Ch.83 Powell Peralta

So a couple days later the movie hit the theaters and it was a hit, it topped charts and people loved it,so now to the present, Anna had been skating non-stop,like she lost at least a day worth of sleep with how much she was skating,and today was her first pro contest,she was excited as hell, and a little bit nervous,and so she practiced almost the whole day and Scott was out skating,and Billie was doing something with the guys,so it was just Anna and Adrienne,and she was watching Anna skate and Anna finally took a break after like three hours and Adrienne spoke
"Youngblood you're gonna do amazing today"
"Eh maybe"and Adrienne just laughed
"Maybe,you were mentored by Rodney Mullen and skate with almost all of Bones Brigade"
"Yeah, I guess you're right, and 80 can I ask you something"
"Anything"
"Does it bother you,the guys,or my dad, that I spend the most time with Billie or talk to him the most"
"Not at all, we want you to be happy,we know you love and care about us, but you and Billie are just the most alike and understand each other the best and  since we are on the outside looking in at you two, you guys have a really special bond,that puts a smile on all of our faces, so don't feel bad that you spend the most time with Billie or talk to him the most"
"Okay,and you guys know me well,that I feel bad about a lot,and thanks 80"Anna said giving her a hug
"Of course,and y'know I could not be happier to know you, for many reasons and because you're awesome, but because I know that you are such a caring person that you did that for Billie on New Years"
"Of course and I would do it for anyone of you and when Billie found me after I cut again, he cleaned up my cuts and after he did that,he put my wristband back on my wrist and gave it a kiss,then made hot cocoa and we went in my room and watched Ordinary World until I passed out and slept on the floor to make sure I was okay,so I did for him what he did for me,to make sure I was okay, I calmed him down,made hot cocoa and we watched some good movies,until he passed out and then I went through the whole house and dumped everything and I found a lot of booze in the basment and I found one of Billie's pill bottles and he doesn't know this but I cried my eyes out when I found that,so I dumped everything and hid all the bottles under the sink so you,the guys,or my dad wouldn't freak out in you saw them in the trash because Billie wanted to keep it between us then,and I stayed up all night to make sure he was okay"and Adrienne had tears rolling down her face and gave Anna a hug and Anna had tears in her eyes
"It was so hard for me to dump all of that because it brought up a lot of bad memories and they really scared me,but I could never let Billie fall,so I just sucked it up,but it hurt"and Adrienne spoke
"Youngblood,I can't express how greatful and just thank you and you are one of the strongest people I know"and Anna wiped her eyes
"No problem 80,and Billie told me to keep it between us because I think he didn't wanna hurt you,the guys, or my dad"and Adrienne had a smile on her face and spoke
"See one of the million things you and Billie have in common, you always put other people first and sometimes care about other people more then yourselves"she said smiling
"Yeah"
"And Youngblood,how the hell do you pull of what you do on a board"
"I don't even know adn I think if I skate anymore right now,I won't be able to compiete"she said laughing
"It's super quiet and no one else is home,you thinkin what I'm think Youngblood"
"Dance party"
"Yep"so they headed inside and turned on the music almost full blast and just started singing and dancing and having fun,and that went on for a good 45 minutes,until they heard someone laughing,so they froze in place and turned around and saw they guys standing there laughing, Mike was leaning against the wall laughing and Tre was very amused and Billie had his phone out recording and he was laughing,so they cut the music and Anna spoke
"Billie you better not put that on Instagram"and he spoke
"Thanks for the idea Youngblood"and Anna just had a stupid look on her face
"You're lucky I love you"and Billie put his phone away
"Of course you do,Miss Pro Skater"
"Yeah yeah"and Adrienne spoke
"She had to actually stop skating because or else she wouldn't be able skat at the contest"
"Damn Youngblood"Billie said laughing a little,so everyone just chilled for a little bit and Anna was just on her phone and looked at Billie's story and saw a video of her and Adrienne dancing and singing and heard laughing in the background and she just laughed and smiled at it and the caption on it said '80 and Youngblood are dorks',so Anna went and found Billie, chilling outside with little Billie
"Hey Youngblood"and Anna sat down on the ground next to Billie
"Hey Billo"
"So you excited for your first pro contest"
"Yeah and a little nervous"
"And that's completely normal"
"I know and where's my dad"
"I don't know,maybe with Rodney,but I assure you he will be at your contest"and Anna brought her knees up to her chest and Billiw knew something was up
"What's up Youngblood"he said scooting next to her and put his arm around her
