The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
SUBJECT: BLACKPINK×Shopee PH meet-and-greet fail.
THE GOOD: Appropriate actions are now "underway", as reported by the Department of Trade and Industry.
THE BAD: "Blinks"―BLACKPINK fans―were enraged at the last-minute change of promo mechanics regarding the acquisition of tickets for the fan meetup. Also, Shopee PH have issued a "half-assed" apology to those who have spent an inordinate amount of money for the event and have not received the tickets―only after the SHOPEESCAM hashtag became a trending topic across social media platforms. While the promo itself was not a bad way of increasing sales, the fuck-ups that happened along the way only made it look more like a deceptive business practice. Also, the almost-botched meet-and-greet only showed that the management of Shopee PH is somewhat incompetent when it comes to organizing such events.
THE UGLY: Certain social media "influencers" have made cretins out of themselves, joking about how other Blinks were "sensitive" about the affair.
