I have once read an online article stating that people who traverse the streets without the help of maps or navigation systems tend to memorize the routes better; said article cites the taxi drivers of London as an example. And I feel like I have unlocked an alternate route that will help me on my Manila runs.

I'm going to share this one, if ever there will be a need for anyone other than me to avoid the conventional route.

From my starting point at LRT Quirino station, to my destination―which happened to be at Pasig area, one would go back to Balintawak station and ride a bus towards MRT Shaw station, then another jeepney ride to whichever destination point in Pasig city; this is the conventional "EDSA route", which will eat away a lot of time before reaching Shaw Boulevard, another traffic-prone area. (Total amount: PhP 30.00 LRT ride + PhP 30.00 bus ride―more or less + PhP 9.00 minimum for the jeep ride to Pasig.)

My "alternate" route consists of: 1) a short jeep ride from LRT Quirino to LRT Pedro Gil; 2) a jeep ride from LRT Pedro Gil to Kalentong, which is at the boundary between Manila and Mandaluyong; 3) a short walk towards the JRU area―which is kinda long, to be honest―and lastly; 4) a jeep ride to Pasig―for that, you need to find a jeep with the general route of "Quiapo - Pasig Palengke". (Total cost: PhP 9.00 + 11.00 + 10.00 minimum for all three jeepney rides.)It may be a tedious task, even for those who live within the Metro, what with all the frequent change of rides and the walking involved, but I may have shaved off a "significant" amount of time waiting my ass due to traffic―not to mention, a great amount of money.

Bravo Six, going dark.

P. S.: I have realized it now, but there are other ways to Pasig via the conventional route―which is along EDSA―but each method will (still) result in long wait times, not to mention, a huge dent on the budget.
