Ch.74 St. Jimmy

So Anna was back to normal and playing shows again and it was nearing the end of the tour and Anna couldn't really process it, and Billie surprised Anna and Scott by taking them to New York,along with everyone else of course,and to stay there for a while,since of course Billie had a house in New York and Anna loved it,Billie thought she would so they were playing a show tonight and Anna still didn't know where,and Anna,Scott,and Billie spent the day skating around the city and it was fricking awesome,well in parking garadges and Billie showed Anna and Scott around the city,Anna literally absolutely loved it, everything about it,and they had an awesome time, so they practiced for a while,chilled and headed over to the venue and when they pulled up and Anna saw where they were playing,she almost lost it
"Holy shit we're playing at the fucking St.James Theater"
"Yep"so they headed in, unpacked,set up,soundcheck, stuff like that and Anna went up in the rafters as usual and Billie found her and she had a gaint smile on her face, which made Billie smile
"Sup Youngblood"
"How the hell am I in the same place that you played St.Jimmy and Broadway Idiot was put on"
"Yeah"
''Billie I was sitting on a fricking kindergarden rug when you were St.Jimmy"she said laughing and Billie started laughing

"Yeah,I was 4"
"Well then we'll just have to do something,like I don't know play American Idiot the 'deluxe' version all the way through and maybe me be St.Jimmy again,maybe you wear your Halloween costume of me from the American Idiot era, and put on our own little Broadway Idiot"and Anna gave him a hug
"That sounds fucking amazing"so they got down and Anna went and got changed and came back out by Billie and he spoke
"Sup mini Jesus of Suburbia"and Anna flashed a St.Jimmy pose,and Billie went and grabbed something and came back,holding a black electric guitar with a red sunburst and handed it to Anna

"Good choice"so they chilled for a little bit and the next thing they knew,they were walking across the stage and Billie spoke
"Its good to be back in the city never sleeps"and the crowd cheered
"Well this is Youngblood's first time in New York and its gonna be one hell of a time"so then they jumped into American Idiot,then they play Jesus of Suburbia and Anna sang most of it,hence her costume, then played Holiday and Anna started it off with
"Do you wanna start a fucking war" then Boulevard of Broken Dreams and they had the whole crowd singing and the pure energy was fucking amazing,it made Anna get a little choked up,so then they played Are We the Waiting and after it,Billie went backstage and Mike and Tre were still keeping the beat of Are We the Waiting and Anna was well
"My name is Jesus of Suburbia and my friend St.Jimmy will be joining us in a minute,given me my daily fix"so Anna kept the crowd busy while Billie got ready,so like 5 minutes later Anna,Mike,and Tre jumped into St.Jimmy
"St.Jimmy coming down across the alleyway,up on the boulevard,like a zip gun on parade,light of a silhouette,he's insubordinate,coming at you on the count of one,two"and Tre counted off
"1,2,3,4"and Billie ran back out on stage and sang St.Jimmy and him and Anna just owned the fucking stage and of course the song ended with
"And don't you fucking wear it out"and then they jumped into Give Me Novacaine,which Anna sang,mainly and during the whole song her eyes were glossy with tears and blurred vision,and she sang with so much heart and passion,and Billie was just standing there,in his St.Jimmy character,watching Anna,and was blown away,he was actually worried about her because he saw her glossy eyes and then there were tears rolling down her face,but she wasn't getting choked up all and at the line
"Tell me Jimmy I won't feel a thing"she turned and faced Billie and dropped to her knees and had her hands folded,like she was begging, and said the line and Billie was just watching in astonishment,both worried that she was gonna have a breakdown,and blown away,so Anna got back up and finsished the song and blinked and wiped her tears away and and Anna cynically laughed and spoke
"Please,Jimmy give me novacaine,the aching sensation in my brain,driving me insane,like a dagger in my heart,give me novacaine"and the guys were taken back by this,because damn this kid could act,once they realized that she was acting and not on the verge of a breakdown and Billie walked over by Anna,still in his St.Jimmy character and raised his hand to her head in the shape of a gun and Anna spoke
"Thank you, Jimmy"and she had a psychotic smile on her face and he shot and Anna fell to her knees,again and she got back up,on the last beat of the song and then they jumped into She's A Rebel and before they did Anna spoke