"I'm scared that I'm gonna disappoint my dad, all he has wanted to be since he was a kid was to be pro and now I am and if I mess up I feel that I'm gonna let him down and it would kill me"
"Youngblood,your dad is so fucking proud of you,you don't even know,he is so happy because you are living the dream that he didn't get the chance to and if you mess up,it's okay, we all fuck up and your dad won't be disappointed,he will be proud because he's watching you do what you love and that he loves and plus,like you've told me,just like when you're playing a show, it all disappears when you jump on a board and it's fun and happy,so it doesn't matter if you mess up,as long as you try,have fun,and know that you're making all of us proud,even if you mess up"he said smiling and Anna gave him a hug
"Thanks Billo"
"Of course Youngblood,so what place you guning for"
"I don't know,cause I haven't seen what I'm compieting against"
"True,but you're excited right"
"Of course"Anna said smiling
"Good"he said smiling
"Just so you have fun"
"I know and if 80 wants to talk to you later,it's nothing bad,it's just cause I told her about New Years and what you did for me after I relapsed and she was so happy and in awe of you and just I think I made her day"Anna said smiling and Billie had that goofy smile on his face
"Well,Youngblood you're gonna make her day even more when you skate it up,speaing of we should probably go"so Anna grabbed her board and her,Billie,the guys,and Adrienne headed out, so they got their and Anna went and found Stacy and he checked her in and Billie,the guys,and Adrienne got tickets and grabbed seats and Anna practiced a run through of what she was gonna do once or twice and she saw a familiar face,it was her buddy Joe, from back in Wisconsin,so she went over by him
"Wait Joe"and he turned around
"Oh my god Anna,how you been"
"Well I'm pro for Powell Peralta now and you'll never guess,but I'm in Green Day too"
"Wait what,you're playing with Billie,Mike,and Tre"
"Yeah man,their my family,and what are you doing here"
"I skate for Alien Workshop"
"Oh that means we're competing against each other"
"Yeah,but that doesn't mean I still won't be your friend"
"Thanks man,hey after this you wanna meet Billie,Mike,Tre,and Billie's wife and Stacy"
"Oh my god yes"
"Cool man,I'll see you out there"
"You too,good luck Anna"so Anna went and found Stacy and it started,so over the PA they announced
"Up first skating, the first female skater to skate for Powell Peralta,Anna Kushner"and Stacy gave her a pat on the back and then she rolled out and saw Billie,the guys,Adrienne, and next to them Tony,Steve,Lance,Rodney,Mike,and Tommy up in the stands and she didn't see her dad and she thought he was with Rodney and she immediately had tears in her eyes and then went for it,she ripped it up and landed everything and that drive and emotion just pushed her and she was killing it,the cheering of the crowd drowned out and she just owned that course and when she was done with her run it was like no time had gone by and she rolled back over by Stacy and he spoke
"Anna that was amazing,that was unlike anything I've seen before"and he saw the upset look on her face
"What's wrong"
"I don't think my dad showed up"and just then the PA went off
"Up next also skating for Powell Peralta as the oldest rider,Scott Kushner"and Anna's face immediately lit up and she ran to get a better view and she watched her dad rip it up and do what he loves,skating his heart out and after his run she ran and gave Stacy a hug
"You signed my dad"
"Yeah,why not"
"Thank you thank you thank you"
"Yep"and when her dad rolled over she practically tackled him and he spoke
"Kiddo I am so fucking proud of you,you killed it"and she smiled at him
"Aren't you happy,you're pro now,your dream"
"Of course I am and I'm even happier because I get to skate along side my kid"he said smiling
"Oh and guess what,remember Joe"
"Yeah"
"He's skating too,he's pro now"
"Nice"
"Yeah"so Anna's buddy was up next,and he did pretty good,until he busted his shit doing and ollie impossible,so after more skaters, it was time to annouce the winners so all the skaters went back out onto the course and there were ten places, Anna's buddy got tenth and Scott got second and over the PA
"And in first place, for Powell Peralta, Anna Kushner"and Anna was excited,happy,and in disbelief all at the same time,and she got a trophy and Scott was so proud of her,he almost hugged her to death,so Anna went over by her buddy
"Hey man,you did good,that ollie impossible though"
"Yeah,I know,it was a risky move,but you did amazing first place,that's awesome"
"Yeah,now wanna meet Green Day and all of Bones Brigade"
"Hell yes"so Anna,her buddy, and Scott headed over by everyone and Billie immediately hugged Anna and picked her up
"I'm so proud of you Youngblood"and then set her down,and everyone congratulated her and Scott and she introduced her buddy to everyone and he was blown away
"Wow,my friend skates for Powell Peralta,knows all of Bones Brigade,and is in Green Day,wow"
"Yep,and Tony Alva,Danny Way, Christian Hosoi,and Joan Jett"
"Dang Anna"
"Yeah,so who wants to skate"and everyone laughed a little and well the skaters were up for it
