Chapter 16

Sorin was busy writing his biography in the lounge of the palace, it was more quiet here than it was at other places. He smiled as he continued writing, this was what he liked doing most of the time. His focus was broken by a certain tall Avatar entering the room, she was covered in bruises and dirt. He immediately stifled a laugh that was about to erupt from his mouth, she really looked angry.

"So, how was training?". Sorin asked, not resisting to smile.

"It was great. I'm getting really good at hand to hand combat". Kyoshi replied, taking a seat on one of the seats.

Sorin raised an eyebrow,"Then why do you look so angry?".

"I'm not. Ty Jun just knocked me into the sty of some chicken pigs". Kyoshi said, looking upset.

"Oh, that explains the smell". Sorin said before he burst out laughing.

Kyoshi glared at him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry". Sorin said,"It's just really funny, that's all".

"Was he always like this, especially with you?". Kyoshi asked.

"Well, Ty Jun was always rough around the edges but this is rather new to me. He never knocked me into a sty of chicken pigs before". Sorin said.

Kyoshi groaned.

"Hey, at least you're improving". He said.

"I suppose". She said.

Sorin smiled and continued writing.

"Sorin?". She asked.

"Yeah?". He responded.

"Do you think Lady Sho will find me worthy and teach me her arts?". She asked.

"Of course, Kyoshi. You're the strongest person I've ever met and you're pretty too, if anyone is more deserving than its you". He said.

Kyoshi smirked,"So, you find me pretty?".

"What?". He asked.

"You just said I'm pretty". Kyoshi smiled.

"Did I? Huh, must have slipped out". He said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Well, thanks for the compliment. It's great knowing I have someone who cares about me". Kyoshi said.

"Hey, we're friends. I'll always look out for you". Sorin said.

Kyoshi smiled before leaving.

Kyoshi and Miyaki walked through the streets as they made their way back home. They went shopping for a few things that the servants needed for the palace, Kyoshi was surprised that Miyaki wasn't bothered about buying things for the servants. Despite being the crowned princess of the Fire Nation, Miyaki suggested to Kyoshi that they just walk since it was a beautiful day.

"I thought you would be using a palanquin at this point". Kyoshi said.

"Hmph. Those old things, I may be a princess but it doesn't give me the right to order humans like me to carry me". Miyaki said, looking straight ahead.

"I see". Kyoshi said.

"Can you shoot lightning?". Miyaki asked.

"What?".

"Have you shot lightning before?". Miyaki asked.

"No, I don't think so". Kyoshi said.

"Well, one of your past lives did. He was a firebender and he was the first person to shoot lightning. Why don't you ask him?". Miyaki said.