"This song reminds my insane,crazy,hyperactive ass about a very very special girl near and dear to us,80"and they played the song and Anna and Billie both sang this time, so then after that they played Extordinary Girl and this time Billie sang,mainly,because the way he looked at it now was kinda about Anna almost,so he sang it,then they played Letterbomb and Billie said the lines
"Nobody likes you, everyone left you,they're all out without you having fun"as if St.Jimmy was mocking Jesus of Suburbia otherwise,Anna sang,mainly and she just let fucking loose on this and during the scream in the song,she let out a gut wrenching scream,not high pitched or super low,something like the one in the song,but she just sang with pure rage,anger,and emotion,so then they played Wake Me Up When September Ends and Billie and Anna sang it and they both got choked up, and composed themselves at the end of the song,then they played Homcoming and Anna sang for the most part during the line
"Jimmy died today,he blew his brains out into the bay"and Billie raised his hand to his head in the shape of a gun and shot and fell to the ground and stayed down for the rest of the song and of course Tre sang, Rock and Roll Girlfriend,so when the song was over Billie got back up and then they played Whatsername and before they did Anna spoke
"My guitar's name is Whatsername,but that's just useless knowledge, a figment of my imagination"and they jumped into the song and Billie sang it,mainly this time and then they played Too Much Too Soon and both Anna and Billie sang it, and Billie sang it for the most part and in character was singing at Anna,as if St.Jimmy was making fun of or mocking Jesus of Suburbia or singing about the life of Whatsername,but this time about Jesus,since its Anna this time,but Anna sang the part
"So god bless your fucking past and to hell with your glory"as if Jesus was bringing down a supposed 'over glorified' St.Jimmy and Billie, in his St.Jimmy character was just standing there with an devilish smirk on his face and
"Fairwell I hope you rest in pieces"and Anna practically yelled the 'Fuck you' that followed in the song at Billie as if Jesus was finally unleashing their anger at St.Jimmy,then they played Shoplifter and Anna sang it,and Billie was standing there acting greedy and conniving in his St.Jimmy character,during the song,then they played Governator and Mike sang it and Billie was acting as if St.Jimmy was buddy buddy with Mike,with his arm around him,singing some parts with him,mocking that you can't get rid of St.Jimmy,with that same smirk on his face,when they were done Billie,Mike,Tre,and Anna all took a bow and were smiling,so Mike and Tre walked off stage and Anna grabbed 'Joey' and Billie grabbed his aucostic and they closed out the show with When It's Time and when they were done and looked out in the crowd,they saw people with tears running down their face,smiling and just having an amazing time,and they got cheers back and Anna spoke
"Give it up for Billie,Mike,and Tre,we love you and goodight" and they walked off stage and Adrienne,Joan,Billie,Mike,and Tre all had their mouth dropped and Billie spoke
"I can't even process what just happened,how the hell,what, were you on the verge of a breakdown"
"No,just put myself in my numb mindset for the song"and all of them looked even more astonished at her
"How the fuck are you that good at acting,I got nothing,that was amazing,what, Adrienne tell me you recorded that"
"Every second"
"Good because I can't even fathom how fucking awesome and real that was"and Billie gave Anna a hug
"Damn, I'm proud of you Youngblood,that was mind blowing"
"Thanks,but I have to say I love the mindset of American Idiot,cynical,sad,crazy,kick ass,just all togehter awesome and do that was so much fun"
"Good"he said smiling and Adrienne spoke
"Yougblood,I got nothing,that was amazing"she said giving Anna a hug

"Yep"so they chilled for a little bit and then packed up and headed out,so they got back to where they were staying and once they unpacked and relaxed for a little bit,and obviously changing out of St.Jimmy adn Jesus of Suburbia characters,Billie and Anna left,and Billie wanted to show Anna the city at night because he knew that she would love it,so they drove around with some good music and Billie took them to a really good coffee shop,and so they drove around some more and Anna was having an awesome time,the city was so beautiful at ninght,she was in awe,and had a smile on her face,which of course made Billie smile,so they did that for a while and Anna may have or may not have passed,but Billie just kept driving around for a little bit,because he loved the city at night,so then eventually they headed back,very kick ass day indeed. So apparently they had another show tomorrow and Billie was gonna surprise Anna with where it was again and he spent the day taking Anna to all of his favorite places and she loved all of them, so after Billie showed her around some more they went and practiced and Billie told Anna that she could pick any songs that she wanted to except that they couldn't be Green Day songs, except Thank You was an exception, so this is what she came up with

