[GR] "GAMING RIG"

These are the articles I've written in regards to setting up my own gaming rig. I know there's bound to be more, but with the financial constraint I'm facing, I am fairly sure I will complete it next year―or worse, not at all.

I'm now at 1/3 of my target budget for a gaming rig . . .

Well, there are shops offering cheaper alternatives and prices for all parts I would need for my own setup, at the least. I don't really need "ultra" graphics (though it's a rather nice idea); just the unfettered access to all computer games I want to play―first-person shooters, in particular―without the worry of lags and other performance hiccups. I don't really need to have top-of the line hardware at this point, because, I know, I would not play every triple-A game the video game industry churns out every year. However, in order for me to truly achieve that goal, I really need to save more . . . even though I'm not at all interested at my father's business venture, where my dough comes from.

Then again, I have pretty much no choice in the matter―might as well take on the role of a dogged "slave" with conviction. Yep. No one would care about what I truly feel deep inside―not even my parents.

And my participation in this year's #NoFapNovember (or #NoNutNovember)? I'm still hanging on, even though it's getting harder to resist the urge. I will still #StayInTheFight.

From 1/3, I'm now moving my target budget for the rig I'm planning to set up to 1/4. I'll need some totally beefed-up hardware, if I want to "experience" the games I want to play. I'm not going to take any chances at this point.

Firstly, I'll need these four items: a 9th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU, plus a decent mainboard; an Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti video card, or something much more powerful; two 8GB DDR4 RAM sticks―or a single 16GB DDR4 RAM stick, if the mainboard allows it; and a decent power supply unit capable of powering up every one of the computer's main components, plus one extra wire. Then a 240GB SSD for the operating system itself―plus a 4TB HDD for storage. (The extra wire from the PSU would be for another backup drive, if ever needed.)

All in all, I really need to save more money. And a quick-rich scheme is starting to become a nice idea. Maybe I should join the Santa Blanca cartel?

Bravo Six, standing by.

Oh boy. I have now placed a downpayment on these two items: a second-hand "True rated" power supply, plus a second-hand tower case that could fit a big-ass VGA. Once fully paid―plus the 2TB HDD I've bought earlier on the same computer "junk shop"―I can now move on with the parts I'm having trouble dealing with: VGA (preferrably a GTX 1660 6GB), processor and motherboard, memory sticks (2 pieces, 8GB each), and a 240 GB solid-state drive. Maybe I'll place the VGA as the last item on the list. *evil grin*
