Avatar: The Legend Of Kyoshi

Chapter 11

After arriving in Taizhou, they got a boat and headed for the Fire Nation. That was days ago, Kyoshi stood on the boat and watched the volcanic islands of the Fire Nation come into view. She looked in surprise and wonder when she saw a golden dragon fly past their boat, to her it was beautiful and majestic.

"Looks like this is your first time seeing a dragon?". The captain of the boat said.

Kyoshi nodded,"It is".

"Well, there are a lot of them around. If you're lucky, you could find a few in the Fire Nation". The captain said.

"Possibly". Kyoshi said.

Then Sorin came up from below deck and gave a yawn as he felt the sun greet his skin, Kyoshi turned and saw him tie his hair up.

"Sorin, you missed the dragon that just flew by". She said.

"A dragon flew past our boat a few minutes ago?". Sorin asked.

Kyoshi nodded.

"That's unfortunate. Well, its no problem. I already saw a lot of them since growing up". Sorin said.

"Have you ridden one before?". Kyoshi asked.

"Oh, yeah. I rode a large black one before, it was one of the most dangerous out of all the others I rode before". Sorin said.

Kyoshi looked shocked,"What?! What if you got hurt?".

"I'm used to danger in my life at this point. After what I've been through". He said the last part somberly.

Kyoshi looked at him. She knew he was hiding something but she didn't comfortable prying in things, but her curiosity was getting the best of her.

"Sorin?".

"Yeah?".

"Can I ask you something?".

Sorin didn't look at her,"Yeah, go ahead".

"What are you.......".

"We're here! We're going to dock soon". The captain's voice cut Kyoshi off before she could ask Sorin what she wanted to know.

Kyoshi was slightly annoyed by this. But it was for the best on one side, she didn't tell him about her past as well so it would have been wrong to pry into his. She will have to ask him next time.

After thanking the captain for the ride to the Fire Nation, Kyoshi and Sorin started climbing the steps of the docks that lead to the square of the harbour. At the top of the steps, they saw four fire sages and old man who had grey long hair, he wore military armor and he looked like someone who held authority. As they came to the steps, the sages and the old man bowed to them and Kyoshi and Sorin returned the gesture.

"It is an honor to finally meet you, Avatar Kyoshi". The head sage said.

"The pleasure is all mine". Kyoshi replied.

"I hope your journey here was quite alright". Another sage said.

Kyoshi smiled,"It was rather pleasant. Thank you".

"Avatar Kyoshi, it is an honor to meet you. I am Former General Yamoto". The old man said.

"It is pleasure to meet you, General". Kyoshi smiled.

The head sage then made eye contact with Sorin who was trying his best to look as collected as possible, the General also looked at him with observant eyes.

"I did not know you would have company". The head sage said.

"Oh, this is my travel companion and friend. Sorin". Kyoshi introduced.
