CHAPTER 76

The night became a total catastrophic. Dad panicked. His men were in full alert waiting for his cue, and some Chaosers started to stir trouble according to what I had overheard.

I heard the urgent footsteps around, the shouts, the panic, and other disturbing noises. I could even hear Dad telling and cussing me to do something, but despite the vividness of my senses, I couldn't think properly. My eyes were glued in the cellphone's screen as if this piece of shit could enlighten me from my turmoil.

"What the fuck, king?! Chaos University is literally in chaos right now! And here you are, looking at your phone like you don't give a damn?!"

Thatum grabbed the phone from my grip. I looked at my empty palm and that was when I realized that my hands were shaking uncontrollably. Fear engulfed my system. This was the first time that my leadership became futile because I couldn't even stand properly. I clenched my fists tightly before I frustratingly unclasped it.

"Where's Dad?" I asked weakly. Napasabunot ako sa sariling buhok.

"Your mom and sister were rushed to the hospital. The president wants to go there as soon as possible, but he can't leave you in this state. Nasa labas siya at pilit na kinokontrol ang sitwasyon. Look at you right now, you look like shit inside your office."

I bit my lips while trying to think properly. Pinasadahan ko ng mga daliri ang aking buhok bago ako tumayo. I licked my lips. I can even taste my own blood. I looked around. Some of Dad's men were standing in the corner like statues. I wanted to lock myself here and thought of nothing. The reality was fucking my mind.

"Are they o-okay?"

Sinalubong ko ang tingin ni Thatum. Hindi katulad ko ay kalkulado pa rin siyang gumalaw kahit halatang napipikon na sa akin. There were bruises on his face, and his shirt was unruly.

"I don't know, king, but at least they were saved. Your dad is still trying to investigate who the fuck did it. Wala naman kasing witness. Nakita na lang ng mga kasambahay niyo na wala ng malay si Honey at si tita sa loob ng kanilang mga kwarto—"

Nanghina ako sa aking narinig. My gaze landed on the cellphone he was holding. The one who called me, that was not brat, right? She couldn't—fuck! Hindi niya iyon magagawa! Maybe she was just forced and frame up! It could be a prank, right? I would consider every silly reason right now, except the most obvious one.

Tears escaped from my eyes. Losing Dale almost killed me. I couldn't bear to lose the two of you. Damn! What the fuck should I do?

"Stop sulking here like a widower, king. Chaos University needs their king right now. By the way, I tried to chase Sapphire but I lost her. Pasensya na, hindi ko siya nasundan."

"Damn..." I murmured. Bigla akong nahimasmasan sa aking narinig. Mabilis kong inagaw ang cellphone kay Thatum. I dialed her number impatiently while my other hand was gripping my hair tightly. For the love of fuck! It was almost dawn and I didn't have any idea where she was right now! I knew my brat would not do that! I wanted to confront her but at the same time, I wanted to make sure that she was safe! Para na akong mababaliw sa pag-aalala.

"Where's Vain?" I asked when her number became unreachable. The heck, brat. Where were you?!

"The knight was busy punching your rebellious Chaosers."

"What do you mean?" I massaged my forehead. Nasa cellphone pa rin ang aking paningin.

"Some Chaosers were trying to escalate more violence. Some were even attempting to escape."