And the guys were just like 'wow' to the list of songs she came up with,they knew she has tast, but damn good taste, so they practiced it a few times through and then chilled for a little bit,and Anna was chilling on the couch,and Billie saw her drawing different colored lines on her wrist,so he went and sat down next to her and spoke

"The Line Project"and Billie just looked at her confused
"What's that"and Anna went on her phone and showed Billie a picture and Anna spoke
"From December 15-20, you draw these lines on you wrist to represent something,like red means self-harm, orange means anxiety, yellow means eating disorder,green means bullied,teal means anxiety/panic attakcs,blue means depression,purple means LGBTQ+,gray means lost someone to suicide,and black means considered suicide"and Billie saw that she had red,orange,yellow,teal,blue,purple,and black lines on her wrist and he gave her a hug
"Well you got through all of that Youngblood and I'm proud of you and glad you're here"he said smiling, and grabbed some of Anna's markers and drew lines on his wrist,and after he was done,he showed her,he had orange,teal,purple,and gray and Anna gave him a hug
"How are you so down to earth and sweet"she said smiling
"I don't know Youngblood,how are you"and she just shrugged her shoulders and she had a smile on her face,which made Billie smile,so then packed up and headed out,and Anna still didn't know where they were playing,so while they were heading over there Billie spoke
"Youngblood,you're gonna shit a brick when you see where we're playing" so they finally arrived and Anna saw a huge arena and she kinda was confused,what's so special about this place and she spoke
"What is that place"
"Youngblood,that's Madison Square Garden"
"Holy fuck,really"
"Yeah"he said laughing a little,and he remembered that she has never been to New York before and probably has never seen pictures of it,so they unpakced,set up,soundcheck,the usual, and the stage was huge,so Anna was skating around on it and Billie was recording it and smiling and he was thinking about how the tour is over in a couple weeks and that just hit him,this kick ass tour has went by fast and it has been awesome,and he immediately started brain storming ideas of what to do for the last show,what kick ass thing could he plan to close out the most kick ass,amazing tour ever,then it hit him,he had the perfect idea,so Anna skateboarded some more and then they just chilled and the next thing they knew was they were walking out on stage and Anna saw the amount of people and her mouth dropped and Billie spoke
"Hey remember us"and Anna saw a good amount of the crowd laugh
"Sorry,but no nudity tonight"Billie said laughing a little,so they jumped into Blitzkireg Bop and they played through that list and kicked some major fucking ass,the show could not get anymore punk rock,it was amazing,like Anna left herself surprised with how awesome the show was,they were in the middle of Jump and she literally stopped playing and looked out in the crowd of all the singing fans and she smiled and didn't see one seat without someone in it and she thought 'Holy fucking shit,I'm playing Madison Square Garden with my idols' and she started tearing up and had tears of joy in her eyes and she just stood there,looking at the crowd and mouthed a 'wow' she was amazed, how the fuck did she even get to this point,how is this happening,just how,she was so happy and all smiles and Billie looked over and saw Anna just standing there with tears rolling down her face,with a huge smile on her face and looking out at the crowd,so he grabbed the mic and went over by her and wrapped his arm around her and she looked up at him and he smiled and he spoke
"What's up Youngblood"and he handed her the mic and she spoke
"I'm playing Madison Square Garden with my all time favorite people,how I got to this point I don't even know,how is this happening,I just can't believe it,Billie Joe Armstrong,Mike Dirnt,Tre Cool, you amazing people,how much you guys care about and support me,make sure that I always have a smile on my face,lets see two years ago I would have been dreading the holidays,dealling with family bullshit and just miserable, now I have you guys and Adrienne and Joan and I'm teh happiest person in the world,I can't even believe I'm standing here,I love you guys so much"and she was crying and Billie had tears of joy in his eyes
