said jumping in the air, scared, and she landed on the ground
"Really Billie" and him and Adrienne were just laughed, so they headed back to Scott's, got their stuff together, ready for when they were gonna leave, then went for a night drive, through Downtown, with music of course and Anna was getting so nostalgic, she was almost in tears, it was always hard for her when she was in her hometown, all the memories and emotions, but she had to learn to let go, even if she didn't want to, the one thing she knew was that she had two homes, one in California and one in Wisconsin, so after about an hour of driving around and Anna getting a nostalgia bomb, they headed back to Scott's, just relaxed and eventually fell asleep and about three in the morning Billie woke up, then went over by Anna to wake her up
"Youngblood, wake up" he whispered and she woke up
"What's up Billie" and he was like a little kid almost
"Football field" and a smile immediately appeared on Anna's face and she got up and Billie grabbed a blanket and Anna's polaroid and they walked to the football field and laid on the blanket, star gazing, and talking
"Y'know when we're back in California and it's safe and stuff is opened back up, I think I wanna get more piercings" Anna said and Billie spoke
"That sounds cool Youngblood, so where were you thinking"
"My tongue and my lip"
"Nice, so are you happy that you got to protest" Billie said smiling
"Of fucking course and I am honestly mot surprised that we made the news" and Billie just laughed a little
"Yeah" and Anna sighed
"What's on your mind Youngblood" Billie said looking at Anna
"Just think how I used to be so alone before I discover your music, let alone meet you guys, your music was my comfort, family, release, and sleep aid, I used to be so unhappy before I discovered you guys, I didn't know how to be happy, but you and your music put a smile on my face, I used to feel touch starved before I met you guys, now I get physical affection everyday", and Anna laughed a little, "hell when I was having really low shitty days, I would yearn for a hug from you because I thought it would make everything better and me feel better and y'know what I was right, you, Adrienne, Mike, and Tre have taught me how to be happy, be a kid, and gave me a family, and I couldn't be more fucking grateful" and Billie pulled her into his arms and spoke
"Aww Youngblood, you're gonna make me cry", he said smiling, "also how was someone so cute and huggable like you touch starved" and Anna shrugged her shoulders, so they star gazed and then eventually went up on the bleachers to watch the sunrise and Billie went a good number of rows of benches down, to get a good polaroid picture of Anna watching the sunrise, so as usual, they went and got coffee, then walked around the park, watching the rest of the sunrise, and they just so happened to see a familiar face, Sofia, she ran over to Anna and hugged her
"Hey you kick ass kid, how you doin" and Sofia spoke
"Good, what happened to your face" and her mom spoke
"Hi you two, badass black eyes" and Billie smiled and waved at her and Anna stood up and spoke
"We got roughed up by a Tosa cop, at a protest Downtown and I got this big bruise from a Minnesota cop at the protests in Minneapolis" she said showing Sofia and her mom, the huge bruise on her side
"Wow, that looks like it hurts" Sofia said, looking at Anna's bruise
"Yeah, it's a painful rainbow" Anna said laughing a little
"So what are you guys doing in town" Sofia's mom asked and Billie spoke
"Well, this one want to protest like no other in Minneapolis, so me, my wife, and Youngblood took a little road trip to Minnesota, then she wanted to protest in her hometown, so yeah"
"Damn kid, got roughed up by the cops twice and arrested twice" and Anna spoke
"Yeah, so I'm guessing you guys have been just jamming out to No Fun Mondays during the whole covid thing"
"Yeah, we've been staying home the entire time, taking walks, listening to some good tunes" Sofia's mom said and Anna crouched down to Sofia's height and spoke
"So what's your favorite No Fun Monday song"
"Manic Monday" Sofia said in a cheery tone and Anna gave her a high five
"Nice choice, we should get going, but before we go, can I get a picture with your kick ass kid" Anna said looking at Sofia's mom
"Of course" and Anna handed Sofia's mom her polaroid, so Anna got Sofia to hop on her back, as if she was going to give her a piggy back ride, Billie was standing next to them, smiling, and he had bunny ears behind Anna's head, so Sofia's mom took the polaroid, then took a quick picture on her phone, then Billie and Anna said 'bye' to Sofia and her mom, then headed back to Scott's and on the walk back, Anna smiled at the polaroid, so once they got back to Scott's they got ready to leave, then packed their stuff in the back of the car and started their trip back to California and two of the main radio stations Anna listened to when she was growing up and whenever she was in town always played good music and 'Aim I Evil' by Metallica was playing and Anna immediately thought of Dan, so she leaned her head against the window, closed her eyes, and smiled, then 'Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart' by Chris Cornell played next and Anna started to tear up, she had a smile on her face, and was mouthing the words, then 'Home Sweet Home' by Motley Crue was playing, it was both an appropriate song at the moment, but also caught Anna off guard, since that was Dan's favorite Motley Crue song, him and Anna's mom would dance to it a lot, those three songs that just played in a row were some of Dan's favorites and Billie spoke
"I think Dan's watching over you Youngblood" and Anna, teary eyed, mouth a small 'yeah' with a smile on her face, the next song was 'Ho Hey' by The Lumineers, one of Anna's favorite when she was younger, both her and her dad loved it, the last thing she remembered was gazing out the window, listening to the nostalgic tune, before falling asleep.
