Home Finally

Having been gone for years my husband has been given the honorable discharge to come home. I can not happier than when I will be seeing his face and be able to hold him in my arms.

Us talking on rare occasions that he was able to take in order to call me didn't help. Yea I got to know he was still over there alive. But it didn't help my fear that it would be my last time talking to him. But I told myself so many times I can not think like that and that he will come home to me.

So when I got the word of his honorable discharge I was over-excited. I did my hair in a waterfall braid, applied eyeliner and since I knew my mascara would run when I saw him. Then I slipped on a simple floral dress and slipped on a pair of wooden wedges before I headed out and went to where his division was to arrive.

I parked my car and climbed out ready to see my baby. I longed to be in his arms and just breathed him in.

Yes, my heart goes out to those whose loved ones were killed in action and I feel for them so much. And I will pay my respects since they fought along with my husband for my freedom and put their lives on the line just as much as he did.

I stood at the front and watched as the plane landed then taxied along the runway before pulling up to the entry of the hanger where the families stood waiting.

We all stood there cheering and whistling as the military guys and girls walked off the airplane. The made rows side by side before Captain Syverson stood before them and gave the order. Once he did that they all clicked their heels together. He turned and began to walk towards the hanger where we all was. The division all followed behind him.

We were clapping, cheering, half of us was crying, the other half was over-excited.

Capt Syverson called out his command once they were inside and they all stopped when he did. He turned about-face towards them. "At ease" he called out and they all relaxed but kept their posture perfect.

He turned so he was facing away from them and placed his hands behind his back along with the others.

We all stopped cheering and listened to the announcements given by the first lieutenant. After he said what he needed to he moved on.

"It is of great recognition that we bring forth captain Syverson," the first lieutenant said and with that my husband walked forth and upon the stage, I cheered and whistled along with the others.

"Captian Syverson here has been given an honorable discharge. He has earned this for his time he spent overseas looking over and protect our men and women as well as making sure that they had done what had needed to be done. So if you al will please give him a warm round of applause as he goes to his loved one that would be amazing" Lieutenant said

I clapped as did everyone else before I stood up and watched as he looked for me and spotted me in the crowd. He swiftly yet gracefully made his way over to me and hugged me as everyone continued to cheer and clap for him.

I cupped his face and kissed him with everything I had in me. We pulled away and he smiled as well as I did then we turned and watched as the lieutenant continued talking before Syverson gave his final command to dismiss the division to their loved ones.

Once we arrived home William headed upstairs and took a shower while I sat on the bed and awaited him.

After he was out I watched as he stood there before me in a towel and just took me in.

"Feels unreal huh?" I asked "You have no idea" he replied. I watched as He disappeared in his closet to get dressed before coming back out. I stood up and walked up to him wrapped my arms around him and held him close.

"I am finally home, and I can't be anymore happier," he said I lifted my head from his chest and pecked his lips numerous times then lingered on the last peck before I nuzzled my face in his neck.

"I am so happy to finally have you here with me," I tell him as we stand there holding each other.

It was at that moment that the tears fell from my eyes and he looked at me and wiped them away before cupping my face.

 "I never have to leave you again, and we can finally start our dream family we wished for when we married," he tells me.

I nodded my head and kissed him when he leaned down and pressed a soft kisss to my lips.
