I couldn't believe that Davil's words were not just an empty threat. If I could change what I did, I would do it without hesitation. Because that one fateful night, when I chose to run to his embrace, was also the night when I unconsciously ignited a war between Dale and Davil.

"B-bakit ka nandito?" My voice slightly shook when I saw him leaning on the doorway. Pinasadahan ko ito ng tingin. His face remained impassive while looking at me. May hawak-hawak siyang mga aklat. I mentally smile despite my nervousness.

"I want to see you," he said it casually like it wasn't a big deal.

"W-why?" I felt my palms sweating.

He leaned closer making me stepped back. But still, his presence scared me.

"Do you really want to know the reason?" The intensity in his eyes, and the way he spoke made me fear his answer. Alam kong may kakaiba na. Something changed. But my mind didn't want to acknowledge it.

I didn't expect Davil to be here because as far as I knew, the Upper Hierarchy was busy preparing for the Clash of the Clubs.

I was not doing anything but I felt like I was betraying Dale because I couldn't make his brother stop from coming here even when I should. And that scared me, the fact that I couldn't do something, that I just let him in not just in my brother's dorm but also in my life, like waves slave on its current.

Inilapag niya sa sofa ang mga aklat. My eyes twinkled in excitement when I saw the covers. Agad kong pinulot ang isang librong may pamagat na 'Interview with the Vampire'.

"That's Dale's book. He told me to give it to you since he can't visit you for the mean time."

The heaviness in my chest worsened when I heard his name. Dale knew I love to read classical books and vampire stories. He knew that Anne Rice and Stephenie Meyer were my favorite authors. He knew me very well and I hated the fact that I was starting to be confused. No one deserved a half-baked love especially a man who gave me his full loyalty.

"You shouldn't be here, Davil. This... this is wrong..."

He looked vulnerable. The pain in his violet eyes were too obvious. He looked lost for a moment, and all I did was watch him.
