Liam

"Ang ganda naman po ng skin niyo," I heard Gen said to one of my guests.

I looked at them and noticed that the older woman is now smiling from ear to ear. I remember seeing her so pissed earlier for a reason I'm not aware of. But I can assume that she's getting bored as her husband, Mr. Morillo, keeps on ignoring her.

"You have such a sweet girl, Liam," sabi ng ginang.

"Of course. She's the best," nakangiting sabi ko pa.

I never introduced Gen as my girlfriend, but I guess they all just assumed the same. Hindi na namin itinama. Gen didn't mind anyway.

"You're doing great, girlfriend," biro ko nang makapag-solo kaming dalawa.

"Girlfriend number 200?" aniya, halatang nagbibiro.

Ginantihan ko rin siya ng biro. "I'm not sure. I haven't been counting," sabi ko na ikina-singkit ng mata niya.

"Yeah, of course.

Honestly, I kinda got hurt by her words. I don't know what Mica told her, but I'm not that kind of guy. Well, yes, I did once. Pero noon lang 'yun. I never did it again. I may have dated countless women, but I made sure I didn't date them at the same time.

"It only happened once, Gen. That was a mistake. I'm just... forget it. It doesn't matter."

Gen

Hindi ko alam kung anong meron sa mga salita niya pero somehow, I believed him. Well, like he said, it doesn't matter. It's not like I would date him or something.

"What are you talking about? I don't know how to cook," aniya, takang-taka sa sinabi ko.

"Ahh! Mica!" Tumawa siya sandali at tumingin sa malayo. Pagkatapos ay tumingin siya sa akin. "Well, you see, I just told her it's my recipe," aniya saka nagkibit.

"Why?"

"That dish was my idea."

"Technically, still not your recipe."

"Yeah, whatever."

It doesn't concern me anyway.

"How long have you been friends with Mica?" tanong niya.

"Since our last year in college. Maybe 3? 4 years?" sagot ko. "We weren't really close at first. Madalas kaming mag-away. And I mean "away".

"Really? How come you became friends?"

"Honestly, I don't know. Grabe kami nung college. "At isa pa!" Itinaas ko pa ang hintuturo ko. "Inagaw niya 'yung childhood crush ko! Nako!