"Awww,Youngblood"and he gave her a hug and Mike and Tre came over and gave her hugs and Billie spoke
"We love you too, Youngblood and are honored to know an amazing person like you"and apparently this was all being broadcasted and stuff,so they played the show through and after Rockaway Beach, and Billie looked at Anna and spoke
"Youngblood,I think Joey Ramone would be proud"and Anna had a shocked look on her face that he said that and she ran over and gave him a hug and then spoke
"Yeah well he would be proud of you creating the next punk generation"she said smiling and that made Billie smile,so once they closed out with Thank You, when the crowd cheered,Anna swears that, that crowd was the loudest crowd out of all the shows they've played and Anna,Billie,Mike,and Tre were all smiling because it was an amazing show,so before they walked back stage, Anna took the advantage and jumped in the pit and they crowd surfed her to the back and back to the stage and Billie was standing there smiling,laughing and she went by him and he gave her a hug
"Have fun,Youngblood"he said,smiling,as they walked off stage
"Yep"she said smiling,so they relaxed for a little bit,then headed out,and went back to where they were staying and relaxed for the rest of the night and eventually everyone passed out. And the next moring the guys had a huge surprise for Anna and Billie was the first one up and he went and woke up Anna
"Billie what the hell its like 5am"and she just covered her head with the blankets
"Come on Youngblood,we got places to be"he said smiling and he pulled up the blankets a little bit to reveal Anna's face and he was just a ball of smiles and Anna spoke
"You're lucky you're so cute"and she got up,and Billie spoke
"Wow, me being cute got you outta bed"and she nodded
"And the given of coffee"she said smiling,sleepily and wrapped an arm around Billie and they walked into the kitchen and Anna sat down at the island and Billie made coffee and handed her a cup and Anna was thinking back of memories of when her and Billie would sit on the counter at Billie's house and drink coffee in the morning and no one else was up and it was really peaceful,and those memories made her smile and Billie was leaning against the counter looking at her
"Hmh Youngblood"and as a response Anna hopped up on the counter and patted a spot next to her and Billie got the message and hopped up next to her and she spoke
"Just remembering those times when you first met me and we would sit on the counter and drink coffee and enjoy the peace when no one else was awake"she said smiling
"Yeah those are good times"Billie said smiling and Anna leaned against Billie and smiled
"I don't know why but you always,just being around make me happy and you make everything better"and Billie wrapped his arm around her
"I feel the same way about you Youngblood"he said smiling
"Love ya Billo"
"Love you too Youngblood" and they just chilled and drank their coffee and woke up and Anna went out on the balconey and watched the sunrise with Billie and the sunrise in New York was fucking beautiful,so a little bit later Mike,Tre,and Adrienne woke up and had coffee and stuff and Anna spoke
"So what places do we have to be at,that is worth you waking me up at 5am"
"You'll see,Youngblood,but in the meantime wanna jam"
"Sure"so it was just a mini jam session with like five songs

So they practiced that a few times over,then everyone got ready and they started packing up and then Anna knew Billie had something up,so they left and headed somewhere,where Anna had no idea,and they rolled up to a studio and Anna saw the sign and it said 'Good Morning America' and Anna's face was pricless
"Fucking Good Morning America,what the hell"she said sounding excited,so they got out headed in and a crew unloaded and set up their stuff for them and the guys were told some stuff by people and Anna was just like how the hell is this happening and so then they chilled in the green room and Billie spoke
"Youngblood you get to do your first TV performance and interview,you excited"
"Yeah and a little nervous"
"That's completely normal,just picture that you're jamming with just us or that you're in front of a crowd at the Rave"
"Okay"so then someone came in adn told them that it was time for them to go on and they walked out on the set and grabbed their instruments,well Tre went and on of the hosts spoke
