CHAPTER 14

I looked at him with confusion. The mischievious glint was visible in his violet eyes. I was actually mesmerized by its beauty. Compelling. 'Yong tipong hindi ko napapansin na napapatitig na pala ako nang matagal dito.

I blinked.

"Stop staring. I already had lots of admirers. 'Wag kang dumagdag." Walang gana nitong sagot bago umupo malapit sa pinaglalagyan ng chess board.

"Conceited!"

He smirked.

Kahit naguguluhan pa rin ako ay sumunod ako sa kaniya at umupo sa kabilang banda malapit sa headboard. Tumagal ang tingin ko sa kutsilyong nakapwesto sa pagitan namin.

"I am your tormentor. I won't make this easy for you."

Hindi ako sumagot. Nag-abot ang aming tingin. He gave me a taunting look. I rolled my eyes and cleared my throat.

"At anong initiation ang gusto mo?"

"Good question. We will play chess with a painful twist. Let's see how far you will last, you egomania."

Hindi ko pa rin maintindihan. Napakunot ang aking noo.

I took a deep breath. I stared at my chess piece. Then, I awkwardly diverted my eyes to my clothes. Mabuti na lang at nakasuot ako ng hoodie. I also have my wrist watch, anklet and bracelet. Sana pala nagsuot na lang din ako ng medyas at chocker.

"Then, shall we start?" tanong ko.

An evil smile crept on his face.

"Sure. You'll have the white piece."

Inabante ko ng dalawang hakbang ang pawn na nasa harapan ng king. e4. He moved forward the pawn infront of his Queen. d5.

Sa mga sumunod kong move ay hindi muna ako nagtangkang umatake. I positioned my pieces in a defensive manner. Samantalang hindi ko naman mabasa ang mga galaw ni Davil. Ang bilis niyang mag-isip to the point na napapatanong na ako kung may pinaplano ba siya or he just moved randomly.
