Luna
A few hours later, Matt got the call from Brett about Hoffman turning himself in. Now Karen, Brett and I stood in the corner of the interrogation room while Matt and Foggy sat at the table with Hoffman. It took some convincing from Matt to let me into the room with them. Brett trusted Matt and Foggy but defiantly did not believe me. By the look on Hoffman's face when I walked into the room, he recognized me.
"What the hell is she doing here?" Hoffman said as I walked in.
"Shes a college of mine," Matt answered, quickly realizing what I must have.
At some point, he saw me with the Russians.
"You said we could trust these people." He said as he looked to Brett.
"You can." Brett tried to comfort him.
"She was with the Russians." He said, "Like with the Russians, how can you trust her?" He asked as he started to panic.
"Because you know just like I do that Fisk killed the Russians. So that puts us on the same side. We both wont to take down Fisk." I told him.
I tried to avoid Karen's gaze as I could feel her gaze on me. I never had the intention to tell her about my connection to the Russians.
"Now stop wasting our time and tell us what you know." I snapped at him.
"Luna calm down," Matt told me, and I did as he said and stood in the back quietly.
Brett turned on the camera, and Matt and Foggy got started.
"As we said, our client is willing to be placed in protective custody and waive all considerations for immunity," Foggy stated for the camera.
"In exchange for what?" Brett asked.
"Nothing. Detective Hoffman regrets his involvement in Wilson Fisk criminal enterprise and seeks only to unburden himself in the eyes of God and the state of New York. Detective?" Matt started.
"I've taken money, a lot of money...to do things for...for Fisk. I'm not the only one, the cops, lawyers, judges..." Hoffman told started telling us as he chuckled slightly to us. "At least one senator I know off."
"Start at the beginning. Names, dates, I want it all." Brett told him.
Karen could not help but chuckle softly. She was finally getting what she wanted Fisk behind bars. I, on the other hand, knew I should be happy, Fisk was going to go to jail, but I found myself feeling underwhelmed. There was a tightness in my chest made me realize I was not going to be happy until Fisk was dead.
"My partner and I were first approached by a man working for Wilson Fisk...18 months ago." He started and then went on to tell us everything he knew.
Plenty to put Fisk away for a long time. After he told us everything, the FBI was called in. They were needed to deal with not only the criminals, but the paid off cops, lawyers and everyone else who was involved. Over the next few hours more people then I could count where arrested. Even Turk could not escape the Feds. Three cops from the 15th percent alone were arrested. A lady from Bens newspaper was arrested as well, and we found out she was the one who told Fisk that Ben was writing that article about him. The lawyers who worked at Marcy's firm and even a senator were all taken into custody. The only one left was Fisk himself.
I made sure I was standing across the street from his penthouse when the Feds pulled him outside. I wanted to make sure he saw me. I wanted him to know I did this to him. When he spent the rest of his days separated from Venessa I wanted him to know I was the one keeping them apart. His eyes locked on me as he was pulled out in cuffs. I could tell he recognized me from somewhere but couldn't quite place me. I just stood there smiling at him knowing that my face would haunt him until he was able to place where he knew me from.