"And Joe,you're coming with"Anna said rolling away
"Wait I get to skate with all of Bones Brigade,Stacy,you and your dad"Joe said skating next to her
"Yeah and Billie if he's up for it"and Billie spoke
"Of course I'm skating with you Youngblood"Billie said, walking behind them
"Then you're skating with Billie too"and Joe was just in shock
"Dang,and why does Billie call you Youngblood"
"That's his nickname for me,and me and Billie call Adrienne 80,as a nickname,just so you're not like what the heck if you hear it, and listen to the Green Day song, Youngblood once"
"Got it and I will"so eveyone headed over to Fremont Skate Park and everyone just immediately went for it Stacy and Rodney were doing flat ground, Lance and Tony were in the bowl,Mike was skating ramps, Tommy and Billie were just cruising, and Anna,Scott and Joe were just skating the whole park and Anna was doing a mix of street,ramp,and flat ground and it was awesome and Adrienne was recording it all and after a while Anna went over by Adrienne and spoke
"80, you wann learn how to skate"and Adrienne was laughing
"Sure why not Youngblood"she said smiling,so Billie came over and checked out what was happening
"So what's happening"and Anna spoke
"I'm gonna teach 80 how to skate"
"Cool,she's already wearing Vans so I mean that's a start"and Anna was laughing
"Yeah"so Anna showed Adrienne the basics,like getting balance down,turning,leaning,and stuff like that,so Adrienne got on Anna's board and Anna held her hand and she started rolling and Anna let go of her hand and spoke
"See you got it"so Adrienne cruised around a little bit,once she go the basic stuff down,but it was just for fun and Anna yelled at Billie
"Billie,I just taught your wife how to skate"she said laughing,and he started laughing from across the park,so eventually Anna got her board back from Adrienne and went and skated some more,adn they skated until it was dark out and once everyone was skated out for the day,they just chilled,talked,messed around and stuff,Anna and Joe caught up and Stacy came over by her with something
"Hey Anna,I have something for you"and he handed her a board and she flipped it over and looked at it and the graphic was an animated St.Jimmy/Saint Insomnia character holding a skateboard and it said 'Saint Insomnia' above the character and 'Anna Kushner' below the character and it had the Powell Peralta logo on the tail of the board and she jumped up form where she was sitting
"Holy shit,what,my own board,what,how,holy fuck,okay who's idea was the graphic"and everyone looked at Billie and he spoke
"Yeah,but Stacy is the one who made it all happen"and she ran over and gave Billie a hug
"This thing is fucking amazing"and Stacy spoke
"And there will be a fresh shipment of those in Mike's,Tony's and Powell Peralta's skate shop,tomorrow morning" and Anna was ecstatic,so she jumped on her new,sponsered,pro board and skated it up and had a smile on her face and Scott was so happy watching her,so everyone put a little bit more skate time,then eventually everyone headed out and it was just Anna,Billie,Adrienne,and Scott,so they headed back home and Scott,was skated out,so he went to bed,so did Adrienne,so Billie and Anna went upstairs to Anna's room and just relaxed and Anna set her trophy on her dresser and Billie spoke
"Y'know we are all proud of you"
"Yeah"
"And I'm super proud of you Youngblood,like how can someone your size pull off all those huge tricks"
"Tiny but mighty,and I have no idea,just do"and Anna was just staring at her trophy and Billie noticed
"You're gonna stare a hole in that thing"and Billie saw the look on her face
"Youngblood what's up"
"I don't deserve that thing and it means nothing,sure I was excited to get it but it doesn't mean anything but that I won a contest,which never happens"
"Youngblood,you skated your heart out,so you earned it,and you're an amazing skater"
"I know,but I feel I don't deserve recognition,like even back when we were winning Best Rock Album and an award for Saint Insomnia,I was excited to get them,because it was an uncommon thing,but I felt I didn't deserve them,like there is no way I did that,like there is no way I possibly did something that great,I can't be proud of myself,and I don't know why that is so hard for me,and I didn't say anything back then because I thought it was stupid,god why can't I just be proud of myself"and Anna had tears in her eyes and Billie hugged her
"Youngblood,it's okay,you earn awards because you worked hard and did an awesome job and you do deserve them because you played and skated your heart out to win those awards,and you did do something that great and I understand,not being able to be proud of yourself, and it's not stupid, I get the feeling and I can help you through it,it's okay"
"Thanks Billo"
"Of course Youngblood, and you skated literally all day,so sleep is calling your name"
"Yeah, Billie hug"and Billie laughed a little
"Of course"so Billie gave her a hug
"Night Youngblood,I love you"
"Love you too Billo,night"and Billie headed to bed and Anna passed out the second she hit her bed,and it was a very skate,fun filled day.