"Now here to perform,Green Day, with a new album out called Unconsious Perception''and he turned to them
"Its good to have you guys back"and Billie spoke
"Nice to be back and its Anna's first TV performance"
''Cool,well we'll let you guys play"and they jumped into Bang Bang,which Anna and Billie sang like they wanted to start a fucking riot or something,then they played St.Insomnia and it was Jesus of Suburbia and St.Jimmy vibes all around,and Holiday,singing it like they wanted to take over the world or something,then Youngblood and both Anna and Billie were smiling and Billie had his arm around Anna,as usual,singing with her,then they played Thank You and were done and Billie gave Anna a hug and then one of the hosts spoke
"Wow that was awesome"and so they guys and Anna walked over and sat down near the hosts and they spoke
"So how have you guys liked the tour so far"and Billie spoke
"Its been,personally,my favorite tour,because it's been our first tour with Anna and its just been awesome,even though that's the understandment of the year"
"So Anna, how have you liked tour with your idols"
''Um it's been the best experience of my life,I love it and Billie surprised me by us showing up here,because he woke me up at 5am for something and apparetly this was it,but worth it"
"Well there are different variations of the story of how you met the guys,so how did the idea of playing with them happen"and Billie spoke
"Well back in Oakland,one night I showed Anna the basics of guitar and she caught on so fast and I was like 'wow' so then after she killed it on two of my guitars I gave her, her own,so anyway the next day I called up Mike and Tre and they came over and we jammed together and they were blown away and we really liked her playing style plus at the time it was something to keep her mind off of things,so that's how that happened"
"Interesting,so since Billie,you have the nickname 'Youngblood' for Anna,there's talk that Anna has one for you,is that true"and Billie was laughing a little bit and spoke
"Yeah,mine's Billo"he said smiling
"And apparently how cute I am to her, got her outta bed this morning"he said smiling,to mess with her and Anna just sat there,trying to hide her blush and the host spoke
''Well it was good to have you guys back,awesome album"
'Thanks"and Anna and the guys walked off set and over by Adrienne and she has trying not to laugh and she spoke
"Billie,you embarassed Anna on national television"she said laughing
"Well it is true and I can't help that she thinks I'm adorable"so they left and headed back to where they were staying and relaxed for a while and Billie had the 'I have something planned' look on his face and Anna spoke
"Billie I know you have something planned,what is it"
"Maybe um a I don't but performing on Jimmy Kimmel tonight"he said smiling and Anna's face was priceless

"Yeah,we get to play a song or two,so what song should we play"

"Sounds good,so what ya wanna do until then"
"I don't know,what is there to do in New York when its cold out"and Billie had a smirk on his face and he spoke
"Can you ice skate"
"Yeah,why"
"Well we could go ice skating in Rockefeller Center"
"Really"Anna said smiling
"Yeah,it'll be fun"so her,Billie, Mike,Tre,and Adrienne all bundled up and headed out and when they got there,Anna that iit was really cool,so they went over,got some skates and then there goes Tre being Tre,skating,being silly, Mike just stayed on the sidelines and drank some coffee, and Anna went out on the ice and fell and started laughing and spoke
"Shit,I haven't ice skated in like almost 3 years"and she got back up and Billie grabbed her hand
"Ya good,Youngblood"he said laughing a little
"Yeah"so Anna and Billie skated around and then Tre was just speeding and amusing everyone and Adrienne skated up and grabbed Anna's other hand and the three skated together and this was reminding Anna of the very very few memories that her,her mom, and dad spent as a family,without crap starting,and those were only when she was like 3 or 4 and she literally thought 'fuck that' and was smiling and she spoke
"I fricking love you guys"and both Billie and Adrienne spoke
"Love you too,Youngblood"they both said at the same time and Anna was smiling so much,at the fact that she actually has a family now and that thought always made her smile and Billie spoke
"What's got ya smiling,Youngblood"
"You guys and actually having a family" and that comment made both Billie and Adrienne smile and Adrienne spoke
"Of course,Youngblood"so they skated around some more and had fun and Billie,Tre,and Anna all raced and of course Tre won and so they chilled and got hot cocoa and Anna forgot a hat
