CHAPTER 43

"I know you will come. You actually meet my expectation, Sinclaire."

I froze when I heard a cold and scary voice. Dahan-dahan akong napalingon sa aking likuran. At talagang hindi ko inasahan ang taong bumungad sa akin.

Isang lalaking may nakakakilabot na ngisi sa kaniyang labi. Matangkad siya at mayroon ring ibubuga kung pisikal na aspekto ang pag-uusapan. He had a lot of piercing which emphasized his gangster look.

Pamilyar siya sa akin pero hindi ko matukoy kung saan ko siya nakita. My eyes turned to slit.

"Who the hell are you?"

He took a step forward. Napaatras ako dahil sa makahulugang ngisi niya sa labi. The mockery on his face made me raise my eyebrow.

"What did they do to you?" bakas ang pagkaaliw sa boses niya. Napailing-iling pa ito. A fake pity was visible on his eyes.

"Don't you remember me, Sapphire? We used to be very close. How's your brother by the way? Still weeping for the woman he lost? Still pinning for the love he was deprived of?"

Kinikilabutan na ako sa kanya. Kilala niya ba ako? At kung Oo, paano nangyari 'yon? I bit my lips while I kept on digging any memories that could be associated to this creepy guy... but I couldn't find anything. And what did he mean about Lush?

"How did you knew me and Lush?" I gritted my teeth.

He chuckled darkly.

"Oh, Lush. Lush Sinclaire." He uttered my brother's name with too much disdain. "Your brother's suffering will always be my nirvana. He stole something so precious to me that even his death will not be enough to pay it."

"My brother is not a thief! Damn you!"

He just rolled his eyes.

"Sinclaires are really something, right? You are all greedy. Your family will do anything just to be on top even the cons are dangerous."

"I'm not here to chitchat or listen to your rants about my family." I looked at him coldly.

"You need something from me, Sinclaire. I knew that—"

"Then start giving me what I need—"

He scoffed.

"Before I forget, maybe I should introduce myself first." He paused and gave me a serious look. "I'm Eron, the frat leader of Genesis."

Natigilan ako.

Genesis, the mortal nemesis of the Fortress. The same frat who wanted me dead. I wandered my gaze around the place. Masyadong tahimik at tanging huni ng mga ibon ang naririnig ko. Now, I was starting to doubt if being here was a good idea or a suicide mission. The frat war that Genesis started was the freaking reason why Honey died, and I would forever hate this man for what he did. At nasisigurado kong hanggang ngayon ay gusto pa rin nila akong patayin sa kadahilanang hindi ko alam.

Nawala na ang ngisi sa kanyang mga labi, napalitan ito ng galit. Hindi ko siya aatrasan. If he didn't listen to Amber's childish rants maybe Honey was still alive right now! Kasi sino namang tanga at uto-uto ang maghahamon ng gulo dahil lang sa inutos ni Amber?

"Eron, right?" I step forward. Nanatili itong seryoso. When I'm already close to him, I raised my middle finger in his face. "Fuck you for killing my friend!"

His lips pursed.

"Now, you're blaming me, when in fact I should be the one giving you the blame for causing too much ruckus inside Chaos."

Tumalim ang tingin niya sa akin. His eyes turned darker. Umigting rin ang panga niya.

"I did not do anything to you but you kept on bugging my life. Should I be flattered because of the attention your frat had given me? Am I a threat to you, Eron?"