"Shit,I forgot my hat"and Billie put his hat on her
"There ya go,Youngblood"he said smiling
"Thanks" so they skated a little bit more and had fun and they left and headed back to where they were staying and relaxed a little bit,so they practiced St.Insomnia and Thank You a few times and chilled and just did whatever and they still had a lot of time before they had to leave and Billie spoke
"So Youngblood, we still gotta lot of time left,what should we do"
"I don't know what can we do"
"Wanna go see the Empire State Building,it's really cool"
"Sounds fun"so they left and took the subway and people recognized them and when they walked on the train and people starting saying lyrics to songs and Billie was laughing a little,so they talked to fans the whole ride there,took pictures,and gave hugs,so eventually they got there and they legit went in and went to the top of the Empire State Building and Anna looked over the city and was amazed
"Wow" and Billie was smiling and he pulled out his phone and took a picture of Anna looking over the city and he posted it on Instagram and the caption was 'Youngblood's the king of the world' and he spoke
"So what do ya think of New York,so far,Youngblood"
"I fucking love it"she said smiling
"I'm glad,wanna go see the Statue of Liberty"
"Sure"so they left and took the subway again and talked with some more fans and stuff,so they were on the shore front and could see the statue from there
"Wow,its different in real life"
"Yeah,and just imagine we sing about standing up for that statue and speaking out against the government,just to get a small sense of justice"
"Yeah"Anna said smiling
"Holiday,American Idiot,and Bang Bang make you wanna start a riot"and Billie laughed a little

"Yeah I know,can we walk around some more"
"Sure"so they walked around a little bit and listened to music and had a good time and listened to music and eventually headed back and relaxed for a while and then eventually everyone packed up and left and got there,headed it and boom Jimmy Kimmel is right there,so they hung out and talked with him until the show started then he headed out,so they just relaxed for a while and Anna was leaning against a wall under a Jimmy Kimmel sign and and Billie took a picture and posted it on Instagram and the caption was 'Kickin it with Youngblood on the Jimmy Kimmel show' so then he annouced
"And now our musical guest,Green Day,with a new album Unconsious Perception"and the guys and Billie walked out on the stage that was set up and grabbed their instruments and justed into St.Insomnia and played like they were playing a show at the Fiserv or something,then played Thank You and when they were done Jimmy spoke
"Wow,that was great guys,and Anna you wrote that song,Thank You,right"and Anna spoke
"Yeah,I wrote it back in Oakland around the time I met the guys and Adrienne and about how much they have done for me"
"Well,it's good to have you guys on here,and Anna this is your second TV performance and you guys performed on Good Morning America this morning,its been a busy day for you guys"and Anna spoke
"Yeah"
"So how do you like the tour,how's it been"and Billie spoke
"We love it,its been our favorite tour and its been amazing"
"Well that's good guys,nice to have you guys,thanks"and the guys and Anna walked off stage and they left and headed back to where they were staying and everyone relaxed and passed out,except for Billie and Anna and they just drove around the city all night and found a good spot and star gazed and Anna accidently passed out and Billie laughed a little
"Dang it you're cute,Youngblood"he said in a whisper and he covered her up with his coat,so he just stayed up and thinking of some ideas for what to do for the last show and how to make it awesome,for Anna and just remembering that the tour was gonna be over soon and he teared up a little,he was gonna miss this amazing tour,but he knew it wasn't the last with Anna and he spent the night thinking back to all the shows that they've played with Anna and he was smiling, at the awesome memories,so Billie woke up Anna at like 4am
"Wake up Youngblood,I'm gonna show you that best sunrise ever"
"Okay"she said sleepily,so they went and got coffee and woke up a bit,well Anna did and they headed over to Central Park and went in and walked around and sat down on a snow cleared bench and drank their coffee and Billie spoke
"See"and Anna saw the sunrise and it was glisening off the snow around them and it was beautiful
"Wow"she said in awe
"Yeah its pretty no matter what season it is and when I would get wasted and wake up in random places,this was one of them,but like you said replace the bad memories with good ones"he said smiling
